Best Day Ever

LOAD817mini Day 6 was a double page layout for this prompt: In Now and Then Roberta pretends that she drowns to play a joke on her friends. Chrissy isn’t impressed, and lets her know with a right hook! Scrap about a joke or surprise. You can feature a happier surprise… and not one that ends with a right hook!
We do like to have fun preparing for the annual Easter Egg hunt and it's interesting what Dave comes up with for tricks to play on the kids :) Really isn't that what an hunt is for to hunt for the objects :)
These were some pictures that I took during the prep work for the Easter Egg Hunt this past year. Some of the hidden things were the packs of twizzlers and this one was hidden in the tree, there were 4 packs all together that was hidden :)
The left side of t he layout has Dave placing around the eggs and some of the  spots we added eggs.
The right side a selfie of me and the broom corn field that was from last year's growing season :) It made for a great place to hide the eggs :) and our usually chip/snack tree :)
I had fun with the journaling in strips. I used alot of Close to My Heart Hopscotch workshop for the layout and that teal ribbon :) I still have some of the left.
A close up of the flowering bush and the twizzlers hidden inside it :) 1 more layout to document for LOAD817 mini and I'm done posting for the day :)

200 Years

LOAD817mini Day 7 prompt: Now and Then shows us that adventures out in the sun are a great way to make memories. Show us what you’ve been enjoying out in the beautiful sunshine!
This was one of our Summer Adventures this summer:
This was a few hours that we were in Milton, PA for their 200 year festivies :) Milton is a great old tow and lots to see but Dave wasn't feeling it that day and we got there when it was just ending so another walk through the town another day for me.
 My journaling
I had fun using one of the pictures for an embellishment and that included the date that it was incorporated for the 200th year :)
Close up of the pictures. The top row is of the old Train Station what it looks like Now and Then :) Fitting for the title of this LOAD :) the bottom row was a few other sites during our walk. I used more of the Close to My Heart Hopscotch workshop for this layout too. It was nice to have the collection available to do up the layout quickly :) I used my last month's counterfeit kit: Geometric Splatter for the layout.

Playtime Memories

Another layout, another sketch challenge :) This came from day 4 of LOAD817mini. In Now and Then  the girls work together to buy a treehouse, a true symbol of childhood. What iconic symbols of childhood have untold stories in your life?
Barbie dolls were very iconic in my childhood :) Some of my favorite memories of my childhood was around playing with my Barbie dolls. I also had the little Dawn dolls too :) I'm thinking these photos are from around 1973 when I was around 11 years old.
I used the Jump Start sketch over at the ScrapRoom blog

This was a funs sketch and so many layers :) I used an old paper pad for a few of my papers and I used buttons and stickers from my counterfeit kit last month: Geometric Splatter
Close up of the layers and photos
 The journaling:
Thanks for stopping by again today :)

Anyplace is Paradise

Hello once again :) This layout is also from LOAD817mini Day3: Now and Then has a fun soundtrack that will get you dancing on your bike. (from the movie) What music or sounds are part of your summer stories?
This summer this is my favorite :) Some great finds at a recent yardsale has been rockin my world lately and if that doesn't rock then I listen to my favorite radio station.
I used the sketch #94 over at The Memory Nest for the layout:
This was a fun one to use for scraps with the layering :) I also used my counterfeit kit: Geometric Splatter and the background came from my pile of 100 patterned papers :)
 My journaling
Picture of the recent CDs I found at a yard sale :) So glad to see some great music lately at yard sales.
The title of the layout came from an Elvis Presley song title :) This covers a challenge over at the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group :)

Snow Day

Yes these photos were taken on a Snowy Day :) The layout came about from LOAD 817 Mini: Now and Then Day 5: In Now and Then the friends learn to embrace their differences and individuality. Show us something you do or enjoy that is a little off the beaten path or makes you unique. I've done many layouts about my uniqueness so now I'm starting to pull from conversations that I have with people I work with. I find that my many hobbies make me unique in that where I am working at there aren't many that know what I'm talking about with I say I'm a scrapper or a Birder :) These were taken in 2016, since I have started birding I have honed in on my camera skills and my listening skills, now to go a bit father next year and travel away from the house to see the birds.
I used the sketch #288 over at Sketches in Thyme for my layout:
I love sketches like this tha have more than 1 or 2 photos on it :)
 My journaling
Close up of 2 of the photos. The felt birdhouse came off a Christmas gift bag one year and I was glad to finally be able to use it on a layout :) That has been out a few times but just didn't work till now. I used my counterfeit kit from last month: Geometric Splatter
Close up of the other 2 pictures. Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I've been doing :)

New Job New Life Changes for a Use Your Stuff challenge

Good Morning. Today we have a challenge over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog. We were challenge to this theme: Vacation is over and the real life and a regular daily rhythm take over, be it school / college / work / new job. For this challenge you can use any medium and any format, ATC, icad, layout, greeting card or journal page.
I chose to do a layout using a picture I took of the computer screen where I work that had my photo for new hire in October 2016. After starting in June 2016 as a temporary worker I got hired on full time in October:
I used Simple Stories Daily Grind collection with a piece of cardstock for my foundation paper, it's a been a fun month challenge over at 100 pattern papers FB group using cardstock this month reminds me of when I first started scrapping :)
I used the sketch  No. 91 over at The Memory Nest for my layout:

It was fun using all the circles on my background of the layout.

I'm the one in the center of  the screen. There were 6 of us that got hired in October.
I enjoyed using cutaparts for one of my embellishments on my layout as well as the brads and stickers
The title came from the 2 different alphas from the sticker sheet that came from the collection. Thee new life changes are going from a weekly paycheck to a biweekly paycheck, really learning how to budget my money better to get me through 2 weeks and to get my bills paid on time.
Just have scraps now from that collection so the cardstock is a good background for the scraps. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to see what you create for this fun challenge over at Use Your Stuff.

Friends Forever for Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge

Good morning :) Prayers go out to all that are in Hurricane Harvey's path. I can understand a bit of how vicious and devastating water can be especially from hurricanes.

We are canning tomatoes this weekend as it's Little League weekend and seems to be a tradition of ours here at the house to watch the game on the tube and can tomatoes. But today is also a new challenge month over at Lasting Memories. This month's theme is All About Patterns and today's challenge is Use some polka dots on your layout somewhere.
This layout was created for this summer's LOAD Mini: Now and Then (is the movie that the prompts were based from). This layout is Day 1: Now and Then is all about friendship. Create a layout about a friendship in your life, either current, past, or one that’s lasted through the years. Beth is my bestest friend since I can remember. She stood by me and helped me through one of the roughest times in my life, being a mother at 16. We met during Kindergarten and been together throughout our youth and teen years. Drifting apart when we got married, but always seem to get reacquainted at various jobs and now on social media.
I used the sketch Make it Monday No. 92 over at The Memory Nest for the layout:

This was a fun sketch to play with and the DT had alot of variations of the sketch to help you with the sketch.
My journaling block. A little bit on how Beth and I met and our life together as friends. So many memories I have with this girl and shame we don't have the pictures available to tell those memories. One advantage the kids have nowadays with the phones and social media.
I used my last month counterfeit kit for the layout including the buttons that I added to the kit :) Geometric Splatter I was glad that I left the kit on my desk and it got used quite abit this month versus last month. Shame I think this month was the 1st month I haven't created a kit since I started following Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog but will be back into it next month :)
It was fun using the different 6 X ^papers on the layout and 3 of the 4 had polka dots with in the pattern design. I used a project life card, lots of stickers from my newest purchase at the Dollar Tree and the CTMH chipboard pieces. A gold doily for the center to bring the 4 parts of the layout together.
Beth and I at 16 yrs old, late spring or early summer of 1979, besties for life :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun challenge this week linked up over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge

Snowy Merry Christmas for Funday Friday

Good Morning and welcome :) Today is Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the theme is Always Anything Goes! Today's Sponsor is Sunny Studio Stamps
I created alot of Christmas Cards last month for Christmas in July and this was one of them:
I had some fun creating this card using some cardsock, embossing folder, snowflakes, stickles and that wooden lookalke chipboard piece. added a scrap of ricrac to it and I got one of my favorite Christmas cards I made out of 31 for July. this was created for a challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group for a bare tree, a stamp I don't have :) but the chipboard piece worked out perfect for it.
Another angle of the Christmas card to see all those textures. Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Jo's Scrap Shack

Indo-Pacific Aquarium

Hello, and welcome back to another post today for Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenges. This is their last challenge for August and the theme for August has been "All About Animals" and this week our challenge is:
LM #358 - In The Sea - Include an animal from the sea on your layout (fish, dolphin, sea horse, sea turtle, etc.) Can be in the photos, stickers/embellishments, or on the paper.

This is the layout I created for the challenge:
It was cool when we were going through the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY that the one section had this cool Aquarium. For my layout I used my counterfeit kit from last month:  Geometric Splatter. I used a sketch Make it Monday No. 93 from the Memory Nest for my layout:
Cool one to use up some scrap paper
Some of the journaling and the cool embellishments I was able to use :)
The rest of my journaling and my title
 Close up of the photos
I had fun creating this layout and loved that I was able to use a variety of patterns and colors to match what was happening in the tank too with the variety of corals and fish. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I am up to in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenges.

Best Wishes for a Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning, so sorry about being so quiet here on the blog but have been busy creating and sharing on my instagram. Will catch up the blog here next week with all that I've been doing. But today we have this fantastic sketch for Sketch N Scrap card challenge:
No automatic alt text available.
Such a sweet sketch from Lisa and this is what I created with it:
The printed tag led me to the colors I chose for my card and the papers came from my counterfeit kit last month :) I used a bit of washi tape for the side borders on the striped pattern paper.
I carried the sketch into the inside to using the same paper:
Now just need to add the paper with stamp and a message and it's ready to go. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to see your creation linked up over at Sketch N Scrap
You can find more sketches over at our crop event page too:

Alum Bank Tractor Ride

Good Morning if you are looking for the Sketch N Scrap post you'll find it here.

Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style has a new challenge sketch this week:

No automatic alt text available.
Great little sketch, I used it for the date card on my layout:
I used alot of bits from both the Simple Stories 24/7 collection and from my counterfeit kit last month: Geometric Splatter, I used a few of the 6X6 papers that I had in the kit. Lots of stickers from the 24/7 collection too.
This is the layout I created:
This is the beginning page to the Tractor Ride we took with the Alum Bank Tractor Show. As you can see I'm with one of my friends Jack Horner on his tractor taking in the sights and getting pictures. But this layout was focus more around me as I'm not usually in the pictures but behind the camera taking pictures for the newsletter.
I was a fun ride seeing the area and glad I could spend it seeing it from Jack's tractor instead of the wagon :)
My journaling pot I used the same paper that I used for my date card. This layout was also created for LOAD817Mini: Show us the fun that puts a smile on your face and makes you laugh, well the Turkey surely made me LOL that days.
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style
