Isabelle

Hi you all how have you been? I have been scrapping when I can, I think this week will be a little bit better for crafting as I get settled into working 3rd shift. This layout was done for my 1st Challenge with Super Stashbusters at Big Picture Classes. It was a fun one to do with lots of layer clusters.

This was the 1st layout I did with my Counterfeit Kit this month. I pulled a doily and cut it in half so the 3 clusters had some consistency mimicking the doily on the background paper in the upper left corner.  The object of this challenge was to have odd clusters in different numbers.

 I loved doing this layout she some different personalities to Isabelle and might have to do one for each of the grandkids. This is a picture of Isabelle dressed up in a princess outfit to see an event here in town.

 Isabelle is our youngest granddaughter and has been a joy.

 Our Isabelle is a quirky, fun loving and a wantabe leader of the family

Around Here

Hi you all, thought I would tell you all why I've been missing in action on the blog. I've seen a few blogs do this and thought it would be a good way to explain it.

Currently....

• I started a new job last Sunday and I am working 3rd shift
• Harvest season is really starting to take shape with our garden
• Little League baseball is in full swing at the moment with us cheering on Taney the team from Pennsylvania
• Due to the new job, my crafting schedule is way out of whack, I haven't crafted anything since Sunday

Hoping over the next week

• To get back to blogging my crafting (I've got 2 layouts done and sitting on the desk)
• To work out a schedule that I'm doing layouts again
• That tomato season goes very quickly and we are finished by the end of next week
• To get up and see a few of the games at Little League
• That the Pennsylvania team makes it to the national championship wit would be the perfect fit for the 75th Anniversary of Little League

A Different Type of Blog Hop

Hi you all and welcome to this really different blog hop but it looks like a lot of fun! The Creative Blog Hop (TCBH). TCBH is the brain child of some wonderful enlightened blogger. 

I was invited to participate in a different sort of blog hop this week by Emily at Mrs Crafty Adams. She shared her answers last week thanks for the inspirational words she said of me, I'm rooting for her to do a kit:) I'll be telling you about my creative process with some pictures along the way

1. What am I working on right now?

At the moment I'm working on a current class over at Big Picture Classes called Super Stashbusters by Aly Dosdall and it's been a super fun class. We've been doing scrapbook layouts following a challenge that Aly provides. From last year's class Stashbusters Anonymous

Also been working on a Mini Album of our trip to Steamtown in Scranton, PA

2. How long does it take to create a project?

 That depends on what I am doing, but most times not to long since every month I make a kit along with the gals at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog it's always fun to pull the kit and create with it. Then I usually will follow along with a challenge from one of the many sketch challenge blogs I follow and that gives me a great starter. So unless I'm doing a very unusually technique then I can usually get a layout done with in an hour or two.

Last month's kit produced 21 layouts and a couple of cards, that is what makes it so fun to do the CKC kit cause it's there no looking just creating :)

3. What are my fave things I love to create with at the moment?

Right now I'm enjoying using sequins, the triangle studs from CTMH and their scrapbooking kits on the go, Project Life cards on my layouts, washi tape and stickles. 

4. How does my writing/creating process work?

I use Oh Life that sends me an email that asks me how my day is and I answer, much like a journal book. So I either use journal entries or a memory from the photo if I sit and look at it long enough I usually will spark some memory. If I don't then I grab a Project Life card with a quote or Google a quote and that works for me.

 5. What inspires me?

Blogs, Pinterest, Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group, my Grandkids, my dogs, bright colors, vintage/heritage look and nature.

This is just 3 of the Grandkids, would love a picture of all of them together at some point but since we are so spread apart around the states I just don't see it happening.

Ruth and I are on the same design team at Creative Cutting Challenge and I just love to see what she's scrappin or making and  through her I found a super fun group of ladies at Scrappin N Chattin. Paper and Musings it's fun when we both take the sae cut file and make such totally different layouts she's an inspiration for me.

Cindy at Cindy's Creations love to see what she is creating, I'm in awe sometimes with what she does. Cindy also introduced me to Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog plus we are on the same design team for Card A Day Blog. Cindy makes some amazing cards for our troops.

I love the cards and layouts that Brenda makes Friends Crafting with Friends. She and I have similar lives with husbands that enjoy the same hobbies that is unique to find within the crafting world.

Together at Lycoming County Fair

Hi you all, enjoying the summer? It sure is going by quickly. I just finished up this layout with the intention of doing a layout for my Super Stashbusters class over at BPC and with Scrap Our Stash challege #17 in mind: Selfie and use premade/prepackaged frame:

Since I'm usually behind the camera taking the pictures once in awhile I'll take a selfie when we are at places so I'm in the memory of it too :) The challenge for Super Stashbusters to do the layout in grid style, mine's what you call an uneven grid. I kept it unified with framing the pictures and elements one way or another. I used my current counterfeit challenge kit for my layout.

I used the red/blue festive busy pattern paper for my background, from this I pulled the colors of my elements with the addition of the green for October Afternoon's Midway collection, the journaling block is a midway doodad. I used various cut up pieces from the Midway collect throughout the layout too.

 My title came from the picture of the horse barn that sits in the back of the fair, dressed it up with a metal plate embellishment, and some Alphas

 A cut up piece and a picture of another exhibit barn we were entering, I really liked the quilt pattern on the door. Both are framed with CM Jewel paper frames (from an old kit)

This was just a fun sign I took, really would have loved to known what the Frankenstein was but we were appy to have ice cream cones. Fun mustache pennant border cut and the tickets that were fuzzy cut for top and bottom corners.

We do enjoy the fair. Enjoy your day :)

Campbell's Paradise

Hi you all, yesterday I put together the layout that I created the kit for the day before located at this post and this is what I created:

here is the inspiration layout that I lifted/forged

This was a fun layout to put together, took a bit of time because of all the techniques that I did to it:

 What I figured out when I went to first start the layout I noticed on the inspirational layout was the white edges and arrows so I got out CTMH colonial white ink and the arrow stamp from Reel Life Everyday Life stamp set. I added the stamp arrows around the page like they did, also I did the edging too around the page. Added the flowers to the one edge, that's 2 techniques that I don't normally do but was fun on this page.

This side included a punched border and I like how it separated out the pictures gives it nice balance on the page.

 Rhinestones in the form of a circle along the picture ( I used a masking tape edge for the circle) It was irontic that Dave was wearing the same shirt as Jessica had on, made us feel so good to see one of them wear the shirts we gave them the last time they were here 2 years ago.

 The other part of our paradise is our family :) a nice family shot that I got from Melissa. The die cuts are from the Silhouette store and cut with my cameo.

 I added 2 pictures to the large spot they had on the inspiration photo and they are my favorites of the day. It was a nice shot of the girls on the tractors in the one shed and a photo opportunity I didn't want to miss.

 As the way it is nowadays when the adults are visiting you look over at the kids and their eyes are on their phones. Jonathon our grandson and the girl's friend Mercedes.

 The lower photo is Melissa, our DIL and Mom to the kids, the top photo is Jes and Amber (sisters :)

I added a Journaling card (Snap card) from my current kit, (something seemed missing in this area and the journaling worked) part of the card was on the other side (I pulled it off not wanted on that page) but my journaling I wanted to avoid where the page split was and some how it went in a slant :) hmmm so what do I do with that, still debating on it. Since it's a picture of our grandson with Pap I didn't want to add a flower so maybe just let it be.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge 1,000th Blog Post Contest

Hi and welcome. This blog post is for Counterfeit Kit Challenge's 1,000 blog post contest (long post) this contest consist of:

 So this is the kit that I found that I want to counterfeit:

 It's from LilyPadPages.com you can find it at the bottom of their page. the description is:
Everybody's backyard can be their own summer paradise!  In this kit you will
receive three printed papers (one is hand stickled), cardstock, pre cut photo
mats, die cut matted title, die cut chairs, swirl, punched lattice border, bling and
ribbon.
Here is my kit:

I stuck with the wood and the gold . Found a floral that is more of our garden. Used blue instead of green cause there is more green in the pictures I will be using :)

 I pulled SU Rich Razzleberry ribbon in place of the green to match the Rasberry background paper.

The punch for the border strip, the rhinestones and the flowers that I will be placing along the border like they have in the kit that was a nice touch on the paper and since I don't have that kind of paper I'll be making my own.

I cut these on my cameo to be similar to what they have, the chairs are more like ours and instead of just the swirl I added the word Family too because that is our paradise :)
You'll have to stop back tomorrow to see the finished layout.

So for number 2:  Make up a challenge and create a project based on that challenge.

My challenge is a fun large title stamped with various stamps and at least 3 colors ink. 

I used last month's kit for the layout, since I did it last month:) (last week really right after the challenge was announced :) I've been seeing alot of the large titles and the subway art why not mix them together a bit

 I used black, red and brown inks. I used a variety of CTMH stamps to make the title

 Green chipboard star to match the green background pattern paper

The scallop stamped image was one I found in my stash from a swap I received. Popped that up for some dimension.

This was so cool to do, took a bit of time but was fun challenge to tackle! Thanks CKC

This Layout also works for the Challenged posted by Lasting Memories today that is so cool! #202 Heat Wave the colors are red, yellow, orange and green which is all over my layout :)

CKC August Counterfeit Kit

Good Morning you all, the best thing about the 1st day of the month is to see the new counterfeit kit over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and this month's kit s pretty darn cool with a name to match some of what summer is about:



Studio Calico's Penny Arcade: there were 3 kits to choose from, but I went mainly with the scrapbooking kit seen above.
My first take on the kit was the corals, the teal that popped off the browns in the carstock, bright yellow and the sweet clouds, a few traveling papers and the feathers for a current point of view. Fun bits and pieces too.
My Kit reminds me of a Beautiful Summer Day so yep that is what I named it too

 I stayed with the corals, yellows and teals with a pop of red. I founds so purple carnival type lettering paper so I added that and a couple of sheets from the same pad so it had something to go with. Fun CTMH current paper added some fun to the kit and I'm excited to use this paper. Fun side B papers too so you just may see those throughout the month

 Added some vellum to the mix and a plain one to give a try on forging those fun words and diamonds (are triangles out and diamonds in? ) Even one of the vellum have feathers on it, will be looking through my birds pictures for a fun layout I'm thinking :)

 Alphas I chose for this month's kit, I don't have any wooded alphas so I pulled the chipboard ones that I can dress up if it seems to fit, some blacks, some corals too. The chipboard pad I thought would be a fun addition it looks like the one paper in their kit. may pull some blue yet but that is still in the air at the moment. I always heave my trusted dymo if needed :) Maybe add the blue to that this month

 No silver doilies in my stash of doilies but I found this fun silver foil that I had been dry embossed to use in place of it and found some other embossed pieces too while I was searching so in that goes too

 The stamps and inks I want to use. I also plan to do some heat embossing so I'll be pulling embossing powders in those colors too

 Washi and stickles for this month with a side of liquid pearls. I don't use my distress stickles to often so made sure to pull a couple of those in too

 journaling pads and PL papers from the Kraft collection to add to the kit this month

 Some odds and ends, I don't have the fringed paper but I found 2 fringe flowers that I received in a RAK so will be using those up :) I'm still looking for a stencil to use, looking through some old Dazzles monthly kits for that so there may be additions to the kit as I'm looking :)

 Metals that I want to use this month, I have none of those clips (will next month I had ordered them this past month for SU who knew? I would have ordered them sooner :)

 Odd labels from last month's kit :) the odd ones will be tossed out if not used this month

Penny Arcade had lots of add on kits and I have lots of fair pictures to scrap so I made my own add on kit for those pictures mainly from October Afternoon's Midway kit.

So that is it my August kit and I'm excited to start using it, you know you can play along too, you can see the rest of the kit and what the master forgers made of their kits too.
