Needed Photo

LOAD1016 Day 16: Prompt was a mood board, I had used the colors of the mood board for this layout:
During a visit with Brad and Tristan, right before they were leaving, Brad said that Katherine needed a photo of Tristan with a tractor, hmmm wonder what she's up too! But we were happy to obliged and the chosen tractor was right out or front door :) the Allis-Chalmers doesn't get as much photo attention as the Molines do so this was cool to get another one of the tractors in a photo. I journaled both around the photo on the edge of the brown paper and also on the tag spot .
The journaling spot and Dave and I with Tristan
Brad and Tristan
I used sketch #224 over at Sketches in Thyme for this layout :)
This was such a cool layout :) 1 I will use over again :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and also from the 100 patterned paper challenge I used 2 pieces of pattern paper.

Quite the Pair

LOAD1016 Day 11: The Main Course: we will concentrate on the story. I love to take pictures of birds that come to the feeder, we'll I got a story about these 2, quite the Pair they are:
These are a pair of Carolina Wrens and they decided to make a nest out back in our charcoal bisque bag, really! yes really! I was so glad to tell this story from this past year, it was quite and event for awhile. The male protected the nest with loud sharp whistles from the wire that goes from our house to the pole. No easy sleeping for this gal while this was going on. We did alot of research about this bird and come to find out they like to nest near people so next year we will put up a nesting box that I got for Christmas just for them to use :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power for the layout and also was my 100 patterned paper challenge with using up 2 piece of paper and lots of scraps.
In used sketch #223 over at Sketches in Thyme:

Z on the Pedal Tractor

LOAD1016 Day 7 prompt: Using up spent alphas:
Zachary on the pedal tractor that Dave got for Brad, that Brad has passed down to the kids to have fun with. A beautiful fall day in October 2015 I seen this picture on Katherine's FB feed, grabbed it and here it is :) I used my current counterfeit collection : Flower Power and also these papers are from m 100 Patterned Paper Challenge with using 3 papers and lots of scraps for the layering.
This layout was put together with the help of this sketch #222 over at Sketches In Thyme:

Visit Ithaca Let's Go!

This layout is jammed packed just like our day trip to Ithaca, NY was. I put in a little bit from each place we had visited that day. This will be the beginning pages to the trip we took up to Ithaca. the layout comes from LOAD1016 Day 22 prompt: Try something fresh-use your newest products on your page. So this layout was created entirely from Shimelle's newest collection Go Now Go! I fell in love with this collection as soon as I seen it and knew I had to have it :) This is the 1st time I bought a collection on preorder :) I usually wait for the sales. I used the sketch over at Let's Scrap for the inspiration of this layout.
We went to 4 different places that day and then dinner at a local restaurant before heading back home :)
The left hand side of the layout
The right hand side of the layout :) Made sure to include a picture of me as this was my birthday gift from Dave, the trip :)
This Farmer's Market is next to this gorgeous waterfront :) I love seeing the birds out in the water.
A little blurp about the Museum of the Earth. The dinosaur skeletons were amazing to see :) and just a couple of hours away from us.
Ithaca is all about the gorges Wow and just the one we saw was amazing! There is so many more there to see that it would take more than one day to see them :) but I expect a trip up in the spring to see some more of these beautiful gorges and waterfalls. Our last stop of the day was at the Marina and Dog Park. Beautiful fall foliage there and fun to see the sailboats head out to the lake through the channel.
I used the sketch over at Let's Scrap to create this 2 page layout:
This was perfect for all those spots for the brochures write ups of the area we saw and my own personal journaling of it too.

A Day At The Museum

Another layout from LOAD1016 Day 26 prompt: Today we were to pay attention to the "sides" of our layout. I was also inspired by the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. Dave went to Ithaca for work and that night he was telling about the city and some of the things going on there. So he basically planned a day out for my Birthday to Ithaca, NY we went up on the Sunday after my Birthday and tried to cram all that could be crammed in that day it a short period of time :) But we had a blast for 6 full hours seeing some of the sights in Ithaca. This was one of the places we wanted to check out when we did an internet search of Ithaca to make some kind of plan for the day.
I took so many photos that day at the Museum of the Earth that I'll have a few layouts from there. This is the starting layout for that section of Ithaca, NY day-trip. I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and I got to use that sticky note that was in the kit along with some wood veneers from The Hello World collection from My Mind's Eye. I used 3 papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge.
 My journaling
Part of the brochure for a sub-title cluster and we got a few pressed pennies from here that were included on the layout. I do look out for things that I can use for layouts when we visit places. Picture of me by way of the window, taking a picture of the one skeleton that will be a future exhibit that is under construction at this time. But we did get to see some of the early bits of this exhibit.
This was the 1st thing you seen when you went into the Museum of the Earth.
The hubby next to one of the statues outside of the Museum. The large title cluster.
The sketch I used #115
I turned it to work for me and my layout, this one is a good one to have around for other layouts :)

I Enjoy

Hello again :) This is the Layout that stared off the month of October. This is from LOAD1016 Day 1 prompt: peck into your pantry (stash) & choose some of your favorite ingredients for this-all-about-you layout:
I had a blast creating this layout :) for the start of LOAD1016 and the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap was the perfect one to use for this. A snapshot of me at this moment in my of my life of what I enjoy. The title came from a challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group for one of their challenges :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Powers and 2 papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge.
The sketch that I used:
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I've been creating a few more posts will be coming soon :) Laundry 1st though :)

1st Pumpkin Patch

Good Morning :)
This layout was made from doing LOAD1016 Day 20: Prompt was Dessert-Fancy :) A well-dressed page and Lisa Hausmann was the featured member that day :) Lisa is the best I've seen when it comes to layering and adding clusters of bits and bobs. She has the blog Whimsical Musings and she also in now in charge of Counterfeit Challenge Blog :) Very inspiring. Whimsical Musings Challenge #39 Inspired by Clusters
I used Lisa's layout from LOAD516 for my inspiration for this layout:
Really enjoyed doing this layout ans so glad that I had fun inspiration to do it :) The layering and clustering is a technique I've been learning and refining and Lisa's got the inspiration to learn from.
 My journaling
 The top layer
Our beautiful Great Grandaughter Emily enjoying her 1st Pumpkin Patch :)  I used both my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and I was able to use up quite a few papers from my 100 Paper Patterned Challenge :) Thanks for stopping by.

Best Day Ever

Some quick blog posts to make sure I get these layouts into their challenges that are ending very shortly over at Let's Get Sketchy.
This is from the sketch of week 1 and LOAD1016 Day 3 prompt was to use Ink. I used the ink for stamping, my hand journaling and misting on the layout. My Granddaughter Jessica:
Just 6 years ago, she got her license at 15 (she lives in South Dakota), now she's all grown up with a couple of girls of her own :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power for the layout and used the stamp set that I included in the kit for the words and some of the cutouts too. I used paper too from the stack of 100 Patterned Paper Challenge for the layout ( I used 4 papers for this layout). This also could be used for one of the prompts in The 20 Project class I took of Shimelle's.
The sketch I used over at Let's Get Sketchy was from Week 1:
I really like this layout and think I'll keep around abit and do it again :)
 My journaling
 Miss Sassy!
I love how this title block turned out :)
Thanks for checking out what I'm creating

This is the Good Life

Some quick blog posts to make sure I get these layouts into their challenges that are ending very shortly over at Let's Get Sketchy.
This is from the sketch of week 4 and LOAD1016 Day 24 prompt was to use texture paste?!! what! yes I have some and yes I never tried any, so went to the scraphappy facebook group and asked how long it dried as I knew I didn't have alot of time to waste. I found a fun stencil to use and got my background taken care of with the texture paste and now I'm wondering why I haven't tried it :) This stuff adds some fun texture to your layout:
My grandkids took these pictures. Avery was begging Mom for her camera and I thought what the heck I'll give him mine for awhile and I was blown away buy the pictures I got from him and his sister Astacia. He is into the wooded things around the year and she is into the flowers. Made for a sweet layout with the help of this sketch:
I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and a few pieces of embellishments that were in a box on my craft desk. This is also part of the pile of papers that I gathered for the 100 Patterned Paper Challenge. Thanks for checking this out :)

Astacia Point Of View

Good Evening :) I came across some challenges over at Shimelle's blog that were posted this weekend and to get the discount on her new class you had to do one of the challenges by midnight tonight! The chosen challenge: Scrapbook the Outdoors. Yep got that accomplished in just the nick of time. I also used my LOAD1016 Day 30 prompt for today's layout. To use the current recipe over at CSI: Case File No. 215:
I've got so many photos from this day, from letting Astacia and Avery have my camera. It was cool to see their points of view that day and the difference in what a girl vs a boy would want a picture. So you will see Avery's at a later date :) The papers used are from my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and this is also part of my 100 Patterned Paper challenge.

For the CSI challenge: Had to use all 5 colors, which most were in the floral print. Choose 3 clues: Flowers/Leaves (paper and photos), rubons, vellum and I used flourishes too. For the journaling I used the inspirational word Grow. This was not done with a sketch :) I guess I'm getting comfortable with grids on a shelf as they call it in this form of the layout. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world.

I Got Caught for a Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning and how are you this fine day :) Today starts a new set of challenges over at Lasting Memories, can you believe it's almost November! Where did October go! Oh that's right it was LOAD month that is where it went :)
November's challenges over at Lasting Memories the theme this month is "All About Shapes" and for this 1st one it's squares:

LM 317-SQUARES - Even try to cut photos into squares

My layout for this challenge:
This layout was also made for last night's LOAD day 29 prompt:  Shhhhhhh! You’ve got a secret…You may not want to share your secret – that’s what hidden journaling is for.Yes up in the far left corner that photo is the pocket for the journaling card
Here it is with the card:
This ended up being a fun layout to put together once I decided what I was going to do, some times that is the hard part of LOAD deciding on the story I want to tell. I've learned from Tracie Claiborne's Journal Your Life class, that sometimes you need to tell a different story than what you would really think to tell from the pictures and this is one of those times. I also used my current counterfeit kit Flower Power for the layout other than the Alphas cause I wanted to try to stay within the squares for the challenge.
 My journaling
and that sweet face :)
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too :)

1st Hair Cut

My chosen kit for my layout :)
Good Evening and welcome :) I can't believe that October is just about over :) It flew by this month with doing LOAD, but I found out that I can do a layout a day even while working the night shift, Friday's can be dicey but if I can come up with an idea 1st thing in the morning then put it right together I can be off to take my nap fairly early :)
This layout comes LOAD1016 Day 2: make our page using a scrap recipe from SH sista Lisa Hausman’s challenge blog site, Whimsical Musings! Most Mondays at WM there is a creative new challenge for the week. Lisa uses really unique & challenging things to get your creative juices flowing.
We were directed to use prompt #214 – use the following scrap recipe:
Musings À La Whimsy
  • (makes one page)
  • Pre-heat the printer to print two photos
  • Take 4 different sheets of paper
    • make sure to add in something old, a dash of something new and at least one pocket page card
  • Fussy cut an element and add to the mix
  • Stir in at least two different types of other embellishment
  • Layer up generously
  • Top off with pre-prepared photos, cropped according to taste
  • Season with a sprinkle of ink/mist/paint to achieve desired effect
  • Optional:- extra seasoning can include sequins, enamel dots or puffy elements
  • Title your creation with one large and one small alpha for that personal, finishing touch
  • This is the perfect accompaniment to time alone with a beverage of your choice.
My layout for the kit:
It went pretty fast after choosing everything. All of it came from my current counterfeit kit Flower Power.
Besides using the recipe I also used the sketch over at Stuck?! for my layout:
This was the perfect sketch to layer up generously :)

I fussy cut so many elements for this layout from one of the cutapart sheets.
Including cutting those letter circles for the title. I really enjoyed creating this layout. I also used up 4 papers from my 100 Pattern Paper Challenge.

Innocent a Heritage Layout

Good Morning, hmmm running a bit late with this post :) This is for this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff a Heritage Challenge. The challenge: A photo that is older than 20 years, a piece of memorabilia or ephemera older than 10 years, or maybe document a memory  you have of something longer than 5 years ago!
Oh and USE AS MUCH other STUFF AS YOU CAN!
What does heritage mean to you?  Old photos or old paper, or new supplies that look old ~ I don't feel that there should be too many restrictions on creativity and creating.... But please explain in your blog post how it fits the theme.
My layout is a picture of me that is 50 years old, I was 4 in the picture so that fits the criteria of the challenge.
LOAD1016 Day 18: Today’s main course is the big picture. Go big on your photo
So I have these pictures of me that were in frames that were around the old house when I was growing up. I have 2 more yet to scrap. So for this layout I went out of my monthly counterfeit and grabbed a couple of paper that matched the theme of the photo. But I did use a PL card that I cute to use for the journaling from the paper pad that I had in my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power. I made copy of what was on the back of the picture and added that to the layout. The metal word strip for the title, some fun ribbon for the other photo corner that didn't have a photo corner and the year.
The journaling is my thoughts behind what Mom may have had this picture taken for.
The copy of the writing on the back of the picture, nice to have Mom's handwriting on the layout
This was also on the back of the picture. That studio is not in business anymore
Thank you for stopping by today, got lots of posting to do over the next couple of days and some LoAD recaps of layouts I did over the weekend.
