Legacy Bricks featuring Stars layout a Use Your Stuff challenge

Good Morning :) and welcome to this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff Blog. The challenge this week is to use stars on our layout:

I used stars on this layout as my embellishment. The photos were taken by the hubby at the Rock N Roll Hal of Fame while we were there, some interesting reading on the blocks and that is what I thinks spark his interest in taking the photos and since this trip included both of us it's nice to have pictures from his point of view.
This came about from LOAD1018 Day 21: The Phantom of the Opera. The prompt was The Phantom's life is ruled by music. Music can make us recall things, is used as a therapy technique and to help dementia patients. What song has impact on your life or brought out an emotion in you? OR Black & White are the colors on the show's Playbill. Use them both in your layout today. As I have done the 1st part of the prompt many times already so I decided to do the 2nd prompt of the Black & White color scheme as it's a music venue I guess I got the 1st prompt too with just a slight turn.I was also able to use this for the Whimsical Musings challenge #308 be inspired by lines. Lines all over the place on this layout.
Close ups on the layout:
Using stars in the title area
Another one here with the journaling.
and more here with the camera. Thinking Stars and Cameras will both be good to use throughout the Cleveland Vacation Album to keep consistency throughout it :)
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm doing in my little corner of the world and I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun challenge prompt over at Use Your Stuff blog challenge

Smile for a Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning :) I hope your weekend is going well :) We are finally seeing some sunshine here in PA after lots of rainy gray days and the temperature is suppose to climb up over today and the next few so some summer temps are on the horizon.
Over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge we have a new challenge for you today.  Our theme for June is "June Holiday Insights" and our challenge is:
June 14th is Flag Day here in the US, so in honor of the colors of our flag here in the USA, this challenge use red, white, and blue on your layout.
The layout I created inspired by these colors:
Brad the youngest of Dave's kids with his girl (now his wife) Katherine. This picture they gave us awhile back and we had it on our hutch with the other family pictures. We have changed it out a few times with more current photos of them. I was glad to come across it and get it scrapped. I used my current counterfeit kit Sweet Summertime for the layout and the pops of red came from that one 6X6 paper pad that I included in the kit.
I added my own journaling to the layout in red pen.
This is a copy of what was written by Katherine on the back of the photo.
I added this 4X6 project Life card that I feel is very true in a new relationship.
 The lovely couple :)

Thank you for stopping by today :) We have a very nice prize this month and look forwards to seeing your creation for this challenge and for all the challenges this month.I also was inspired by Whimsical Musings Challenge #210 - red, white & blue

Pawsitively Adorable

If you are looking for today's Use Your Stuff post you can find it here.
Last post of the day I'm thinking :) I still have to do the layout for today's LOAD prompt :) and get some laundry done too :) This layout is from yesterday's prompt, LOAD217 DAY 26: Cerberus Tell a story about your pet, or a pet from the past. Easy Peasy :0 Just needed to decide on the story to tell?!!
This layout was inspired by Scrap Our Stash sketch n word challenge:

It was interesting challenge: C: cardstock, U: Uniball pen (silver), P: pattern paper, I: inked edges, D: diecuts
This is our Buddy :) I thought the 4X6 card was appropriate for a title for this layout and used some fun pictures of Buddy that have just been sitting in the photo box :) I used some of my last month counterfeit kit for this as well as some theme product too.
I was also inspired by one of Whimsical Musings prompts to use a blurry picture and I get lots when trying to take pictures of this furbaby :) Challenge #129 - Inspired by blurry photos

1st Pumpkin Patch

Good Morning :)
This layout was made from doing LOAD1016 Day 20: Prompt was Dessert-Fancy :) A well-dressed page and Lisa Hausmann was the featured member that day :) Lisa is the best I've seen when it comes to layering and adding clusters of bits and bobs. She has the blog Whimsical Musings and she also in now in charge of Counterfeit Challenge Blog :) Very inspiring. Whimsical Musings Challenge #39 Inspired by Clusters
I used Lisa's layout from LOAD516 for my inspiration for this layout:
Really enjoyed doing this layout ans so glad that I had fun inspiration to do it :) The layering and clustering is a technique I've been learning and refining and Lisa's got the inspiration to learn from.
 My journaling
 The top layer
Our beautiful Great Grandaughter Emily enjoying her 1st Pumpkin Patch :)  I used both my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and I was able to use up quite a few papers from my 100 Paper Patterned Challenge :) Thanks for stopping by.

1st Hair Cut

My chosen kit for my layout :)
Good Evening and welcome :) I can't believe that October is just about over :) It flew by this month with doing LOAD, but I found out that I can do a layout a day even while working the night shift, Friday's can be dicey but if I can come up with an idea 1st thing in the morning then put it right together I can be off to take my nap fairly early :)
This layout comes LOAD1016 Day 2: make our page using a scrap recipe from SH sista Lisa Hausman’s challenge blog site, Whimsical Musings! Most Mondays at WM there is a creative new challenge for the week. Lisa uses really unique & challenging things to get your creative juices flowing.
We were directed to use prompt #214 – use the following scrap recipe:
Musings À La Whimsy
  • (makes one page)
  • Pre-heat the printer to print two photos
  • Take 4 different sheets of paper
    • make sure to add in something old, a dash of something new and at least one pocket page card
  • Fussy cut an element and add to the mix
  • Stir in at least two different types of other embellishment
  • Layer up generously
  • Top off with pre-prepared photos, cropped according to taste
  • Season with a sprinkle of ink/mist/paint to achieve desired effect
  • Optional:- extra seasoning can include sequins, enamel dots or puffy elements
  • Title your creation with one large and one small alpha for that personal, finishing touch
  • This is the perfect accompaniment to time alone with a beverage of your choice.
My layout for the kit:
It went pretty fast after choosing everything. All of it came from my current counterfeit kit Flower Power.
Besides using the recipe I also used the sketch over at Stuck?! for my layout:
This was the perfect sketch to layer up generously :)

I fussy cut so many elements for this layout from one of the cutapart sheets.
Including cutting those letter circles for the title. I really enjoyed creating this layout. I also used up 4 papers from my 100 Pattern Paper Challenge.

Look Here

Good Morning to you :) Can you believe this is the last day of August! Wow the summer season is just about over, while walking with the dog this morning I seen fallen leaves! and orange pumpkins in the garden! It's coming way to fast this year, I'm not anxious for fall.... I love the sun and all the fresh veggies in the garden. So I guess I better deal with it :) Atleast I have summer pictures to scrap for a bit in the fall.
Today's layout is one of the goodies of summer, the 1st corn of the season and was it delicious!
I used my current counterfeit kit Easy Livin' for this layout, I was drawn to the blue on the plate and that made me think of a blue prompt over at Whimsical Musings, Challenge #204 – Tiffany Blue be inspired by Tiffany Blue.
So I took the left over blue in my kit and also used some blue stamping for the title and the embellishments for this layout. I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for the layout: sketch #69

It was a fun sketch to work with, I have one more to do this week yet for the summer challenge Leslie is having over at The Memory Nest.
So the beginning of this layout came from The 20 Project:  Day 17: Whittle down that giant stack of photos
So I took the printed photos I just got from snapfish
 This stack of 99 prints
and I separated them into piles for scrapbook layouts. It was fun to tackle this like this right from the start. Now I have plans for about 10 layouts maybe a few more depending on the large stack of reunion photos and how I handle those. After separating them we were to take one stack and create a layout :) Which I accomplished.
Shimelle's class, a few of the 1st few prompts is about stamps and I had these stamps in my CKC Just Chillin' last month and it's been sitting on my desk so I knew I was using those and a set of letter stamps I received in a swap a long time ago that never saw ink :) So it was fun to do some stamping and adding it to my layout.
My journaling I chose a silver pen, now thinking it may have been a bad choice, so may rewrite the journaling on the back of the layout. It says: 1st corn of the summer season we were just talking about it yesterday at the family reunion, Dan had asked about it. I thought it wasn't quite ready, but to my surprise, I guess it was. A great meal that night.
More close up of the stamping. So glad to have this in the Album for 2016. Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Tomorrow is a new day, a new month and new inspiration from Counterfeit Kit Challenge :) Still have some of this month's kit to play with yet to finish out the week :) The weekend I'll be able to gather up the new kit :)

Say Hello to Summer

Good Morning :) Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We were busy ding stewed tomatoes and getting them canned up, still got salsa to make yet today :) Yesterday was the finally of the Little League series and it was great to see The Endwell, New York team took the series and it was great to see it End this Well is was a deserved win that had not lost a game leading into the series and won it straight through with no losses. We always enjoy watching the game at home will canning up some kind of tomato product. To me it seems when the series ends so does summer and this coming weekend is Labor Day, I'm ready for some cooler temperatures but no snow please for me :)
This is the 1st layout I did for LOADmini Day 1: Summer equals Water. I had one thought in mind for this layout but knew I didn't have all the pictures I wanted to use yet (and still don't! Need to prepare another print order I guess) But I did have these of our grandkids, these are Albert's 4 kids (Astacia is not with them that day).
I used my July counterfeit kit for this layout Just Chillin' and used quite a bit from the I (heart) Summer collection from Simple Stories
A close up of the pictures of the kids. We live along the river both us in South Williamsport and the kids in Williamsport, so the River Walk is a good thing they added along thee river. One section of it leads you to this area and isn't that what the beginning of summer is about :) Enjoying the warm days and getting your feet wet. I like the border of word stickers I used along the side of the pictures.
Bullet journaling was great use for this layout and challenge I did for our SNC group
The top cluster with more stickers and the rhinestones and some fun word phrases with the date. I used and old Cocoa Daisy sketch from May 1, 2012 for my layout. This is also for the challenge over at Whimsical Musings Challenge #95 - Inspired by a summer colour scheme
This collection really shows off that color scheme very well :) As summer comes to an end and so will the garden and I have more time to scrap, plans to really get into catching up with the prompts over at Whimsical Musings
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Lots of Summer photos that need to be scrapped yet.......

South Side..A bit of history about the town I live in

Hi you all :) It's been one of those days that you just want to relax and not do anything for me :) Long night at work may have had something to do with it. So got to sleep in a bit and now ready to start my weekend :)
Today is Just Because Day. Finally, you have a chance to do something without a rhyme or reason. Most often in life, we do things because we have to, or we want to, or it's expected of us. None of those reasons apply today.

Is there something you'd like to do, but there isn't a reason or logic for doing it? Well, today is the day to go out and do something "just because". It is most enjoyable if it is an uncommon, or unexpected activity or action. Perhaps, you have something in mind. If not, just go with the first thing that comes to your mind.  "Just because" activities often come from a "whim" or a "what if I" type of thought. We know you will quickly get the hang of this day, and have a lot of fun with it. This may explain today for me :)
Where do YOU come from??? That is the challenge over at Whimsical Musings this week: WM#226
be inspired by where you come from:

This is a layout I did for LOAD1015 Day8: X marks the spot: Story: Tell about where you live
Product/technique: Use a sewed/dotted line to direct us around your page
Image: An iconic photo of somewhere you have been
this layout is perfect for that challenge :) For the prompt that day I did a layout about the town I live in right now, for 24 years I have lived in South Side (23 years of that time was with my husband :)
The X on the map shows where we live.
Image: An iconic photo of somewhere you have been: This is a postcard I got and it is also some place I've been in my life many times. As a kid Mom took us over each day during the games to watch the action.
As the games are taking place this weekend with the final game tomorrow, this is a good day to be doing the post on this layout. This is the time when South Williamsport is the busiest, during the series. This is something that makes our little town unique too.
Journaling about the city I live in. Thank you for stopping by today and would love to see Where do YOU come from???

Wild About You

Wow! Can't believe it is August already! where the heck did July go! So the scrappy goals I set for myself last month didn't produce much but I did have fun creating some layouts in July and a couple of cards :) I'm still trying to figure out a crafty schedule with the new job even though it's been a couple of months I still haven't gotten a good solid schedule yet. Sundays and Mondays I try to get crafty, so the rest of the week is a hit and miss. But I try to do something each day related to scrapping it may be a class, a youtube video inspiration, photo editing (I got alot that I need to upload and get printed :). The 1st of the month also provides new inspiration over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and this month the inspiration is different that what I have been creating with over the last couple of months so a fun kit to pull this week :).
Today I did a layout based on the sketch over at The Memory Nest and what a fun sketch it is! This is my take on the sketch:
The Memory Nest sketch:
The sketch was so out of my norm and so fun :) I found these 2 photos of Brad's boys and that started the whole layout :) I don't do that to often starting with the photos and then creating the layout but for this style sketch it worked out and then I knew the embellishments I was grabbing to use and the papers. I still grabbed some things from my July counterfeit kit Just Chillin'.
A close up of he grid portion of the sketch, I think my arrow is little off :) Zachary looks so much like the Campbell side of the family and Tristan looks like the Bastian side, but they both have Brad's blond hair color when he was young. It's always a good visit when these 2 come over to see us :)
So I tried my hand at bullet style journaling a challenge over at the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group
I found a couple of quotes to add to two of the corners of the layout :). The photos of this visit was the inspiration for this layout I will also match this up to Whimsical Musings Challenge #98 - Inspired by visitors

Happy Day

Hello :) I hope you all had a great weekend :) We attended the Campbell Family reunion despite the weather and rain it was a good day yesterday. The last day of July, wow where did it go! My July didn't go as I was expecting it to, no Christmas cards made at all! So I guess I'll be a bit busy next month trying to get going on them :) Maybe Christmas in August instead of July :)
Today is Lasting Memories new challenges for August and were taking on the new Adult Coloring trends! Have you seen these coloring books in the craft shops :) it's one way to grow up and be a kid again :) So the 1st challenge this month is Include all 7 colors of the rainbow or an actual rainbow on your layouts. I think I may have covered both in my layout:
These pictures were taken with my phone :) so they are not the best but it was so cool to see this rainbow that day when I went to the bank. I knew it was going to happen when I seen the sun shining and it was raining. So instead of looking at it as a bad day cause I had planned on going to the fair, I looked at it as a good day cause we were in such need for the rain :) So I went to the fair on Monday and found out it was free admission so it all worked out, life as we know it :) God moves in many ways to brighten our day.
This layout is going to cover a few challenges, 1st I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme for my layout:
Sketch #211:
This was a fun sketch to work with. I like the way the clusters were going up through the center of the layout and used the left over puffy butterfly stickers on my layout. The butterfly stickers cover a challenge over at Archi-scraps a challenge blog that I missed doing a layout for last month when I went to check today the new challenge was up so glad to see butterflies for the theme of the challenge :) I used Whimsical Musings Challenge #35 - Inspired by silver linings there is a silver lining about that day :)
A close up of the pictures with the rainbow. I had heard that the Flight 800 memorial in our area, was having it's memorial when the rainbow came out, wonderful to see God work in this way/
My journaling. I do appreciate what God gives us and we see it most in his creations :) I had fun creating this with part of my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' I was surprised I didn't have much left in the kit, another week and I just may have killed it :) So the new kit inspiration comes out tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing it :) Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation soon posted over at Lasting Memories.

Genuine Star Student

Hello once again today :) This layout I made today for The Memory Nest weekly sketch challenge.
This is the layout I created :) Pictures of Zachary while he was writing. Great to see him doing so well so early in life, he just started Kindergarten just a couple of months ago. They have to know so much now versus when we were in school. We are so proud of Zachary and all our grandkids to see them developing like this.
This is the sketch for this past week's challenge over at The Memory Nest:

Only with 2 pictures to use for the layout I moved the journaling up and used a journaling card for the middle picture.
I used my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' for my layout :) Adding in the school related embellishments with the circles I punched out. I was inspired to use some of the puffy stickers too so this goes with Whimsical Musings: Challenge #220 - puffy stickers
 My journaling
My title block. This was a fast one to put together with a great sketch and lots of scraps left from my counterfeit kit it took no time to put this together :) Probably the longest time was choosing the pictures to use.
