My Jan 2016 Counterfeit Kit " Brighter Year Ahead"

Hi :) Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog has a new kit reveal for the new year and they went the Scarlet Lime planner society kit club for their inspiration this month. They say:  We are not expecting you to make a planner, but instead use the kits as inspiration to make your own kit...to create layouts, cards...whatever you wish!
This is my inspiration I chose their May kit:
MayKit
I looked at the kit, noted what I saw and used those notes to build my kit: Colors: pink, Navy blue, light blue, green and a mint green too, red, yellow and the blue pained wood grain for the backdrop. Patterns/motifs: cameras, typewriter, hearts, flowers, plus signs, polka dots on the sticker circles. Extras: Washi Tape with cameras and days, Roller stamp, tin pins, tag, envelopes, camera clips, tidbits, labels, project life cards. So with this in hand I went searching in my stash.
So my kit for the month is called the Brighter Year Ahead:
The Shimelle paper pad from American Crafts was perfect for this month's inspiration. (on the top row is all from the paper pad) The colors and the motifs were close to the theme of the patterns of the kit. So I used the cut up sheets (those are in the bottom row)  for my base of the kit to work with and grabbed 9 other paper pads that had similar colors and hardly used to get my papers from for my month of crafting. Since I'm not much of a planner girl, I went more to create a kit to scrap and make cards with. Keeping within 30 pages to work with (but to grab more if needed) for the month.
I belong to a group that does challenge layouts, that is automatically 15 pages for backgrounds needed, besides paper to enhance the layouts hence the 30 pieces of paper.
I shopped my stash to come up with things needed to enhance the kit and my layouts.
This is my bag of goodies from my stash
Lots of stamps for cardmaking, a couple of punches I got a few years ago fro Christmas, sadly the packages have never been open the same with the roller stamp I got that last year for Christmas and still in the packaging. Ribbons, mists, washi, brads, tags, stickers, paperclips, enamel dots, border strips, old gel pens and old glitter glue. I picked out 3 6X6 paper pads to atleast crack open and one of he pads come with brad and other goodies.
I corraled the paper pads, stamps and alphas in this container
A closer look at those punches and roller stamp
A better picture of the embellishments
Everything put in a container and then added to the 31 bag as I clean up my space I can easily move this around and out of the way :) My Ink of choice this month will be my distress inks for all my stamping needs.

With sticking with my 2016 Word: To-Do
My goal for this month is 15 layouts that aren't all related to Christmas, goal to make 13 cards, goal to do my December Daily 2015 (but those papers were chosen in November to be used). This works with my word of the year and with that of setting my monthly goals and breaking them down to smaller goals. It's gonna be a fun month of crafting and it all starts here with my January Counterfeit Kit made for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.

  1. I would be a little shocked by the size of your kit, if I didn't already know that you're a super speedy scrapper and that you'll no doubt achieve your scrapping goals for the month!

I love the bold, bright colours of the kit (and the name is absolutely perfect!) I'm looking forward to seeing some of your cards and, of course, that completed December Daily x

  5. Tina, you get a big gold star for all of the items that were still in their packaging that you pulled for this kit! You are certainly starting out 2016 out right for a Brighter Year Ahead with all these goodies & an organized plan to use them. Sending encouragement to finish the DD - it's so much nicer when the memories are fresh. Well done!
