Jake

Hi you all, 2nd post today, lots of challenges I'm trying to get in before the end of the month. This layout is specifically about Jake our older blue heeler. I used a sketch from Stuck?! their July 1st sketch challenge and this is also for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog's 1st challenge to use triangles.
I came across these 2 pictures of Jake while trying to decide what I wanted to do with the challenge:
here is the sketch:

Jake entered into our life when he was 7 months old:
The upper right corner has the very first picture that we took of Jake we got him Feb 13, 2002. I used my current counterfeit kit for the background paper and the scattered papers used for triangles. Also the chipboard that I included in the kit that I found going through a box. The rub-on splotches are from an old kit and I can actually say it's out of my stashed used it up here for 3 spots and the wrapper is in the trash. The dog pieces came from my dog specific drawer. (Pebbles tag with ribbon, MM mini metal circle tab and a sticker with label made from my brother labeler)
The 2nd picture in the lower left side of the sketch is Jake some time after the surgery, his hair hasn't fully come in yet and you can see the stitches. Oh Jack did not like the cone collar (the collar that they give them to keep them from licking the area) So when we were home we would take it off as much as we possible could and still keep and eye in him.
The Journal spot is from We R Memory Keeper 4X6 pad: Friends Furever cut in half tells of when we got Jake and of the accident, providing the dates. This triangle sketch was perfect for out tripod dog :) Jake now:
at 12 years old, he's not as active as he used to be but he still gets along fine, just takes him a bit longer.
Do you have a pet? Do you ever scrap about the pet?
Thanks for stopping by a 2nd time today :)

  5. Adorable layout about your dog and I love how you used the sketch. Tina, we just got a puppy and I asked the same questions on the tMN facebook group. Too funny. Stop by and share your adorable layout. And I completely agree with what Emily said. :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheMemoryNest/

  6. Oh Tina, I love, love this layout!! Jake is beautiful and looks so sweet too. I love the triangles on this layout. So fun and colorful! I'm glad that Jake survived it his farming accident. It's good to know that losing his leg didn't slow him down any. It's so funny that I saw this layout when I did because hubby was mowing with the sickle bar and he said he had to keep an eye on our dog (little jack russell) so she didn't come up with 3 legs! And then yesterday she must have gotten stung by a bee because we wouldn't use his one leg and just walked around on her other three legs for a while, which she did just fine too. lol It amazes me how they can adjust. This is a great layout Tina! Hugs, Brenda

  7. Great use of triangles. I also like the way you added the circles in the title to break it up, yet add to the geometric feel.
