1977

Day 22 of LOAD 514, the theme is pop culture and the prompt: Signs of the Times. As soon as I seen the prompt I knew what I was doing, the year was 1977 and Disco played a big part of it:
This was the year that my best friend and I were at a good place in our life as a teen, active in school and active with the school dances, we always had a blast! This was the year that Saturday Night Fever was the top dance movie and we knew all the moves.
I used this sketch for the layout it's from Challenge YOUrself:

I also used the challenge over a Sketch N Scrap with the host: Rachelle that we had to use brads or pins I used them on the top corner of the picture:
I used my current counterfeit kit for the layout:
The gold foil for the disco ball that I scored to give the look. Used lettering from the Simple Stories harvest sheet
The title is a picture, also a picture of me and a picture of my best bud Beth. Fun times is a creative memories from the Cheerful sticker pack. \
The journaling block: Tells of the year, the school and the dances:
Sign of the times, my era the biggest signs were Disco! 1977 the top dance movie was Saturday Night Fever and me and my best bud we were in a good place 9th grade/8th grade Jr High we climb that invisible ladder and finally made it :) We knew the dances and knew them well so when the music came on we were out on that dance floor having so much fun. Bus Stop was the line dance during our era and it was an easy dance that most people could do so we were fitting in just fine with all the others dancing at the Jr High dances.
Thanks for stopping by once again today, what dance craze was part of your teen years?

  4. Oh yes, the disco days! You have given the disco vibe to this layout so well Tina!! I loved those disco days and songs so much. I was 17 in '77 and my girlfriend and I were always going dancing and to the movies. I watch Saturday Night Fever over and over at the movies. And even took dance classes with a guy friend. So much fun. In '78 when we graduated we went to King's Dominion and they had a disco "bar" on the hotel grounds, and that is where you would find myself and my friends while where were there. So many memories you have evoked with this layout! lol It is a fabulous layout. Hugs, Brenda
