Good Day :) and welcome back to my blog. The weather here today is just beautiful and they are calling for warmer weather tomorrow :) So got to get laundry washed and hung today. But for now I want to share my layout that I did for the challenge over at

LM 283 - ANYTHING GOES

So I used Gold for the statue and Red for the red carpet at the Oscars
I had so much fun with the Landmark prompts over at LOAD last month that I compiled some extra ideas for layouts from those prompts :) So cool to be able to continue LOAD my own way right now ;) This also works for the challenge over at Whimsical Musings this week for Challenge #202 to be inspired by extra, for the extra ideas for layouts from those prompts fits this prompt so well :)
The essence of the sketch is there with the extra journaling every thing got moved up and the circle embellishment (the baseball) got moved to fit my layout.
Carl E. Stotz was the founder of Little League Baseball here in Williamsport, PA, We just recently celebrated our 75 Anniversary of Little League. If it weren't for this man, it may have never happen. Little League runs in most Williamsporters blood, many of us have someone in our family that was part of the beginning, my father was one and that is a story for another day. There has been many books that have been written about Carl and what he did for Little League and the controversy of Little League and how they parted ways.So when I seen this week's challenge I knew that I wanted to do a layout about that statue of him.
This wonderful statue can be found at the Northern end of the Little League complex. you will greet him as your walking into the complex and right before you get to Volunteer Field. He was definitely the 1st volunteer with a few other relatives to help him out with coaching the first 3 teams.
It's great to see Little League finally embracing what all Carl E. Stotz did for Little League. Through many events leading up the 75 Anniversary the city and Little League has put many things in place to honor Carl E. Stotz. I'm glad to honor him in a way that I can through scrapbooking :)
I used my current counterfeit kit, Camera Crazy for my layout and this was the 1st layout I did for Calvinball, but could not show it till today.
Another awesome landmark layout and story all about it. I've loved learning all about you hometown.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great layout. You really honor your subject. It is going to be wonderful to have all of the history layouts Of your town. It is truly a subject that I have never considered before. I love the idea of scrapping themes other than family photos. Thank you for the inspiration.

Oh Tina, I love this layout and glad that you continued on with the "load" prompts to scrap more about your town. I loved reading the journaling and learning more myself!! Thanks for sharing these wonderful layouts with us and for sharing your towns as well. Hugs, Brenda
