Looking Out the Window

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I am the card designer at Card a Day Blog and I get to start off the new week with an Easter theme. The intent of my card today is looking out the window.

The die cut on this card with the addition of pop dots gives the illusion of looking out the window. The die cut is an exclusive Heartfelt Creation die called decorative window scene. The stamp is from a retired set and the stamp is called Easter Spring Rabbit. I chalked the grass with SU chalk and I used makers to color in specifics on the stamp to bring out more of the details. Happy Easter was stamped with SU basic black and traced over with Gelly Roll clear star pen to give it some glitter. The card is an A2 size and was cut out of my collection of paper (just not sure of the brand). Some cards are so simple but yet give such an impact that makes them extra special.
I hope you enjoy your view out your window as I look out mine. Have a fantastic day!

If you just came from Card A Day Blog then you are on the right track for hopping this blog hop. Welcome to my blog and my card is an interactive card:
This is, what is called a waterfall card. I had gotten one in a recent card swap and my husband just thought this was a fun card and wanted me to make this for our grand-daughter's graduation this year.
So I contacted the girl that made the card and she gave me the youtube site for the tutorial (the girl walks you right through it, easy)
The details of my card:
Britney's school colors are Black and Orange so that is the colors chosen for the card. The card base is in Ivory cardstock A2 size. the background piece is DCWV Siler Stag Star paper, The other papers are from my scrap pile in black and 2 oranges. I cut a few images to put on the scrap pieces from A Child's Year, Printing 101 and Wild Card. Silver brads, orange eyelet and silver ribbon. Stickers are from some freebies I got in the mail.

What you'll need for the card is a piece of card stock 2"X 9" and scored at 2"-2 3/4"- 3 1/2"- 4 1/4". Bend the score lines back and forth, even the other way to help it. You need 4 2"X 2" papers (they can be the same or different colors)(mine are the black). You need 4 1 7/8" X 1 7/8" square in maybe a neutral color (mine are the orange (see above picture)), These will have either your image or sayings on them. You will need the attaching border at 3/4" X 4 1/4" (this is what your waterfall attaches to. You attached this to the card towards the bottom with 2 brads. The long piece of cardstock is where you attached all the square pieces (and from here it would be best to watch her video for the placement of the pieces). The card was actually pretty easy to get together while watching the video tutorial.
Here is the movement of the card
Here you can see the actual movement of the card:

Isn't that cool! The only thing I would change about this card is putting on the images before putting the pieces to the waterfall strip, it would have been nice to have the 2012 sitting right at the bottom now that I see the card put together,
Thanks for stopping by and I enjoyed showing you the card I made today. Now I do have some blog candy but I don't have a picture of it on here today. So it's a surprise but it is dimensional. All you have to do to win is be a follower and leave a comment with an email to reply back to you. The comment is also needed for the big giveaway, too. Now hop on over to Cindys Creations and see what kind of card she has made.

Love Birds

Hi all, Wow I've been away longer than what I thought! I hope your not suffering from that cold that's been floating around, I had it for a couple of weeks. But I'm glad that it is over and I can get back to what I enjoy. I'm the designer today over at Card A Day Blog and I wanted to show you all what I created in my corner today. If your stopping in from the Card a Day Blog, welcome to my little corner. The theme this week is congratulations
As I said in my previous blog, there are alot of upcoming weddings that I need cards for so here is another but this card could be used for other events as well. It could be used for Valentine's day, congrats on an engagement or an Anniversary, just change the sentiment.

So this card was so easy to do. The base of the card I received from a swap box, in there was a variety pack of card bases in reference to love, but this one was special with all the lettering and definitions all over it. So I kept the rest of the card pretty simple to not draw away from that card base. With the popularity of this type of paper out there with the writing all over it you could do the same similar thing.
These were a few of the pieces in this project. The love birds were cut from scrap paper at 1.25" it came from the Holiday Cakes cricut cartridge (and yes you can cut paper with the cake cartridges). The flourish came from accent essentials but decided not to use it just couldn't get it to work with the card. The ribbon I think I got last summer at a flea market (it sparkles). The congratulations came from a pre-cut sticker pack and I stuck it on a scrap of the pink paper and punched with SU large scallop oval. The inside sentiment I found online. So that is it, plain and simple and a breeze to put together. The longest part was probably cutting the birds out.
I hope you all enjoy this card and would like to have you join me on Monday for the Spring has Sprung blog hop and maybe so blog candy too. I want to bring some of the things that I have been working on this past month so you'll see more posts next week as I get back to bloggin again. Thanks for joining me today...
