Pork & Sauerkraut layout

This layout was created from LOAD day #7 : Food. Another open prompt that can be used about anything in reference to Food. There was something mentioned about traditions in the video so that is where I headed. We have a New Year's family tradition of Pork & Sauerkraut. I did some research to find a reason why? Google to the rescue and all the people that post about this rare happening in Pennsylvania.
I used the sketch below for my layout just turned it to the left for what I wanted to do with the layout
This sketch was part of a challenge over at the Crafty Challenge Chicks facebook group :) where we do challenges 2xs a month. It also fell into the SNC group's Topys Turvy challenge for the turn of the sketch.
Some fun journaling and childhood memories about having Pork & Kraut on New Years Day
Picture of dinner and some fun elements to fulfill the requirements of the challenge. Love that I got a chance to use that smash book lucky penny.
Lots of sequins for the festivities of the day! CM vellum sticker on the PL card
Some more vellum used here and more sequins
My title spot. Used my circle punch with a PL card for the spot. Not the typical layout but it sure was fun to create.

  2. I like that your journaling combines the history with your own memories of this tradition. Great colors too!

  3. What a fun layout Tina! We too, would do pork and sauerkraut for New Year's day. Your picture has me drooling!!! I love sauerkraut but other family members did not. Hubby would have a little taste just to get his "luck". lol I didn't have anything this year, so I hope I didn't doom myself to bad luck and no posterity. Hugs, Brenda
