Pumpkin Carving for a Funday Friday

Good Afternoon you all, whoa is that a mistype?!! No it isn't, so sorry for the delay today posting, a flu shot yesterday seem to have hit me wrong last night or it could have been the breakup of my sleep pattern to make it to work to get the shot in the middle of the day. But whatever it was I was sniffly and sneezy all night at work, so was not a happy person, a bit grumpy matter a fact. So when I got home I was a bit dopey and sleepy but didn't think I needed to see the Doc and just went to sleep! LOL not a bit bashful for that pun was intended :) What a way to start a Friday so glad to have a longer weekend. But that is enough about my day and I've got lots to do over the next few hours for posts this weekend :)
Today's Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack is: This week's Challenge:
"Halloween"
Create a card, layout or project with
this week's theme!
Our sponsors this week is Di's Digis Stamps & Limited Runs Digital Stamps:
This is my next to oldest son Steven :) I come across some old photos of the kids, which is great! One of the prompts over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group prompted me to use this picture this month and then yesterday's LOAD was the perfect prompt for making my layout and the digi stamp was a welcome addition to the layout. LOAD22: Sword: I followed the Product/Technique prompt: Product/technique: Make slits in your background & weave something through them. The corner diecut of the JackOLanterns I got from a friend awhile back and so glad I thought to use it for this :)
This was actually a fun technique that I don't think I ever did on a scrapbook layout, let alone directly to the main layout cardstock, but I cut and I did it :) I carved the paper just like the title of the layout and just like Steven carving the pumpkin :) What a cool theme :)
I used a Limited Runs Digital Stamp: Halloween Sign. I used my bic markers to color in the digi stamp and inked the edges and distressed the cardstock a bit so it wasn't so white with Memento's Potter's Clay ink. I got to use my new round distressing ink tool for really like the smoothness of that one vs the rectangle one so I think I have a new favorite :)
A close up of the picture and the journaling that I can kinda figure out for the time period. That is the only problem with older pictures it can be a guessing game on the date. This is the original I did scan it so I had another copy, but thinking that the original is better to be on the layout than in an envelope with the rest of the photos :) Next year's goal is to get all the photos I found scrapped. I used my current counterfeit kit for the layout and some Halloween theme products :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you creation linked up soon.

  4. What a great layout Tina! I really love carving pumpkins .... and watching my daughter carve pumpkins is such a blessing. Your son looks like he was really into it! I love the top portion of the layout with the checkered paper and think your digi is adorable. Hope you had fun making this layout cuz it's really a great one!

  5. All those great techniques on one layout! The weaving and carving is a super combination and just goes to show what a lot of wonderful thought and effort you put into your pages! Hope the effects of your shot are gone now and you are feeling 100% again!
