Dave & Tina's Adventures in Gettysburg

Hello and welcome :) Tis the season of taxes prep to make my appt on Tuesday, so not to much crafting this weekend. But I have 2 layouts yet from LOAD that I want to post today before I start crunching numbers! This one was from Day 27 it was a Friday and that theme was Topic Sentence or Subject. The Prompt was from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and as you can see from my title we were to replace the word Alice and Wonderland with our own version of the subject hence: Dave & Tina's Adventures in Gettysburg.
The pictures and event is from February 23, 2013 (I've corrected the date since I made the layout). The tractor club we belong to Moline Gold Collectors Assoc. is hosting the national Minneapolis Moline Collectors, inc. (MMCI) Winter convention this year in April. So that particular day we were down to see the place where we are holding the convention. Of course I wanted to make sure to scrap some of it so while driving around the area I took pictures :) This is a collage of what I saw. (I hadn't been down since I was a kid so it was fun to see it again :)
I used the papers from DCWV Linen Closet pad and most of the stickers came from Paper House: Civil War collection. The Alphas came from EK Success sticko and Gettysburg came from the smae collecton of Alphas I pulled for this month's kit (that is what made me decide to use these very old alphas when I seen them)
A collection of pictures from the drive
 The journaling spot
These photos were taken when we did just a bit of walking in the battlefield, just in an hour we didn't cover even a quarter of it. They have a self drive tour so something to look forward to in April (hopefully by then the weather will be a bit warmer to enjoy it.
Thanks for stopping by and catch the last layout of LOAD I did later today. Off to crunch some numbers!

  2. A layout from my neck of the woods! Love your layout Tina, and love your title for it. Looks like you got some great pictures too. So how did you like Gettysburg?! It would have been nicer in the warmer weather. lol Last year was cold too like this year has been. Lots to see and do in Gettysburg, so I hope you both had a grand time!!! Hugs, Brenda

  3. Nice page - really nice. My hubby is into Civil War history - we need to get started visiting some of the more important sites.

  4. Great layout! You did a great job getting pictures (I think the dreary weather adds to the feel of the battlefield!) Thanks so much for sharing! I hope you get to enjoy more when you head back in April!
