Shabby Gone Wild! an April Counterfeit Kit

Hi you all :) I hope the week has been fabulous for you so far :) I'm thinking I'm getting into a groove, since going back to work. Was able to get some time last night to pull my April Counterfeit Kit together :) If you have not done kitting before than this is the place to go and learn about doing it :) Right now kits seem to be a trend with scrapping but instead of buying the newest thing I go rogue and buy from my own stash :) then create my own kit :) with a little help from Counterfeit Kit Club. This month Counterfeit Kit Challenge is counterfeiting a kit from The C'est Magnifique Kit Club. Each kit reveal includes a Main Kit, Paper Add On, Mixed Media Kit, Flower Add On and Embellishment Add On (wow!) which means that this month there are countless counterfeiting opportunities. You could choose to work with the Main Kit; the Main Kit + Add Ons; the Paper Add On + the Mixed Media Kit; the Main Kit + the Flower Add ons. I think I may have gotten a mix of each with mine :) Here is my kit Shabby Gone Wild!
Yes it's a bit of a Shabby Mess when I was gathering it all up last night. You know me and the way I like large kits :) Well this month I went with extra embellishments :) When I seen the inspiring kit that very first day of April:
The first thing I grasped onto was the florals and the butterflies and I knew I had a very old 8X8 paper pad that was just perfect for this kit so that is what inspired me besides the kit picture above:
So this was the beginning of my kit :) My list from what I took from the reveal kit: Frames, Keys, Fabric Flowers, Lace Trims, Borders, Doilys, Big Words, Paper Flowers, Stencils, Polka Dot, Fibers and Victorian Style is what directed my choices for my kit:
My selection of papers, I'm taking another Nicole Jones' class: Two Page Spreads Class so I knew from the 1st class video I was gonna need alot of paper. So this is my loose paper. I also have te 8X8 paper pad and while looking for that I came across so really old 6X12 paper pads from cricut so that went into my kit, I added a 4X6 Moonlight SU paper pad to the kit and Authentic (True Blue) collection to the kit to try to finish that off this month :) and my 2 chosen Dazzles kits:
I added some trims, lace, fibers, metals and a punch that never been open to my kit :) I also am including my MS doily punch set (not in the picture) to the kit cause I have yet to use that and it looks like the month to give that a go
Some of the trims, lace, fibers, washi tape, metals and the punch. I also will have my little heart punch and die cut set available for some hearts too
A close up of the washis and metals
The chosen alphas, I stuck with the blacks, whites, purples, golds and a grey besides the one that came with the Authentic kit. That is it, that's my kit :) A bit later this month getting a chance to do and post it, but I think I'll have fun with it......

I Want My MTV

Hi you all :) Working quite a bit at the new job this week :) So I guess I need to start scheduling posts so the blog isn't so not happening during the week :) but today I got something for you :) Today is the new challenge for this week over at Lasting Memories. With this month's theme of Music Montage this week's challenge is the 80s'! Remember the 80s' this to me by far had to be my favorite era when it came to music there was so much changing in music but lots of fun changes. My layout of the 80s'
The 80s' brought new music to TV with videos :) oh my I loved MTV.

LM 288 -The 80's - Dawn of the Digital Era

This is the challenge :) Take it any way you see fit,  it's anything about that time frame.
This layout came about from LOAD515 Day 26: As seen (heard!) on TV! You can’t help loving the music from TV; theme songs, MTV, Dick Clark, commercials! Tell the story of how your life has been touched by TV music. This is the story of how my life was touched by MTV
1981 was when MTV came out, so cool! Also it was the year this kiddo was born, my son Steven. I got some personal journaling to do yet about how music has evolves just in my life time and that year that MTV came out and how it was a help for me as a Mom at this time
 My son Steven :)

I look forward to seeing your creation about the 80s :) Chat later and I wish you a great day today :)

That's One Handsome Boy

Good Morning you all :) This is gonna be a short post today, doing it up before heading to work this morning :) I had totally forgot about doing my DT project for Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style, you ever have one of those moments? when you see the date and dawns on you that you are to have your project in to hostess 2 hours from now! Yep did and went through that last night.
This is the 4X6 card I made last night :) Zachary becoming a big boy and getting his first pair of real shoes, he had been walking a couple of months when this picture was taken :) This is my take
On this fabulous new sketch by our super talented Maven, Shawn Lahr.....
Sketch #21.....
Isn't this a cool sketch :) Love the layer look to it.
Here is the layout I did with it. I used the card within the collage of photos. The idea of the layout came from Scrapbook Challenges new challenge series: Liftapalooza 2016 this is my lift of ALi's layout that was featured which you can find here
I had chose this paper awhile back for this layout with plans to do it :) So glad to finally get it scrapped :)
A close up of the collage of photos and the card
The title came from a sticker I found
Close up of the journaling in the corner of the layout. So I guess I'm gonna have to get my planning calendar out and actually start using it so this doesn't happen again :) Thank goodness for my last month's Camera Crazy counterfeit kit was handy so I can grab a couple of papers to get this layout done in very quick time.  Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :)
And the prize that is up for grabs this month:
The prize this month is this fabulous Life in Pictures stamp set. Don't you love these old cameras?
You have until April 30, 2016 to add your links!

My 1st Design Team Post for Use Your Stuff

Hi you all and welcome to my blog :) I have some news to announce today :) I have made the design team over at Use Your Stuff. This is my very first challenge with Use Your Stuff and it was a challenge for sure, it's using tissue paper on your project :) So I had not done anything with tissue paper before that I premade, so I want to Google for a bit of help. Got 3 different options and you will see all 3 on my card
The big fun green polka dot flower is tissue paper :) So festive so I knew then I was making a birthday card :) I've got quite a few birthdays this month so it's great to get started on them.
Another view of the tissue flower I added stickles here and there on the petals for so me glitter too.
And the inside of the card all ready to have the sentiment attached to it.
So where was the tissue paper? Any where you saw the green with polka dots. I did the flower, I used a punch for the stars (the secret is several layers) and the tissue paper technique I found on youtube for the sentiment portion (just a cool way to add texture.
Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing what you create for this fun challenge over at Use Your Stuff.

The Daily Grind

Good Morning you all :) Well I guess it was about time I create this year's goals layout :) This was a layout made during Calvinball, but it was created for over at Paper Issues for their crop weekend last month for their selfie challenge. Speaking of Calvinball I had a fantastic time playing along I made #15 in the overall count board for the month and create 31 different crafty projects over the month.
I do goals each year and this time decided to do it with a scrapbook layout :) Maybe a yearly layout for my All About Me album will be taking place. I used my Camera Crazy kit, last month's counterfeit kit, for the layout. After hearing what the theme will be for May LOAD over at Scrap Happy I thought best to save the rest of the Simple Story collections: Daily Grind and 24/7 for that LOAD. But I did get a few layouts made from the collections, this being one of them.
I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for my layout inspiration Make it Monday No. 56

I really like the layers of this sketch and was able to use a PL card for the 4X4 photo spot.
The selfie of me was taken Jan 1 of this year, I try to reflect on the past year and think of what I accomplish and then list what I want to accomplish in the year ahead. This is that list.
I got an Easy title for my layout from the Daily Grind sticker sheet and just loved this 6X12 paper that was in the collection for the Date spot and some fun phrases too.
As my favorite color is purple besides gold I knew I had to add just a bit to the layout and was able to accomplish that with the doily for the peeking layer that was on the sketch. This was one of the quickest layouts I've done in along time and I let the words on the papers be the embellishing of the layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing the view from my little corner of the world

Disco....A Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning you all :) A bit of a flurry day here as the snow is blowing around so far not much of any accumulation. Today is a Lasting Memories challenge and it's a new month of challenges. That means we have a brand new theme and set of challenges for the month  for you over at Lasting Memories! For the month of April our theme is - Musical Montage - and you need to base your layout on the era chosen for each week! For this first challenge it is The Disco Era!
What I created for this challenge:
So glad I have some of these layouts from LOAD515 that I never blogged about that is the perfect fit for this month's theme. Music is such a cool way to talk about your own personal life and what was taking place during that time. So this layout also came from Day 22: Musical Style: Disco. Disco! Can you say glitter, bright lights and big hair? Make a page with a disco feel. That is what I tried to do with the layout is bring out that style of glitter and that glitter ball that was everywhere at that time.
For this first challenge it is The Disco Era!
What does the disco era mean to you? You can take inspiration from this photo, from a song, the fashion, anything to do with the disco era.
Disco Era, pictures of me about that time and a list of tunes plus journaling about my feelings about Disco. The disco era to me was a cool era :) I loved the music and still enjoy hearing it at times. The dances that were created was easy enough to do and fun too.I brought in lots of glitter to my layout :) and the glitter ball too.
My journaling of what I feel about the time period.
A list not in any special order of some of the songs I remember and that were popular during that time period. A couple of pictures of me from 1976. I can't say that the fads of that era struck me, but the music now that was a good time :)
Thank you for stopping by today and we would love to see what you create about the Disco Era and link it up at Lasting Memories
