Welcome to the Lycoming County Fair

Hi and welcome :) It's been a very busy weekend for me :) LOAD member's edition has begun and also I joined up for a 10 day challenge over in facebook a crafty challenge every other day. So been busy craftin and scrappin this weekend, also finding time to be with the Hubby too. So a quick post and I'm back to my daily LOAD challenge to get done before I lay down for my Sunday nap.
This week's challenge over at Lasting Memories is:
It is time for another awesome challenge here at LM!! In keeping with our "hot hot hot" theme this month, our challenge this week is to create a layout that shows "Summer time fun" AND we are looking for paper and/or silk flowers on there as well!
This is just one of the pages that I have planned for this year's County Fair. We do try to attend quite often and it's always a Summer Time Fun thing to do. This also went with my prompt for LOAD2 Compass: Story: Tell about a favorite place you love to visit.
The prompts this month are a bit different for LOAD where you get a few choices on the subject at hand and I chose the first prompt, I did use another sketch than the one that was provided:

So glad I seen this sketch over at ScrappersChallenge FB group it was a fun one to use for this and my current counterfeit kit had the stripes to use for the layout.
The story of the layout centered around the animal exhibits, it's always something we enjoy seeing, even as a kid I loved to see the animals there at the fair.
I added the flower pieces where the number spots were on the sketch, thought it really made a nice border element.
Washi tape and a scrap of the green for the pennants in this area. So glad for this theme cause I would not have considered flowers for the layout, but think it's a nice touch for some of the prize animals at the fair. So now it's your turn :) I hope to see your creation soon on the link up over at Lasting Memories.

  3. Nice layout - those flowers are a great substitute for the numbers. We went to our town's fair yesterday - love this time of the year!

  4. your flowers sprinkled across the page are so pretty - I must remember to fish out my flowers more often. Good for you for finding a sketch which better suited your page and for following the prompts in LOAD so well.
