Free Ride layout

Hi you all! Hope your having a fantastic day today :) I've been so busy with May's LOAD that the poor blog has been very neglected. That darn work thing seems to keep getting in the way :) just not enough hours in the day. This layout was made for a sketch from Let's Scrap so I need to get this posted ASAP!
The daily inspiration for this layout was from yesterday and it was: It’s Monday, so that must mean we’re in a mood for Mood Music: What’s YOUR song? Make us FEEL it on your page!
I've got a lots and lots of songs that I just love! Some will get me moving, but this one always got me movin on the bike! my own personal jam you might say with an effort to rock while riding.

So here is the sketch that I used I only used the left hand side of the layout for my layout.

This was a fun sketch to use :) Because of the style picture I used I changed up the rotation of that part of the sketch, but that was about it. I used stars for the hexagons, really have been enjoying these stars this month (a prize that I won and received on National Scrapbooking Day so it was added to my current counterfeit kit).

I used the Puffy Alpha Stickers from ATD for my title which is the name of the song.

 It was fun to add the journaling to one of the circles from the paper that I used. I also added the name of the song and the group that sang it in another circle.

 The little Polaroid came from a cut off sheet and fit the layout just right. The Me and You came from the Basic Grey Hipster pad of snippets. It fits in 2 ways: me and the bike have memories and the 2 bikes for me and Dave for the memories we have riding together.

At one time a bike was my only way of transportation even going to work at night this is what I used to travel with :) I've got so many great memories riding a bike that it could probably take on a smashbook in itself for each story. Summer Beauty 2014 for Funday Friday

Good Morning and Happy Friday :) It's been awhile since I posted, been crafting alot, I'm doing May LOAD so there hasn't been much time to blog, just creating. Will try to catch up over the weekend. So it's Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the theme this week is Anything Goes! Our sponsors are Di's Digi Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps. I used Bugaboo's stamp: Flower Garden:

These are some of the pictures of the flowers that we had in our yard last summer. We do enjoy putting in some beauty for the eyes to see. I used my last month counterfeit kit and some of this month's kit too.
For the layout I used the right hand side sketch from Scrap Much? May 1st sketch:
 
 Here is an up-close picture of the stamp:

I colored it with markers and stickles. Added SU bright candy dots to the flower centers for dimension.

 Added lots of fun little details to the layout :) Tag for the journaling and a 4X6 Recollections journal card for a photo mat. I used 2 different vellums for backgrounds

The title came from thickers: Fantastic. Have added this layout to the challenge over at another freaking scrappy challenge for Flowers

Thinking of You for Creative Cutting Challenge

Hello my friends, today I have a card I made for Creative Cutting Challenge of Mother's Day. Because my Mom has passed on I decided to do a Thinking of You card.

This is my version of Creative Pointe's:

Love the quickness of making this card :) The entire file is there to make it just need to add the little extra touches to it and your card base.
I sized it down for an A2 size card and I used my last month's counterfeit kit for the papers and ribbon

I used my Wink of Stella brush to give more glitter to the red rose.

 The thinking of you sentiment is a SU Teeny Tiny wishes stamp and I used CTMH Juniper ink. I punched it out with the SU scallop oval punch and added 3 red rhinestones to it, popped it up on foam tape.

The inside is all ready for my message. Added more of the green ribbon to the inside too.

What a Nut Layout

Good Morning my fellow crafters and bloggers. Happy Scrapbook Day to you a day late :) Did you all enjoy any scrapping yesterday? I did for some of the morning and most of the afternoon till dinner time :) I accomplished 3 layouts playing along with the Sketchathon and Counterfeit Kit Challenge. So it was a very enjoyable and relaxing Saturday for me.
Today is a new challenge over at Lasting Memories last week started the new month of challenges with Life Affirmation theme today's challenge is Determination there is such a wide range of possibilities with this, but I went with one that just maybe a bit unusual but really does fit well with the theme:

Yep the squirrel is determined to get in the bird feeder and he finally accomplished the day I took the pictures. I used 2 different challenges to come up with my layout. The first one is from the sketchathon challenge with this sketch and we had to add brads to the layout too:

It was a fun sketch to try, I like the bottom section of the sketch and thank goodness this month's counterfeit kit had that scallop edge paper in it, that gave me one of the pattern papers for the other challenge over at Counterfeit Kit challenge: Susan's recipe challenge:
Make a layout using the following:
5 brads or enamel dots
4 patterned papers
3 stickers or pieces of chipboard
2 labels or journaling spots
1 piece of ribbon, twine or washi

you can see all 4 pattern papers here: with 3 of them making up the bottom edge of the layout. The white was prescalloped and the blues I used my Recollections punch. The peach is the ribbon for the recipe.

The brads I used are the snowflakes scattered about the layout, the 2 journaling spots are here together one helped make up the block for the title and the other has the journaling on it. The title comes from that sticker I found.

The rest of the recipe is in this top corner of the layout, with the chipboard triangle and the pennant sticker from a recollections pack for the creative chaos series.

This particular time the bird feeder was in the tree, hanging down from one of the limbs. It seems to have jumped to get onto to the feeder and make sure to be on the side so all it's weight isn't on the perch that will close it up.
He's determined to get in the feeder as we are determined to keep him out! He may have won this battle were determined to win in the end!

Playing Along with May Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Happy (Inter)National Scrapbook day to you all :) What better to start off the day then with a new kit from Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. May's counterfeit kit is Everything Old is New Again. Here is the inspiration kit:

January 2011 Jenni Bowlin Kit

 As I was checking out the hop for this kit, one of the forgers showed off their original kit even said about seeing if they had any of the papers left from that kit. That is what lead me to my inspiration, thought I wonder how much paper I have left from my very first purchased paper pad, surprising quite a bit. Classic Style:

It's a LOAD month ahead so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of paper to work with too, so it's a very large kit this month. Besides pulling in the papers from that original kit, I found so other fun papers to use too that are closer to the inspirational kit from the challenge that I added. 

 I pulled a few precut papers for the kit

 I pulled lots of borders paper too. My kit is a bit brighter than the inspirational kit but a nice mix.

 Variety of embellishments to use too. Found some old stuff and some new stuff I got at Christmas to use this month

 I even found one of the first packs of brad I bought look not even opened yet, I'll have to see what I can do to change that.

 The journaling pads I pulled out to use this month and

the stamps and punches I want to use this month. Thought that it would be fun to use the doily stamps this month.
So that is the kit for the month. Busy month ahead scrapping quite a bit so will post when time is available to do, but I have to make sure I have my layouts done for the day first :) Learned that during the last LOAD.
I plan to scrap most of the day today for (Inter)National Scrapbook Day, how about you what are your plans....

 
 

26 books for 2015

My good friend Emily Adams is doing this challenge over at her blog: Mrs Crafty Adams, that is where I was introduced to it from. Thought it was a great idea and decided to do it too. I used to love to read, while growing up and while in my divorce years too. Then when doing LOAD in February, that month with the theme of books got me thinking about reading again. There is a soothing about reading that I'm learning to enjoy again. I read about an hour before heading to bed, it calms and relaxes me so that is a good thing.

The list comes from Bringing Up Burns blog and feel it's a great list to dive into reading again.

2 - a book that was made into a movie

3 - a book you pick solely because of the cover

So since February when I opened a book again just for pleasurable reading, not those old business books I used to read I've read the Twilight Series (all 4 books) so Twilight I would say falls under:6 - a book by an author you've never read before.  New Moon: 23 - a book from the library (that is where I get most of my books :) Eclipse: 2 - a book that was made into a movie,because of the movies I wanted to read the books. Breaking Dawn the final novel in the Twilight Saga series would have to be: 13 - a book with a female heroine why: When Bella faces unexpected and life-threatening situations, she willingly risks her human life and possible vampire immortality to undergo the ultimate transformation from a weak pawn to the strong queen with unique powers to fight the final battle to save all those she loves. (that to me is a female heroine :)

So now I'm just about to start Under the Dome by Stephen King (my favorite author): 7 - a book by an author you love. I enjoyed the television series and a friend told me it's a great book, so decided to read this one next and hopefully have it read before the TV series starts back up in June.

Of all the goals, all is achievable except the one that you started an never finished. That one I'll have to ponder abit cause I don't think I have not started a book and didn't finish it.

Mom I Love You Because....Funday Friday Challenge

Well Good Afternoon! Today is Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the theme is Happy Mother's Day and our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps I made a card for today's challenge:

I used Little Blue Buttons digital stamp:  Miss Lilly Is it for me? 





I seen a really fun combination this week of the navy with the purple and I wanted to give it a go. So I used the 6X6 paper pad that was in my April counterfeit kit for the cardstock. The background navy I dry embossed with swiss dots folder, added 2 layers of cardstock behind the colored stamp image. I used the gold doily for an added color and some extra texture and the fun flowers. Added purple pearls and my sentiment comes from 3 Twenty Crafts: Say It From the Heart.
