CKC - August 2023 Kit Reveal - Sunshine Happy

Welcome to my blog and happy August, the end of dog days of summer are upon us and we are at the moment enjoying more comfortable temperatures! I'm just glad to have a few days off from work and play with my kit :) It's the 1st of the month and that means a new inspiration kit over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, you should have arrived here from Tara's blog I'm looking forward to checking out her kit and see what inspired her. Welcome our Guest Designer - a dear old friend of CKC & former Master Forger - Clair Rigby!

Master Forger of Ceremonies Lisa here, your Counterfeit Kit Challenge host for the month of August. Lisa has chosen another new kit club for August - this time from the European online shop Pink and Paper. It's run by Flóra who has designed and worked with some of the big names including designing the latest Pinkfresh Studio collection, Lovely Blooms. Her kit club is a little different - it's a private membership which includes two online live workshops to create pages together using the kit elements - and of course I had to give a go! I love it when something is coming out of my corner of the world! Apart from the fact that I think new kit clubs should be applauded in general, I think this is an interesting mix of colours and motifs as well as being a kit that can be stretched as you need it - stronger colours can be picked out for colder seasons, lots of florals and summer colours for us in the middle of summer.

A sweet summer kit with the blues, the checks, the yellows, some pink and even some purple. When I seen the inspiration I knew I would be mixing up some Pinkfresh Studio with some 49&Market.

Some stickers that I want to finish up this month and thought they look good with this kit plus some CTMH stickers that just about matched up in color with the 49&Market Gardenia collection. Some Prima butterflies and chipboard:
To round out the end with some subdue colors in the 49&Market Tranquility collection for some neutrals and softer colors

That's it that is my kit :) As I'm playing along with 31 Days of Cutfiles so this gives me plenty to go with those cutfiles. Extraordinary LO for Counterfeit Kit challenge

  Good morning and welcome :) Here's the 1st challenge of the month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Leslie is our host this month and her challenge is:

 With a fun way to get creative with your photos! Scrap a group photo & find an innovative way to point out a significant person. Make your story about them - it could even by YOU!

Some techniques might be using sandpaper to blur everyone else, a vellum overlay with an oval cutout that reveals that person, paint/markers to draw attention by outlining or drawing something attention-getting, dress the person in clothing cut out of patterned paper, add a hat (sticker?), frame them, or give them a sign to hold. 

I chose to use an arrow to point out our grandson. Found this picture of Brandon during his college days. Used a cut file with minimal embellishments from my current kit Goovy Cool. Used some embellishments that referred to school and the glass dish reminds me of a cake dish.

CKC - July 2023 Kit Reveal - Groovy Cool!

Welcome to my blog and happy July, let the Summer begin! We're to see 90s come in after the 4th of July. I'm just glad to have a few days off from work and play with my kit :) It's the 1st of the month and that means a new inspiration kit over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, you should have arrived here from Tara's blog I'm looking forward to checking out her kit and see what inspired her.

Welcome to our Guest Designer this month - a familiar face in our community! Dawn is a wonderfully prolific creative & an active member of the CKC family DawnLyn Litz:

 I love the CKC community because they are friendly and supportive of goals. I came to the group at the end of January and loved the idea of making a kit that I jumped into kit making in February. Last month I created 33 layouts with my kit.

Leslie chose for our inspiration kit because it is a BRAND NEW KIT CLUB! Mercy Tiara is likely a familiar name to scrapbookers & May was her first kit offer. It is a bright, playful & funky kit thanks to a focus on Jen Hadfield's Flower Child collection. Vicki Boutin's Where To Next?, Maggie Holmes' Woodland Grove, and Pink Fresh Studio's Spring Vibes all play supporting roles.

Here are my choice of papers:

I was drawn to alot of Pinkfresh Studio, Cocoa Vanilla coming in with a few things that I didn't have but looked similiar. Lot of fun papers I purchased early in my scrapbooking. I've got a goal to do some travel layouts this month too so brought in some travel papers.

Add on kits:

I was drawn into the colors of the Simple Stories to match with the other papers and the cassette tape stamp drew me in to add this collection to the mix.

Here's the cutfiles I chose, just a few and thought these would work for me for my plans this month of scrapping

I could not find any cassette paper (if I coe across some while unpacking this weekend I'll add it to the kit) But I knew I had some from some old October Afternoon doo-dads packs.
Diecuts, Frames, Stickers, Chipboard all the things needed to create some fun layouts
Puffies! Lot of those in the kit
Enamels in more forms than just dots to sprinkle about the layouts
And my alphas, I found just the one alpha that had gold foil so brought that into the kit with some cork, woodgrain, acetate, coppery glitter and some with color.
