Page a Day in May Challenge-Day 2

Hi and welcome back to another May's page a day challenge. This page was so much fun to put together:
The page was brought about from this sketch at Scrapbooking About.com:
http://0.tqn.com/d/scrapbooking/1/0/p/7/1/fallfeltsketch.jpg
I'm not quite sure what to title it yet (there is enough room to add one) not sure if it needs a title.

I will let my DIL date it and journal the page these are her pics (This is a gift for them, but more for her since our son was deployed at the time she raised Zach basically his 1st year as a single parent.

Details:
I used Elegant Edges: swirl2-shift on page 39 @ fit to page for the water paper. Green background paper came from the DCWV Heirloom pack. Fussy cut pieces from 3 bugs in a rug-Summer-Playtime and Summer-Words cardstock. Journal block and date ticket from Cosmo Cricket social club elements-Now Spin Me Round. Couple of stickers from hugz&dotzkit-pacific. Chipboard pieces from my stash that I got in a swap box that worked perfect for this layout. I used CTMH Liquid Glass to enhance the centers of the sunny words (look like flower petals). Used SU ticket duo for the the date piece.

I really enjoy how it turned out took about an hour and half to do (I had all the paper choices already picked out for it)

BBQ

Hi you all, don't you just love getting an invitation to a great party! During the summer we sometimes throw a backyard BBQ, this year here is the invitation for it

Today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog and the theme is Invitation so with that in mind I came up with this year's invite to our backyard BBQ that we hold in the late summer. The card base is tan cardstock from staples, the backgroud paper is from my stash (no name on it), the BBQ are sticker letters from Making Memories Creative Letters-chunky deep red. Your invited tis from the CTMH Little Reminder stamp set stamped on recollections Spice Markets cardstock pack punched with SU oval punch. The barbeque cut is from the cricut cartridge Block Party cut at 3.5" mainly from scraps on hand bling up the  wheels and the steam with stickles. Block Party is great cartridge for the summer cookout season. Thanks for stopping by and hop over to Card A Day Blog and join in with the monthly challenge

I created this scrapbook page
from this sketch
Document Life Workshop Weekly Sketch 1
This is the sketch that Kathy posted on the facebook group ScrappersChallenge for the first day's challenge. My photos were quite abit smaller than as for the sketch so I moved it around abit but it's based on the same concept.

Working on one of my 2013 personal goals-Zachary's 1st year album, here's another page completed. The pictures are of his first top teeth, I have either one or need to create one for his very first tooth and will post at another time. This May month challenge may get me through completing this album.
Personalized journaling-changed a word after taking the photo to his from what I wrote of my (no more journaling before bedtime, lol).
See you tomorrow with another page....

What have you created today

Wedding Card-CCC #15

Welcome to my blog, today is a card I designed for the Creative Cutting Challenge #15
I created the card with the cake from the Wedding Set collection. Lots of elements in this collection to make many cards with.
Wedding Set - Click Image to Close
This is such a cool set and you'll need to check out Creative Cutting Challenge #15 blog spot to see more examples of this set.
When I seen the set I new I had to do that cake. This cut is great for a card but also can see this on the side of a wedding layout for a border of the cake cutting picture. I chose purple for accent color, inked the doily with purple ink to give it a break against the white background of the card. Used divine swirls embossing folder to give the cake a look of icing. Purple glitter paper to give it some bling and popped up the sentiment.

Card details:
Supplies:
Cardstock: cardbase premade card I had on hand-White pearlescent for the cake, the purples: coredinations: Glitter, Recollections
Embellishments Doily from my stash, heart border from K&Company: Elegance Adhesive Borders
Inks: Memories dye: Violet
Stamps: SU- Teeny Tiny Wishes
Punches: SU- Ticket Duo
Tools:Cricut Expression, SCAL, Cuttlebug, Divine Swirls embossing folder

thanks

Welcome, I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog today and I have a Thanks card that I recently made at Stampin Up class for you today:

A bright, cherry way to say thanks to that special person or persons. The card was made up entirely of Stampin Up products. Very easy to make, just a few punches and some stripes of paper to make a standout sentiment, Border of paper with a few flowers included and another border of ribbon. The detail on the sentiment was used with a stamp, versamark ink and clear embossing powder. The stripes of paper were cut on the ends to make the pennants and the white was cut down to fit with in the striped paper. Background was embossed.
Thanks for stopping by today and swing by Monday for a card I made for Creative Cutting Challenge.

A New Teen Birthday

Hi you all and welcome to my blog it's choice week over at Card A Day Blog! Today I'm the designer over there and I think this is a first for CADB and I think it's a wonderful idea. April tends to be a birthday month in our family so today I brought you a special birthday card I made for my grand-daughter see she turned 13 this year.
This is my first ever side step card. I come across a similar card on another blog (Sorry I didn't mark down the blog) and thought this was the perfect card for Asticia! So I can't take credit for the card, but it was a good one to lift. So I went out checking youtube to find out how to make a step-card, I came across 2 of them with really good tutorials. So I made a dummy card to try out the technique:

So the testout was from one of the tutorials (<-----) and the one I did for the actual card is ------>
The 12 was cut from the Mickey Font cartridge @1.75". Forever Young was used for the words @ 2" and the girl (model 20 on pg 43) @ 3.5"
The bag was never used, I'll have to figure out what to do with that another time. This was a fun card to do and I can see more in my future, just need to figure out when.

Supplies:
Cardstock: SU for the cardbase-Celery, the purples for the numbers came from my stash
Patterned Paper:  the Green cardstock for the letters is from DCWV-the tie-dyed stack, brown shadow dotted paper, the pink paper the green dotted paper and the happy day paper canme from the Lime Twist-Life of the Party pack
Inks: Memento Black and Brilliance Cosmic Copper was used for the sentiments
Stamps: SU- You're Amazing and CTMH-Card Chatter-Birthday
Tools:  Cricut Expression
(New technique-2013 goal)
