Happy Valentine's Day card for Sketch N Scrap card challenge

 I made a cute Valentine's Day card with the sketch:

A fun card to give out :) popped up the sentiment block (which came from a framed paper that I cut out the heart block for this from my BASHket :) a couple of word stickers to add o the sentiment and a few enamel hearts. The papers all came from a pile of scraps I had sitting in my room :) The vellum Valentine's word came from my current counterfeit kit: Springtime Fresh.

Happy Valentine's Day LO for a Funday Friday challenge

Good Morning :) A bit late on posting this challenge, we were on vacation last week and here I thought I had already did the post and had it prepared to pop up on Friday, but with everything going on to get ready for the trip I didn't get the post done.
Good Morning and Happy Friday to you :) It's Funday Friday and Today over at Jo's Scrap Shack our challenge is Always Anything Goes. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. I had gotten Love Birds – printable art tiles bottle caps designs. I love to use their printable art tiles on layouts they make for a nice starting block for clustering. Here is the layout I created using it:

 The fun art tiles made for fun clustering spots on my layout. This layout was created using left over scraps from my April counterfeit kit: Spring Flings and Easter Things and the purple background paper is from my 100 pattern paper pile. I used a sketch for my inspiration but can't remember where the sketch was (me bad!) The card I received my hubby is the center of attention on the layout and that created a wonderful title to the layout too.

 The rose that he surprised me with for Valentine's Day and the journaling

 One of the art tiles for this fun little cluster.

 I added this fun piece of emphermia with the teal pattern paper. Another of the art tiles in the top corner of the layout for another cluster

 and the last tile was added to the side of the card for the last cluster on the layout. I love the combination of the card and the picture to create a special layout for this year's Valentine's Day as when I see that rose I'll be reminded of what I felt when I saw it on my craft desk that day, totally utterly surprised!

Heart and Rose Bunny for a Funday Friday Challenge

The challenge is Always Anything Goes, I decided to make my hubby's valentine card with this cute stamp:

 I had created a layout for another project (You'll see that in February) and the card I created with some of the leftovers from that layout. I colored up the cute digi stamp with various markers and I also chalked the background so it wasn't so stark white. The red heart was a diecut I found in my basket so added that to the card too.

The inside of the card is ready for a little note of my love to my hubby :) for some odd reason my camera wouldn't focus on the inside of the card.

This is what I created using their stamps:

 Sweet digital stamp that I colored up with my bic markers. The greeting is also a digital stamp set from Oddball Art. I used my Labels Nine spellbinder cutters for the digital stamps. The flower and the ribbon both come from my "Bash"kit (a facebook group called Bash Your Stash) This was something created new this year the Bash kit to have on your desk and to bash through the month. This is my 2nd creation using the bash kit as well as my current counterfeit kit: Glacially Toasted for the cute blue paisley paper.

 I brought more of the paper into the inside of the card and added another cute flower too. Not sure who is getting this card yet but I like the way it came out. A Couple of Cards I Did Yesterday

Hi you all :) I went to a virtual crop over the weekend with the girl that runs the Sketches in Thyme blogs
What a blast! we did fun games and lots of challenges :) and here are 2 of the cards that I did get a chance to make for the challenges:
Pink, Black, ribbon/twine, sequin/bling, and stamp challenge:

 A card for my sweetie :)

 The inside of the card will hold some special little notes of love to my hubby. I used my current counterfiet kit for pink paper, the ribbon came from my ribbon stash and the fun brads came from a collection of odd brads in my stash :) It feels great to be using up old stash.
The other challenge was Black & White, not something I typically do but the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group's week challenge was a sketch so that help make this a fun card to create :)

 A birthday card for one of the boys in the family :) The stringed bow made me think of a string around your finger and that really helped me to decide on the type of card I wanted to do and then I found that 'a little reminder' stamp and thought that was a perfect way to start the front of the card sentiment :) The washi on the card for the top and bottom borders came from my current counterfeit kit.

A Valentine Tart for Funday Friday

 this is so cute and so fun to color too :)
For the card base I used an old card pad from Making Memories: Love Struck. I used a doily and the red foil scrap from Dec kit. I scattered sequins around the card.

I color the stamp with my Bic Mark It markers and the icing was done with Ranger's 'Gold Ice' Ice Stickles from this month's counterfeit kit, this stuff is really thick! When you move the card around you see that it glitters and has large crystals in it vs the regular stickles :) I punched it out with my SU scallop punch.

Love You card for Creative Cutting Challenge

Good Morning you all :) As I am writing this we are getting some snow here on the east coast. A good 2" already where I live in PA. I have a card today for the themed Valentine's Day challenge over at Creative Cutting Challenge

 I used Creative Pointe's Love You Card for my Valentine project.

You get all the pieces needed for the card with choice of a non word front too, which I see could be used for a journaling block for a layout :)

 I used the heart cardstock from SU for my card base. I cut the heart out of a DCWV foil cardstock pad (really shines well in person) and the love you was cut from designer pattern paper. All the papers were in my current counterfeit kit other than the foil that was in last month's kit. I used the Wink of Stella Brush for the glittery on the letters. I had a problem squeezing a bit hard at the beginning and the "e" got saturated with the glitter :) It was really easy to use after that and gives a nice shimmery look to the letters

I also decorated the inside of the card and now it's ready for a message from me to the hubby. I created a liner for the card in my Silhouette program very easily. I found the soft flocked hear in my box of things I kept aside for other projects that worked out great here. A strip of the hear paper and a sticker I found on an alpha sheet. You've always had......-CCChallenge #26

Hi and welcome to Challenge #26 over at Creative Cutting Challenge blog. The theme is Valentine's Day. This is the card I made for the challenge:

This is the card my husband will receive for Valentine's Day this year :) It has the perfect heart lock cut on it and that cut comes from Creative Pointe's Valentine Hearts set:

 This set is perfect for a variety of different Valentine cards there are so many choices, for my husband’s card this year I chose the heart lock cut for the front of the card, he is the one that holds the key. 

I started the process with seeing this quote about the key to my heart so I plugged that into google and I found a cute card for the inspiration/c.a.s.e. of my card from Clicky Chick Creates

 I cut the various pieces needed for the card:

 First I decided on the font for the lettering strips, printed on light blue cardstock and inked with distress ink: Brushed Corduroy.

 Used red card stock for the card base, found some cool key pattern paper in one of my stashed paper packs. Used Simple Stories graph paper from the documented collection for a border inked with the same ink and used it for the inside of the card also with the key cut.

I used the Heart Lock from the Valentine Hearts set, resized and cut from the 2 red papers from my Counterfeit Kit challenge paper for this month :) The keyhole I covered with silver studio g stickles. On the inside:

I brought in that same graph paper, added the keys pattern paper as a border and used the key cut and the heart from the cut embellishing the inside . The key cut is from the Silhouette Store Design ID # 1243.
Just loved the way this turned out and that I was able to use some paper from my Counterfeit Kit challenge-Jan. kit was an added bonus, it was the best choice for the card and this is also the card I made for my card swap group too, sweet!

CC Challenge: Valentine Day's card

Hi you all and welcome to my blog. It's another Creative Cutting Challenge :Valentine's Day Card. This card is all full of hearts I used the Creative Pointe’s Fancy Hearts set (this is a really cute set) for the 2 red hearts that were the negative cuts of the hearts with arrows. I also used one of the hearts with an arrow on the inside of the card too.

This was a fun card to do once I got everything pick out for it. When I started the process I choose 3 different papers to figure out the look I wanted for the background. Decided on this sweet pattern paper from A Happy Heart pack (very fitting name for the occasion) Six by Six by My Minds Eye. Seen the colorful heart border from the paper pack DCWV Stack 8 pack on one of the papers and knew this would be a nice inclusion to the card. This pack of paper has so nice patterns in it and you'll see more of it on future cards I think. The lower border is felt fusion and adds some texture to the card.

I used the negative cuts from the heart with arrow file from The Creative Pointe Fancy Hearts file

the negative made really cute hearts and I brought one of the double heart cuts to the inside of the card with a border of that sweet paper

with lots of room yet to right something special in it yet.

CC Challenge: Valentine not a card

Hi you all and welcome to my blog. It's another Creative Cutting Challenge :Valentine not a card. This is what I came up with:

While I was perusing the internet to decide what to do for this project I came across the blog Images by Heather M and found a pillow box she filled with candy and the light bulb went off! this project went together relatively easy after cutting out the first box and seeing how the file cut. Really need to do test cuts before doing the real cuts, lol the learning experience.
Heather offered a free svg for the pillow box. I took that file and enlarged it a bit and then cut it out well this is what I got:

As you can see in the picture in the lower left corner this is how the file cut out. Well I knew that wasn't right, so I ungrouped the file, deleted the center part and cut out the outside of the file to get the full box cut. Without moving the mat at all, I undid what I just did and deleted the outside, turned the blade around in the casing so I can score (need to invest in a scoring blade now I think) I did this at blade depth at 6 and hit go, woohoo it went and scored the lines I needed! Love learning new things! I had the pressure at 3 and I would suggest doing it higher for the scoring. So in the upper right is what the box turned out like. I decorated the box with files from The Creative Pointe Fancy Hearts file

 

I used the border file to decorate the box, added so Elmers glitter glue to the hearts to give some bling, and tied it up with some SU twill. This was a fun project and I'm glad to try something new. Valentine for Card A Day Blog

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog and the theme is Valentine. The card I made is:

This is an A2 size card-just a different fold than thee traditional card. The card was cut from a piece of pink scrap cardstock @ 9" X 4 1/4" with the top folded at 3 1/2" and both corners punched with a rounder punch.

 

The back includes a strip of the purple that was dry embossed with swiss dots @ 9 1/4" X 1 7/8" and punched with some bubbles punch I have, I think its and EK success punch. The strip is wrapped around to close in the front like a gate card.

The inside of the card includes a 1/2" border on the bottom punched with that same punch. and stamped in various spots. The stamps I picked up at a yard sale so I'm not sure of the brand.
The front of the card includes 2 cuts from Spellbinders Labels Eight collection and one was cutfrom the purple swiss dots cardstock and cut smaller in the light purple then stamped and heat embossed with purple embossing powder. The hearts and flower on the front I received in a swap.

It is a different type of card than what I normally make, but was very easy and fun to do. Quite not sure who is gonna receive it yet.
Stopped back in and see what I'm up to in the next few days, got the journaling pages to do for the Marion Smith challenge and my 1st week layout of my venture into project life and a valentine special thing I'm making for my husband for the Creative Cutting Challenge.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! Have a fantastic day! This is what I woke up to this morning

Yep that is a card, boy was I totally surprised by my husband this morning. If you see in the upper left corner the card I made last month for him actually puts the size into perspective (that is an A2 card).

Now on to the card I made for today, this card I made at my local Close to My Heart class and it was a really fun card to do.

This was a really fast card to make. The scallop rectangle and heart was cut out from the teacher's CTMH cartridge (Art Philosophy) with a CTMH stamp set (not sure which one it was). The border behind the sentiment was done with a crimper and gave it nice textured. The one background piece (red with white dots) the dots were stamped on to the piece. So now I have my card ready for Dave for next year, its fantastic to be ready that far ahead!

Next month keep an eye on the blog as I go through a book that I just got yesterday

I've seen so many beautiful cards out there that are colored and wanted to learn this fine art, so I seen this book and had to get it. So as I progress through the book I will be doing cards to show what I'm learning. I also got a book during a blog hop in October 2011 as the blog candy that I also want to try some of those techniques.
Another thing that I have been looking into is the new craze with the smash books and checked out some youtube videos on it and plan to make one of my own themed towards my growing up years, I have so many items scattered around that I received from my mother that this to me maybe a fantastic place to put it. So I look forward to doing that and sharing it with you all.
