Ava 1st Halloween Pumpkin LO for Sketch N Scrap Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to Sketch N Scrap's 2nd layout challenge. Heather provided this fun sketch for us to use:
No photo description available.
What a fun sketch and this is what I created with it:
I had fun doing alot of smooshing mists to create that background that Heather had going on in her sketch and using the 4 photos I found from this day. Thanks to Jessica for posting the photos on facebook I was able to Enjoy seeing Ava's 1st pumpkin picking photo and made sure that was the largest photo, with the family & friends photo coming in 2nd in size. The pumpkin photos I put diagonally from each other with Ava's above her photo and here sister Emily's below the family photo (Dad is holding Emily, while Mom is holding Ava and then there is also Amber in the bottom of the photo and Jonathon taking the photo)
I used my current counterfeit kit Everyday Insight for my papers for this layout. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation from this fun sketch over at Sketch N Scrap

Boo to You LO - Use Your Stuff Challenge

Good morning and welcome to this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog. Mayo is our hostess this week and has challenged us to Use a Pumpkin on our project, Either on a photo, if you make layouts, a die cut, a stamp, whatever, as long as it's a pumpkin.
Here is my take on that challenge:
This was made from another challenge too, using chalks, for Nicole Jones Scrap-A-Thon 4 and also for LOAD1019 Day 1 prompt. Basically I went with being dressed up as the prompt was Drag for Tom Hanks series Bossum Buddies, yes we are doing a month of Tom Hanks inspiration, this girl could really having the blahs about it but a trooper and making sure the prompt works for me :)
So this picture has been hanging around for a while and finally thought I should scrap that one :) My 2 youngest kids Kevin and Jill, 1994, thinking this may have been the last time they went out trick or treating :) I even made Jill's costume :) As you can see I use a variety of pumpkins on the layout, even the ones that are in my counterfeit kit Groovy Chic this month in that box of chipboard.
Close up of the middle section, had fun creating the chalked background and will definitely be doing that again :) I finished up the purple Halloween dazzles I had and got that out of my stash :) plus some phrase stickers too.  Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun challenge over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog.

#TBT Halloween 1995 a Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style challenge

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you :) I hope you are somewhere where the sun is shining! We are missing the sun here been mostly rain lately and looking forward to seeing the sun.
The title block of the layout came from this fun Project Life sketch over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style. I fell into the craze of Project Life cards when it first came out thinking I would transition into Project Life scrapbooking, but didn't fall in love with it so now I try to use them in my Scrapbooking, which I do love to do. Finding that these fun sketch challenges help with this and a good way to add a project life card to a layout. So this mid-month sketch:
Now, on to Sketch #102 - courtesy of Emma!

No automatic alt text available.
This is the card I created using this sketch. It come from the Project Life core kit Vintage Travel
The pre-written part on the card worked out for this particular layout. I found that looking through the cards in this core kit that I need to have them handy cause they can be used for alot of things besides travel so time to use up the stash I have!
The layout I made around this card:
Used some black cardstock for my background, just a wee bit of my current counterfeit kit (Glitter tape, gold glitter hashtag and a few things from my last counterfeit kit plus some theme paper and those fun black glitter dazzles and this layout is called done. I used the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy for my inspiration for the overall layout:
and I used the LOAD518 Day 17 prompt for my layout theme: Throwback Thursday. Story: Use an old photo to throwback to an earlier day Technique: Use retro embellishments or old stuff from your stash. Using both the old photo and old stuff from my stash (Halloween stickers I had forever! it seems)
 My journaling
Close up of the picture of my kids plus the card I created
Adding some fun word stickers too. Adding Gold Heidi shine mist to the layout to give the black a bit of something. There it is in a nut shell :) I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun sketch :)

Doodling Around for Use Your Stuff challenge

Good Morning and welcome to this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog. This week I host the challenge and I challenged the girls to a color challenge:
Fall is in the air! Use fall colors : Red, Gold and Orange
This is what I created for this challenge:
This is a layout that was when the Grandkids were marking their faces on the pumpkins before carving them out, Pap suggested they do this first. This has been a fun series of layout that I created from this event last year and I have one more to do yet to finish it up.
I used the current sketch over at Let's Scrap Sketches for my layout. So glad to see them still doing Double page sketches:

I used circles in place of the gears on my layout.
The Left side of the layout. Holds 3 of the 7 pictures I had. Some how I missed getting a picture of Isabelle marking the face on her pumpkin. I used a couple of pieces of cardstock from my background, then pattern papers (lots of scrap papers) used the 6X6 paper that was in my counterfeit kit from July: Geometric Splatter, used 2 papers from my 100 pattern paper pile. I used alot of circles on my layout compared to the gears that were in the sketch challenge. The circles then fall into the Scrappy Sisters Scrap September challenge Day 8: Circles.
My title (which I have now corrected as I figured out I was missing the L in Doodling) and my journaling (done in red pen to match the challenge)
The right side of the layout. Used two circles for the photo mat vs their sketch having the one. With the title being about doodling I thought I should also add some to my layout.
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing what you create for this fun color challenge over at  Use Your Stuff challenge blog

1st Halloween for an October Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to October Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following the very inspiring Julene and if you are coming from her blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. Your project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I chose to do Challenge #2 : I have 1 gallon of Orange, 1 quart of White and a pint of Red, White and Black. Emily's 1st Halloween was last year and I'm excited to see pictures posted of her and her little sister Ava's Halloween. Sure did have fun using my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power for my layout.
I scattered about the layout some black star dazzles, some enamel dots and some word stickers. Still have some personal journaling to add yet, but added some word strips for some fun instant journaling. I used the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy:
Their Week 3 sketch, packed on alot of layering :) So I was able to use up 3 pieces of my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge and a few scraps :)
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Kelly has created she does so magnificent creations :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.

Sweet Witch for Lasting Memories

Good Morning :) It's a beautiful day here in PA :) I've got clothes hung outside to dry today the 1st time of the spring season (I hope spring is here :) How is it at your end of the woods? Today is a new theme month for Lasting Memories and it's "Welcome to the Oscars!"
To kick off the month, our first challenge is
"Glitter and Glam"
This here is my granddaughter Isabelle all dressed up for the Pumpkin Express and Halloween this past year. Andrea did a fantastic job with her makeup :) I knew that I had some of the silver ricrac in my stash so that made it onto the layout to mimic the front of her dress. Lots of fun elements added to the Halloween theme, that I got for a CM sticker pack and an old scrapbook calendar cut pieces for the witch and the shoes :)
Close up of Isa :) I took my page maps book with me to the crop I attended and found a sketch that inspired me to create this layout :) Guess I should get the book out more often :)
I used Brighter Year Ahead Counterfeit kit for this layout :) I did this at a crop this past month and the first thing I grabbed was the Halloween packet that also included this sheet of word stickers, so used that packet with my counterfeit kit and got most of this past year's Halloween layouts done
The title block and journaling.
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :) Love to see you join us over at Lasting Memories layout challenges where it's all about those layouts!

Emily's 1st Jack o' Lantern

Oh my I'm a bit late with my posting of this challenge so sorry :) The bug really threw off my whole schedule. This layout was made using the current double page sketch over at Stick It Down:
My Great Granddaughter Emily's 1st :) Such sweet pictures that come across my Facebook feed that I had to scrap them :) Here is the sketch I had to work with:

This sketch was a bit different for me and I was struggling with what I wanted to scrap with the sketch till I seen these photos in my current print order I knew that they were the ones for this :) So glad to see the clustering in the bottom of the left side :) It helps us that aren't so skilled at this technique. My background paper came from my current Counterfeit Kit: Color Splash and I used scraps of pattern paper from the January kit besides alot of Halloween theme product :)
The left side has a sweet photo of Emily with the pumpkins before they got started and the one final one that Daddy carved for Emily made for a cute title for the layout. That Jack o' Lantern cut was RAKed to me and I've been hoarding them :) fun die-cut in the cluster with a fussy cut out heart.
The right side had Little Emily helping Mom and Dad cleaning out the pumpkins so cute ! I carried some of the pattern papers over from the other side and added that heart paper to this side :)
Some close ups of the layout
I had fun sprinkling star sequins and enamel dots in various places on the layout :)
The ghosts on both pages I got in an old cut swap group and thought they looked great on this layout :) The journaling was done on a scrap of the chevron paper this is the opposing side. A fun sketch to do :)
Love to see your creation up on the linky for the blog :) You have until the last day of the month at 11:59pm to upload your layout and/or card. And:
Welcome to the world Emily's sister Ava Elaine :) The Great Grandgirls are taking over in the Great Grandkids department :) Thanks for stopping by :) I wish you all a great day today :)

October Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and Good Morning. Today is the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog October blog hop and you should have come to my blog from Lisa's blog :) So excited to go and see what Lisa has done, but I'm excited to go and see what all the members have done. So if you are just now joining the hop you may want to go to Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to start at the beginning of the hop. The challenges this month are:
Challenge #1: YOUR NEXT MOVE: Do a project sharing what your next move in life is.  What is a goal?  What is a dream?  What would you like to do if you could?
Challenge #2: 3-D Project.  Let's all get out of our comfort zones.  No cards, layouts or mini albums.
Challenge #3: One Thing: You may use paper, photos and only ONE other thing on your project (like mist or stamping or one type of embellishment).

I already did Challenge #1 so I thought I would tackle Challenge #2, especially since I found this fun box in a kit package to be put together and decorated. I will have to get out to Michaels and see about getting more and making one for each of the grandkids for Halloween this year.
After putting the box together, then it was a matter of cutting the paper to size and apply it to the box:
I used my current kit of cardstock and some scraps of pattern paper that I used earlier in the month on anther project to cover the box.
I used washi tape to enclose all the sides of the box and some on the lid
I then decorated the box with cut outs, dazzles and stickers.
A very fun project and something that I think may just carry onto Christmas for some special gift giving :)
Thanks for stopping by today and now your off to see what the fascinating Julene has for you she always fascinates me with what she makes :)
The blog hop order just incase you get lost :)

Pumpkin Carving for a Funday Friday

Good Afternoon you all, whoa is that a mistype?!! No it isn't, so sorry for the delay today posting, a flu shot yesterday seem to have hit me wrong last night or it could have been the breakup of my sleep pattern to make it to work to get the shot in the middle of the day. But whatever it was I was sniffly and sneezy all night at work, so was not a happy person, a bit grumpy matter a fact. So when I got home I was a bit dopey and sleepy but didn't think I needed to see the Doc and just went to sleep! LOL not a bit bashful for that pun was intended :) What a way to start a Friday so glad to have a longer weekend. But that is enough about my day and I've got lots to do over the next few hours for posts this weekend :)
Today's Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack is: This week's Challenge:
"Halloween"
Create a card, layout or project with
this week's theme!
Our sponsors this week is Di's Digis Stamps & Limited Runs Digital Stamps:
This is my next to oldest son Steven :) I come across some old photos of the kids, which is great! One of the prompts over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group prompted me to use this picture this month and then yesterday's LOAD was the perfect prompt for making my layout and the digi stamp was a welcome addition to the layout. LOAD22: Sword: I followed the Product/Technique prompt: Product/technique: Make slits in your background & weave something through them. The corner diecut of the JackOLanterns I got from a friend awhile back and so glad I thought to use it for this :)
This was actually a fun technique that I don't think I ever did on a scrapbook layout, let alone directly to the main layout cardstock, but I cut and I did it :) I carved the paper just like the title of the layout and just like Steven carving the pumpkin :) What a cool theme :)
I used a Limited Runs Digital Stamp: Halloween Sign. I used my bic markers to color in the digi stamp and inked the edges and distressed the cardstock a bit so it wasn't so white with Memento's Potter's Clay ink. I got to use my new round distressing ink tool for really like the smoothness of that one vs the rectangle one so I think I have a new favorite :)
A close up of the picture and the journaling that I can kinda figure out for the time period. That is the only problem with older pictures it can be a guessing game on the date. This is the original I did scan it so I had another copy, but thinking that the original is better to be on the layout than in an envelope with the rest of the photos :) Next year's goal is to get all the photos I found scrapped. I used my current counterfeit kit for the layout and some Halloween theme products :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you creation linked up soon.

1st Halloween

Good late afternoon :) I'm here with another blog post today :) This is a layout I did of our youngest grandson's 1st Halloween picture last year:
I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges: Sketch 454:
 454
This was a fun sketch to use for this layout :) and it worked out great for some layering fun :)
This layout was for LOAD14:Story: Tell of something that you saw that inspired you Product: Use a combination of large & small elements Image: A close-up (I think I covered all the prompts today all in one layout. Seeing any of my grands and great grands inspires me :)
This is our little lion :) and Zach as Spider Man :) a super cute Spidy he is :) I used my current counterfeit kit, last month's kit and some fun Halloween theme products. Lots of these are old embellishments from my stash for when I was first starting scrapping and got some theme products. Which shows you don't need theme paper to get a fun Halloween layout :)
A fun title to the layout
Lots of fun word sticker strips to finish off the side that needed the journal strips. I've been enjoying these sketch challenges that has lots of layering to them, this helps me to understand the layering process and little out of my comfort zone a bit
