Hearts Come Home for Christmas

Good Morning all and welcome to my blog. I'm the designer over at  Card a Day Blog today and the theme is Home for Christmas. My card for today:
This card is so easy. It's an A2 card and all the paper came from my Christmas paper scraps from few years ago, (sorry no idea what makers they are). That is one great thing about cardmaking you can do a scrapbook layout and the scraps can become a card. The card base is brown (DieCuts with a View), the striped paper was cut at 4" X 5.25", the green paper with snowflakes was cut at 3.75" X 2.75", the brown border was cut from the cardstock that was used for the card base and that was cut at 1.5" X 5.25".
The stamped images are from JustRite stamps the Hearts Come Home Set. Whats so nice about these sets is that they are interchangeable within each other. So you get 6 image stamps & 6 borders stamps in one collection. The center image has one of the borders and was popped up with foam tape and red pearls (KaiserCraft) were put on each corner. All were colored with sharpie markers. Easy Peasy!

This is a fast card to put together for the holiday, there are lots of beautiful stamps out there for Christmas that just need colored for a specially made card, nothing to fret about during the holiday and a thoughtful card for the receiver.
We started our Christmas shopping this past weekend-what!-that is a first for us to do shopping together in October, lol. The plan is to be done Black Friday with that being the final shopping day for the family gifts so we can just enjoy the month of December, how are you doing?

A Halloween Treat-CC Challenge

Here’s a cute little gifty for your favorite spook!

Hi everyone and welcome, today I design for Creative Cutting Challenge-a challenge that uses svg cuts or similar electronic cutting file in your project.  No cricut cartridges allowed for this one.

I decorated this little favor box (from the silhouette store) with Creative Pointe’s Halloween Set One.

Wow talk about some spooky cuts in this set..... A good set of Halloween cuts to have on hand for your Halloween needs.
I used the file: Design ID #49634 from the silhoutte store for the box, but I wanted to use Creative Pointe's files to decorate the box. This is ready for the Halloween trick or treaters that stop by or door. The box was cut out of purple cardstock, the decorated cuts were cut for CM Gold cardstock and Black pearlesence cardstock from Walmart. The gold was chalked with SU Night of Navy chalk to give more of a nightly atmosphere for a more spooky look. Used yellow stickles to write out Happy (need to practice this more) and a yellow/green ribbon to tie it up so the treat doesn't fall out.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world and stop by Creative Cutting Challenge with your own Halloween item, we'd love to see it.

A German Christmas

German and Austrian Christmas customs have spread throughout the world wherever Christmas (Weihnachten) is celebrated. From the Christmas tree (Tannenbaum) to "Silent Night" ("Stille Nacht") and on to the Advent calendar (Adventskalender), people around the globe have adopted many traditions that began in the German-speaking world.
Hi and welcome to my blog, I'm designer today over at Card A Day Blog and the week's theme is Christmas Around the World. With doing my own genealogy, I found that on my Dad's side I am quite german, and I have a cousin that lives in Germany and want to send him a card around that theme.

So I made some cards that showcase just the Christmas Tree:
This is a sweet card to do many of like production style if you want to send out the same card
The silver glitter cardstock came from Walmart-Colorblock Pearlescence pad

Put together it gives a regal look
I popped it up on the front of the card

The inside is ready with a cute Christmas tree border and room for a personalized Christmas message.
Used paper and cardstock from various paper packs and the border was from a piece of card stock I got at Michaels. The corner and the border edge punched from fiscars punches

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing my view for my little corner of the world and stop back soon to see other projects I have been working on....

Halloween Card-Creative Cutting Challenge

Hi you all and welcome to my blog,
Today I'm one of the designers over at Creative Cutting Challenge an svg cutting challenge. My card:
Came from the Jack O'Lantern Card file
Jack O'Lantern Card - Click Image to Close
This is the first svg I did in my Silhouette software and found out there are a few things to be aware of when using and svg file in the software. First it all comes in as one color, lol I emailed her about the file that it was missing the die cut piece
I found this out by opening SCAL and all the pieces were in separate colors, so back into the Silhouette software, ungrouped it and sure enough the pieces were there.
So next after getting the pieces separated to cut, push the cut button and nothing, again I tried and nothing. So next to Google and asked how to cut an svg in the silhouette software and got lots of videos so watched one and I seemed to have missed and important menu spot in the software the cut menu where you have 4 choices of how you want it cut, picked the right one and yes! we hve cutting lines. Hit the cut button and there it was:
The card pieces I needed. On the inside of the card I included the black border from my stash and the purple strip to hide the white inside of the card. added to 2 pieces from the hat to the inside too. Really super easy, super quick and a super fun card! A plug for the Cameo it cuts glitter paper wonderfully, I held it down with painters tape and it slice right through it like butter.
I used purple cardstock for the card base, black card stock for the hat, the orange glitter paper for the pumpkin face and Creative Memories gold cardstock for the shadow cut/background cut of the pumpkin head. Sentiment from SU Teeny Wishes and CTMH Colonial White ink
Thanks for stopping by and if your making a Halloween card and it has an svg cut or a non-cricut cut then you might want to join in on the fun and link up to the challenge over at Creative Cutting Challenge....

Jingle Bells

Hi and welcome to my blog,
Wow I can't believe were in October already where did the year fly off too. Well if it's October that means it's all about Christmas over at Card A Day Blog except for Thanksgiving week. When I think of Christmas I think of the songs and music that associate with Christmas.
My project for this card was found in the Creative Memories Tis the Season cricut cartridge.  The card base is red cardstock from one of the value packs, the background was cut out of music paper I got from a paper purchase on 2 peas in a bucket for sale board. Now the cut is from Tis the Season CM cartridge

and what is cool about it's all right there to be cut out and makes a great focal point on a card. It was cut out at 3.75" which as you can see it filled up just about the entire A2 card.
All the pieces for the cut came from scraps I had on hand. A ribbon border with a bow to add some texture and now I got a cute card ready to go.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world......
