New Techinique with this Layout

Hi you all :) As I'm following along with Nicole's Demystifying Clustering, I have also been trying what she is doing in here class. For class #4 she did a gesso and inking technique that I have seen alot of it being done on youtube. So thought well might as well give it a try too.
This layout is inspired by Whimsical Musing Challenge #32 - Inspired by a relationship not yet scrapped I'm surprised I had not yet scrapped this relationship between Astacia and Avery they do have a close bond, that is rare to see :) At-least seeing it from my point of view, my relationship with my brothers didn't really blossom till later in life, we were close but not this close :) as friends till we became adults.
Astacia and Avery, Mom and Dad had some special photos done of the grandkids and I just loved this one :) Shows that special relationship that these 2 have :) I used alot of embellishments from my current counterfeit kit Camera Crazy, plus past kits too.
A picture of the new technique, gesso and inking. I had never done that before and finally opened up my container of gesso for the 1st time even after having it in my counterfeit kits many times :) Now I need to get some of the clear gesso like Nicole was using.
The title fit the layout very well :) I have to thank scrapbook.com for that it's a great place to get some title ideas. The medium cluster of the layout is here. For starting with yellow and black for my main color and then adding green in the color of Avery's shirt in the photo was a perfect addition to the layout.
 The journaling spot.
The larger cluster with the frame that I misted in citron color shine, it really gave a cool effect to the white frame :) may have to do some misting to the other frames too. I'm surprised how often I have used this color since I got it for Christmas. Lots of florals and a bow too from the Maggie Holmes Flea market collection, glad to have finally been using the chipboard and bows from that collection.
The smallest cluster with another flower and the yellow color sequins for a splash of bling, doodled a black line along the edge seem to make a nice frame to the layout. This layout was so out of my comfort zone, but was actually a breeze when I was doing it along with the teacher and so easy to do :) Will be doing this again. Thank you for stopping by today and another layout done for Calvinball. I've got a few more to post, maybe tonight or maybe tomorrow we'll see how the rest of the evening goes :)

  1. Oh Tina, I am so loving this layout! I love how you married masculinity with feminine. The paper choices are so fun and I love the color combo's. Love the flowers clusters and that bow too. The frame is really cool sprayed like that, I will have to give that a try sometime. But it is that picture that I love most of all! What a sweet picture of brother and sister. You are right, not something you see very often at this age. I love that they are close like that, it speaks volumes! Hugs, Brenda
