Good Eats Layout for Lasting Memories challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) I hope your weekend has been going well :) I've had another successful organizing day in my craftroom yesterday :) I got through 3 more boxes of stuff! Lots of future layouts seem to have been in the box that I now have in my future projects box. I have a box and a bag of memorabilia that I'm not sure where I'm going to put them or how to organize them :) Guess an hour or 2 of looking on the internet might help. But anyways.... This month's theme over at Lasting Memories is The Blues and each week's challenge is based off the mood board. Here is the layout I created from that mood board
It's getting harder to find 1 page sketch challenges that include alot of photos, so glad when I came across this one over at Scrapbook Challenges: Sketch :466

The one thing I did change up on the sketch was the one picture being closer, just to me Buddy needs to be closer to the food that is the way he is in the kitchen and there is no blocking this dog's view :)
So the challenge this month our theme is
"The Blues"
Each week we will give you a colour pallette to use but the main colour will be blue. We can't wait to see what you do this month!! Here's your first challenge pallette
My layout was created from the variety of blues and some neutrals to that was in the picture leading up to the white in the icing of the cake.
This is the process of my husband making Chinese :) While he is cutting the meat he has ample protection if any of them attach him :) Buddy is always close on hand.
A picture of the final dish :) I did some fussy cutting for this layout the blue foil heart came from a PL card.
The journaling :) Dave has never used a recipe for his cooking and so there is never a same meal twice. 'Good Eatin'
It's going to be an interesting month to scrap with the mood boards, it's not something I'm accustom to the way I scrap so I get to stretch myself a bit this coming month. Just gotta hope that there is some blues in next month's Counterfeit kit :) But then I can finish out this month's kit next month and not worry about it :) I used most of my current kit for my layout and a few things I found while organizing/cleaning my room :) Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :) We would love to see your creation this month too :)

A Butterfly Happy Birthday Card for Funday Friday

Hi you all :) Yay for Friday! Today is the first day for a long weekend and hoping to get some crafting done besides some organizing too :) I've got a few pictures separated out for layouts to do and want to make a few quick cards also :)  But first we need to address:
It's Funday Friday! Today the theme is Anything Goes over at Jo's Scrap Shack
and the sponsors for this week's challenge  are Sami Stamps Shop she is a new sponsor so lets give her a warm welcome and visit her store :) &  Little Blue Button Stamps.
I got to do one of Sami Stamps Shop stamp's. I chose the Butterfly 3 for my card
The card base and lots of the elements on the card comes from my current counterfeit kit.
This beautiful stamp from Sami's is so cute I heat embossed some of the detail spots in the butterfly and added the Wink of Stella brushes Glitter Blue and Glitter Silver to color up the butterfly. Dirtied up the edges with Mustard Seed Distressed Ink. So glittery in person really hard to see it on the photo :)
I brought alot of the same elements to the inside of the card, with a cute sentiment from CTMH Card Chatter (Birthday) and inked with Indian Corn Blue. Used up the scraps of this pink paper on this card :) Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too and I hope to see what you created real soon :)

Heart Shape Cards

Hello :) I had an order to do a couple cards from one of my coworkers. One for his fiancée and one for his daughter. He wanted them both personalized so I had fun once again with the sketch pens :) May have to start using these for some fun details on other projects :) I used a heart file for my cameo and in the software I duplicated the heart and welded together to make the card base. So both card bases came from my current counterfeit kit and worked out well for the cards:
His fiancée's was in the purplish and pink card and added some glittery pink hearts :)
The inside of the card, with the chosen sentiment that I got to work with in the heart. This came about from me trying to draw freehand in my silhouette software and use the heart shape for a cutout to cut the printed paper by hand in the right spot. So glad it worked out as well as it did :)
For his daughter I went with the blue tones:
I really like the way the blues of the cardstock, the pattern paper and the sketch pen worked together. I found these 3 glittery clear stars on a sticker set that I may be able to finish up real soon when I come across the pictures I want to use with it first :) Thinking I already have them printed.
The inside sentiment, I did the same technique as I did for the above heart. Yep an enjoyable project and my counterfeit kit had just the right paper for the cards.

As we are getting down to the end of the month, I have been working really hard on my goals for January and getting so close on some and so faraway on others, that I'll be crafting quite a bit over the next few days :) This also gives me insight to what I can do and can't for my crafty goals in the near future. The craft room well that may need another month to finish it up, but I had made some excellent headway last weekend and working on it Saturday again may get it just that much closer to getting finished up :) Have an enjoyable rest of the day and thank you for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world :)

A Couple of Cards I Did Yesterday

Hi you all :) I went to a virtual crop over the weekend with the girl that runs the Sketches in Thyme blogs
What a blast! we did fun games and lots of challenges :) and here are 2 of the cards that I did get a chance to make for the challenges:
Pink, Black, ribbon/twine, sequin/bling, and stamp challenge:
A card for my sweetie :)
The inside of the card will hold some special little notes of love to my hubby. I used my current counterfiet kit for pink paper, the ribbon came from my ribbon stash and the fun brads came from a collection of odd brads in my stash :) It feels great to be using up old stash.
The other challenge was Black & White, not something I typically do but the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group's week challenge was a sketch so that help make this a fun card to create :)
A birthday card for one of the boys in the family :) The stringed bow made me think of a string around your finger and that really helped me to decide on the type of card I wanted to do and then I found that 'a little reminder' stamp and thought that was a perfect way to start the front of the card sentiment :) The washi on the card for the top and bottom borders came from my current counterfeit kit.
The inside stamped and ready to go :)

Two—rrific Layout for Lasting Memories challenge

Hello again :) and welcome to my blog. I hope you all survived the Blizzard of 2016! Friends of ours got totally hit with the snow over 20" us only a dusting couldn't believe just an hour away what they got vs what we got. So I spent my Saturday sorting through some boxes in my craftroom and getting things either putaway or in a pile with like things for now till I decide what the next step is to do with them, I got through 7 boxes :) Yay!
Today's challenge over at Lasting Memories is the last one of this month of challenges with the focus on "New Beginnings" and today was anything goes with the New Beginnings theme. We are welcoming lots of Great Grandbabies in February. Yep nothing new for us now we went through this last year. But............
Twins! Now that is a different story for us and something very new for our side of the Campbell family. Sabrina was blessed with these 2 precious identical twin girls :) where twins run on her mother's side of the family. We are so excited to begin this new chapter of our life and she is delivering them here in Williamsport ! So we can go see them at the hospital (my heart skipped a beat when I heard that :) So I used my current counterfeit kit Brighter Year Ahead to create this layout. With all those great pinks in the kit it was a great base for this layout. I grabbed some stickers from my baby theme drawer and with the one sticker having blue in it I thought best to bring in some of the blue from the kit too. It did make a nice contrast from all that pink :) I used the current sketch over at ScrapMuch?

This sketch was so much fun to work with, all those layers :) I'm starting to favor more of that style sketch as I'm growing more in my scrapping and enjoying this new trend.
A closer picture of the twins :) and the journaling.
My title work is also created for a challenge over that the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group with the challenge of a Punny title which I think this works well working off of Terrific :)Which this event is Two—rrific :)
We hope you join us for this month's challenges, I look forward to seeing your linked up soon  :)

January CKC Member Blog Hop

Hello and Good Morning. Today is the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog January blog hop and you should have come to my blog from the talented Julene's blog :) So excited to go and see what Julene has done, but I'm excited to go and see what all the members have done. So if you are just now joining the hop you may want to go to Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to start at the beginning of the hop.  This month we could either do the challenges or we were able to show anything we wanted that was created with our kit that we have not shared yet on our blog. I chose to do a quick challenge with my kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:

I choose to do Challenge #3: Get your stamp on! Which I did with this fun stamp & die set from Hampton Art. I went to there site for some inspiration with this stamp set and I found this fun card and decided to lift is as they say :) You can see the original here if you would like.
I did the card in 3 different variations and a nice start to my Christmas card stash.
I did the cards as 5X5 and I used 2 different papers for the card bases and the pink spotted paper for the front mat. Grab some red from my stash for the back mat and added the green washi tape to 2 of them.
Each card has a different trim piece on it and this one got the pink stripe paper, just to get it off my desk :) I moved that piece around many times over the past month.
The metal button I thought was a nice touch to the card. Still need to add something to the inside but the fronts are done with repeat stamping :P
Thank you for stopping by today and now off you go to see what creativity that Lisa has going on over at her blog :) So excited to go and see what Lisa has done.

Happy Birthday Color Challenge for Funday Friday

Good Morning :) Well it looks like the forecast for the major snowstorm isn't hitting our area to badly as predicted at the beginning of the week, but looks like the southern and coastal area just may get walloped, you are all in my prayers that you stay safe and that it doesn't hit as hard as they are predicting.
Jo has changed up a few of the challenges this year and added some fun twists. Today's challenge is a color challenge with the extra added twist of embossing. Our sponsors for this challenge are Robyn's Fetish she is a new sponsor so lets give her a warm welcome and visit her store :) & Bugaboo. The Colors to use: Blue & Green, and you also use Embossing somewhere on the project. I made a cute Happy Birthday card for my card stash:
I have Blue and Green as part of my colors of the card and the embossing is dry embossing that is on the frosting of the die-cut cupcake I got in a swap a few years back :) I used Bugaboo's Happy Birthday Sentiment on my card. I used the current sketch over at Mojo Monday for my card with a turn counterclockwise in the orientation and it worked out fantastic :)

My card was created with  my current counterfeit kit Brighter Year Ahead and I added the cupcake die-cut from my stash of die-cuts, used my new Wink of Stella brush in the Glitter Blue for the ice cream part of the sentiment and also grabbed the blue stickles for the sentiment for the larger letters to give the card plenty of glitter.
The inside of my card:
Now it's ready to go to that special little girl in April for her Birthday :) Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a fantastic weekend :) I've got a couple of layouts I want to create yet today and a weekend spent on getting my scraproom a bit more organized (yep still working on it :) Fingers-crossed that I get it finished up this weekend.

Emily's 1st Ball Pit

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today is day of many 1st's going on :) Happy 1st Birthday to our Great Granddaughter Emily Ann, thank goodness for facebook it's the one way we get to see her and seen her growth throughout this year, long distance seems to complicate seeing her in person.
Today is also my 1st reveal day as a Stick It Down DT with their Double Page team :) and the layout I did features our Birthday Girl :) Emily's 1st Ball Pit
normally someone on the team creates an original sketch, but this month they went with this beauty from Page Maps, one from December, 2010: Jan 16 sketch
What a fantastic sketch to start off the New Year with :) This particular day it was to cold to swim so Jessica made a ball pit out of the floaty for Emily, soooooo darn cute when I seen the pictures on facebook. So glad I printed these off awhile back cause it was perfect for this sketch.
I used my Brighter Year Ahead counterfeit kit for my layout it had the perfect colors to go with the pictures, drawing in on the pinks and the blues of the floaty. The fun border was made from some polka dot paper that I was able to punch with my 1" circle punch and created it just about the same as in the sketch. I added bits and pieces from a variety of beachy theme stickers I had, even finished off one package (woohoo!)
She was definitely having fun playing with the balls in the pit :)
 The journaling
I added the cute die cut I got in a swap a few years ago
The title work. The sketch is as playful as this layout :) So I hope you'll join us over at Stick It Down
for their Double Page challenge, yes it would be great if you joined in for their other challenges too :)

Winter Cards for Funday Friday Sketch Challenge

Hi you all, it's been that type of week, loss of a family member doesn't make crafting easy but it is a way to get a break from the grieving for just a little bit. Today's card, actually cards are for this week's sketch challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps and the card I made:
The sketch this week is:

I used Little Blue Button Stamps Journaling cards for Christmas set for my sentiment and used the snowman from the journaling card on the inside of the card :)

The inside of the card with sentiment
I also created this card too :) If you are going to cut cardstock in half might as well make 2 cards then :) also gets me closer to my monthly goal.

Instagram LO for Lasting Memories challenge

Good Morning to you :) I hope you are having a fine weekend. Mine was up and down but got some things done, the laundry is done :) my craftroom well that is a work in progress. I belong to a facebook group Our Happy Scrappin' Place and starting today is "Our Organization Challenge will be from Jan. 10th thru 20th. We'll be working on several areas of organization from photos to physical organization. We'll get our spaces cleaned up to start a creative year together!" I'm really looking forward to this challenge :) and maybe a great spruce up of the craftroom. If I can locate things when I need them then the challenge worked :)

This week's new challenge over at Lasting Memories is "Anything Goes" with a New Beginning theme

When you get to my age finding something that is a new beginning in my life is a hard subject for a challenge :) You know what I mean "been there done that" is part of my language, but after thinking a few days and then thinking some more it dawned on me that I got the new smartphone last year. Now this is something new for me, my only need for a cell phone was exactly that a phone and if it had a camera then it was an added bonus. Well I keep hearing about instagram and kept seeing photos from instagram and some of the facebook groups I'm in wanted you to upload pictures and tag them in instagram, well thought best to check it out. After getting on the main site and it wanted a phone to attach it's app too then I knew it was time for a new phone. So I talked with my DIL Andrea about the straight talk plan and she said they also have refurbish phones you could buy at a cheaper price I started to check it out. She also sent me some links and after deliberating about it I found one phone I would try out you know "test the water" as they say. So now I have a smartphone and I Love It! But Instagram :) what a fun program and takes a better picture with the same camera on the phone than taking it with the phone camera alone. So my new journey has begun. For the layout I went to ScrapMuch? and used their January 8 sketch for the inspiration for my layout:
I was able to use one of the blocks for my journaling and the pictures took over the other blocks. This is a really fun layering type sketch and will need to keep this around a bit for future layouts. Since this topic is about a camera app I made sure that the layout was full of camera motifs
The background paper started you off with the camera and the star in the bottom corner, a couple that were fussy cut out of a cut apart sheet and then the pink camera pattern paper for one of the layers. I added a little journaling block about my first photo I took with the app. This layout also qualifies for the Say Cheese challenge in the yahoo group Scrappin N Chattin.
The title work, with some fun fussy cutting layers. I also added in the journal block my current stats on instagram. I used my current counterfeit kit "Brighter Year Ahead"
A closer picture of my journaling. These are just a few of my favorite photos at the moment. I do enjoy having the smartphone with me on walks with Buddy, easier to carry than the larger camera and the pictures come out pretty darn good, it took a bit to figure out how to do the pictures better than my first few and it was really nice to have the camera phone available for Christmas photos this year. Well that is me in a nutshell :) It really doesn't take much to make me happy. I'll be so happy to see your creation over at Lasting Memories too. Another layout to add to my 'All About Me' album :)
I'm also adding this to a new challenge blog: More Than Words: January challenge: Personality & Selfie.
http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com.au/I've notice since I have joined instagram that the photos I take are more of the happenings in my life and that is part of my personality, just as when I was a teen my personality then was totally different than what it is now :)(What does the word "PERSONALITY" inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired to create from it.  Please explain in your blog post how it inspired you, if not already obvious. )

26 Books in 2016 Reading Challenge

Happy Birthday today to my oldest Son :) You know your getting old when your oldest is getting closer to his 40s. He's got a few years yet, but....... But I did want to wish him a Happy Birthday before I started this post :)

The new list is up for 26 Books in 2016 Reading Challenge

I'm looking forward to trying this challenge again :) Even though I didn't complete the whole challenge last year, I did have fun and enjoyment reading again :) What made this challenge fun was I was READING again :) also finding a book to match up with the challenge. I was reading books I wouldn't normally read and I see the list for this year is gonna be just as fun. Per Erin  "Going into 2016 - even if you don't think 26 books is a manageable number for you to complete...or even if some of the prompts don't interest you - give it a go! Once you get started, you might surprise yourself! No amount of reading is ever a FAILURE in my book." Well said Erin :) So this year she has a check off list

OK - HERE are 2016's prompts!!

Now to decide on which one I want to read first ................

Will you give it a go?

Emily's 1st Birthday card for Funday Friday

Hi you all, It's been a busy week being the 1st week back to work after the holiday, very productive but busy just the same. I have started my goal process and so far the crafty goals are working well, now the personal goals not so well :) I think out of the few I had for the week I had only 1 checked off. So something to work on. Posting a bit late sorry about that, it's not that the card wasn't done (that's been done since Monday, so proud of myself on that part for that goal :) But I never considered adding blogging into my schedule :) Something to look at next week even if I spend on whole day doing it. So one week at a time it is working :)
Today is Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack the theme this week is Anything Goes and our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.
My card is one I made for my Great-granddaughter Emily's 1st birthday on the 19th. She loves elephants per her Mom's choice at the moment I'm thinking :) Jessica seems to like them too. It's been a fun year watching her grow up through the way of facebook and a 1st year album is in the works. But back to the card I made:
I knew I had an Elephant cricut cut in my die cuts collection cause this was the die cut I made for the swaps the one month. So with that die cut in hand and my new counterfeit kit Brighter Year Ahead to work with I went looking for the papers to use for the card. I also seen this email from Mojo Monday for their current sketch and use that for inspiration for my card:

It had alot of fun elements and that big circle too (a challenge from the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo site was to use a circle on your card so this one was definitely calling me. I found this pink splattered with cream pattern paper in my kit for the backdrop of the card and I used my happy birthday cuddlebug folder to give it dimension. Also found this fun scrap of cupcake paper that was just perfect for the card and that circle, inked it up with Picked Raspberry distress ink also used that same ink for the sentiment on the card
I used the SU That's the Ticket stamp set with the ticket punch too. This stamp set has finally seen it's first ink on it. Yep I'm working those things in that have not been used :) Trying to emphasis on atleast a few each month. Same with the embossing folders I have so many of them but have yet to even give them a try. As you can see that is going to change this year. I grabbed that pink strip washi tape that was never opened and got that on the card too :) The 1 and the st are from 2 different alphas in my current kit.
The inside of the card:
I brought that same pink into the inside and the pink stripe washi tape. I found this scrap of foil patteren paper while looking in my Happy Birthday Theme paper drawer and found that it had the one pink candle so used my circle punch on that and added it to the card. The sentiment is a CTMH stamp and I used Spun Sugar distress ink for that. Well the 1st card of the month done :) This one was a fun one to do :) Have a great weekend.... get a bit crafty if you can
So make sure to play along this week~
