Friends LO

Hi you all I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. I did some craftin, cleanin, cookin and socailizin. We had a blast over at Brad and Katherine's on Saturday and lost of pictures to scrap about it. I finished this layout today for LOAD:
This is from today's LOAD prompt: Our Song: Our Song can be applied to so much more than our husbands and boyfriends. We have songs associated with girlfriends, holidays, special events and even last goodbyes. What memory does “Our Song” evoke?
Le Freak was a popular song during 1978 that we just love to skate too. Yep when I hear that song on the radio, I still want to get up and move! but not on skates. My best bud and I went skatin every Friday if I could gather up the money to go, Tim was always there :) Tim and I met through friends, we became the best of friends always hangin out together. We'll back the the rink, they would have overnight skates and usually around 2 AM most of us would start gettin tired and when they put this song on, Le Freak, we were up and movin again.
I used the May 1 sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. I rotated the sketch 1/2 turn counterclockwise for my photo placement. I used Sketch #80
I used all Close to my Heart products too including ink :)
Most of the layout came from ProPlayer Workshop on the Go, it had this fun stamp set included in the Workshop.
I need to get to the local Library and get better pictures, these are from our Sophomore year in High School and I got the pictures online at classmates.com. I used 3 of the Picture My Life cards from the same ProPlayer line and I used this one to emphasis this picture. Capture the corner detail with some of the glitter paper, embellishments from the kit and a sequin.
Another Picture My Life card for the title block, I used the stamp set I pulled for this month's counterfeit kit for the title of the layout. The embellishments came from the workshop added more sequins too in this spot.
The last Picture My Life card for the journaling block with added embellishments. This was a fun one to do and was glad that this prompt help to bring this story to life a bit.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my corner of the world.

Saturday Night

Hi you all :) This layout came about from LOAD prompt that happened on Mother's Day and so fitting for the layout I ended up doing about my Mom. Mom and I had a special friendship that I am very thankful for. She's been gone now almost 14 years and the past couple years I have finally been able to start scrapping about her. It's comforting to scrap about her too. So on with the project this is for Lasting Memories: Anything Goes challenge with Life Affirmations.
This layout came about from the LOAD prompt: Personal Favorite: What was your favorite album as a teen? Incorporate it into your layout with color and font inspired by the album.
This was one of my favorite albums as a teen:
So I had some fun creating the layout to try to have a similar look. Got out my square 1" punch and started punches lots of squares from scraps:
I found this cute sticker on one of my sticker sheets and thought is was perfect to go with the story behind the title and pictures of the layout.
So I went with Thickers for the title and I went with a grid style center to look like that large block they used for their photo on the album. Lots of 1" squares all around the layout :) I also fussy cut some stars and scattered them about the layout too. Guess it's been a good month for stars I had alot of variety of them in my stash.
Mom and I went out dancing often on Saturday Nights.
The journaling as I found out with posting the layout that I misspelled a word and also missed a word , now corrected on my layout. I used a PL card to put the journaling on. I used my current counterfeit kit for my layout plus lots of scraps in my stash.
Thanks Mom for being there for me for everything I needed in life. You were the one person that never left me down. I know it's not Mother's Day, but when I did the layout is was. Happy Mother's day Mom

Oh Hello Life LO for May CKC bloghop

Hello you all :) and welcome to this month's blog hop from Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I can't believe we are almost at the end of the month and I got lots of May's kit to work with yet. You should have come to my blog by way of the amazing Susan and her flicker page.
The 3 challenges this month are:

Challenge #1:  Roll The Dice:  Bethany rolled the dice back in 2012 and chose a challenge to make a fashion inspired card
Challenge #2:  Back To School: School supplies, school photos, school memories ... you choose.
Challenge #3:  No Photo Challenge: Forget the photos on your layout!

And there were a whole host of NSD Challenges to join in with as well!

I chose one from their NSD challenges. I did the very first challenge: Mojo Inspiration I followed along with Wilma's video and did a layout based on how she was doing her layout and it was really a fun process to do :)
So my layout is also based on yesterday's LOAD prompt too Liner Notes: To DIE For: The album liner was to DIE for, filled with more pictures and details about our teenage heartthrobs. Use a DIE cut to give your page the feel of an album liner, since we all know the album liners are the scrapbooks of our record albums. It's really ironic how the layout fits this prompt so well too.
Wilma's video had you start off with 9 project life cards cut to 3X3 size and then she worked on each one
showing it's own story. I used my present kit and parts of past kits for the embellishing of the cards
This is the one die cut I wanted to use for the layout and the picture. The rest of the layout was based around what I learned from her video.

I found this one picture in the box and it was fun to make the layout around the picture and that die cut next to the picture. Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of the blog hop. Off you go and check out what Mater Forger Leslie is doing today for her challenge. I hope you come and join us for June's kit reveal on the 1st of June and play along with us :)

I Will Always Love You

Hi you all :) Today is my 22nd Wedding Anniversary so it's fitting that I make sure this layout is posted today. This was from our wedding day, our first dance. This is my 2nd layout from my Wedding Album and it's looking like I'll be scrapping my album. After scanning the original pictures in and I did a quick fix I notice the program lighten up the photo and looks extremely better so thinking I should do the same with the rest of the photos too. I did the layout with this prompt from LOAD:Popular: What was the most popular song when you were born? Or when you were married? What kind of memories does that song bring up for you?
I went with the year we got married. I was surprised to find out the most popular song that year was the same song we did our first dance to.
I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston, was the song. My layout came about from a scraplift of one of the girls over at Scrappin and Chattin, it was her layout that had that huge heart for a backdrop that I wanted to mimic in my layout.
Here is the post of Kim's layout that I scraplifted: http://me-makimsplace.blogspot.com/2015/02/you-make-my-heart-smile.html :
The paper comes form my current kit and this will eventually be a 2 pg layout with the other side holding the original pictures and the one extra of the matron of honor and the best man. I found the chipboard heart in the box that I have been working out of. There are some wedding photos in there but not these.
These came from our Wedding Album.
I made sure to include in the bottom corner a little bit of information about the song and the date we got married.
I had fun creating the title, using a variety of fonts and that Love chipboard piece.
Thanks for stopping y one more time today, enjoy your day and your weekend....

Today's Your Birthday

Good Morning and happy Friday to you all. Ready for the long holiday weekend? I am! I've got quite a bit to do today with the salads I need to make, but first it is..... Funday Friday! Yep the fun challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. This week's challenge is torn edges. It can be a card, a layout or project with torn edges, easy enough :) This week's sponsor is The Cutting Cafe. I used their file Birthday Greeting inside and out:
This is the card for my Grandson's birthday in July. Over at Scrappin and Chattin this week's card was to be red/white/blue so that is the theme of this July card, fitting actually for the month. I also used the challenge sketch over at the yahoo group for my card.

This was a fun one to do.
Another look at the front of the card. I popped up the hat on foam. I used my Jan/Feb counterfeit kit for this card.
Brought the papers and some stars into the inside. Thanks for stopping by today...
