February Blog Hop with Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Welcome to February's Blog Hop from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. If you came from Julene's blog Julene By Design your on the right track and If your just starting the hop, then you'll want to go to the beginning at  CKCB, so you can see all the ladies' contributions. The challenges this month are:
  1. Challenge #1 Ugly Sweater Inspiration - do you love them or hate them?  Let those big shapes and bright colors take center stage on your projects!
  2. Challenge #2 Angled Backgrounds -  create an angled background for your project
  3. Challenge #3 10 Minute Craft Dash -  time yourself ... you have TEN MINUTES to make a card!
I chose to do challenge 2 the Angled Background. This was really fun, I enjoyed making something different and the background made a nice back drop to the photos. I created a 2-page layout and the left page held the background
This layout emphasis is my Husband and the reasons why I love him and these are a few of them. So I dug and dug for pictures today to make the layout (really need to figure out an organized way to keep photos). These are just some of my favorites of him, I had a stack of pictures that were more than I could hold on this layout :)
Some closer shots of the layout:
Left side is made up of one piece of 12 X 12 that was actually cut to get some pieces for the angled background so I grabbed the natural dotted cardstock from my stash to make it a 12 X 12
The right side held most of the pictures and the some of the reasons why I love my husband

And if you got lost here's the order for the Blog Hop:

Stop by again soon, I finished up another scrapbook layout over the weekend with the kit and I want to tackle that 10 min card too.

  1. I love the combination of papers you used for your background, and the washi in the corners adds extra angles! :o)

  2. That's a great layout, look forward to seeing the card :)

  3. ooo, love layouts that are all soppy and romantic like this ! Great take on the angles.

  4. What a lovely tribute to your hubby - love the angled papers

  5. Bold, bright and oh so colourful, what a great way to celebrate your DH. The angled challenge seems to have inspired everyone the most so far on the hop.

  6. Nicely done, I really like how the angles help guide us down the page even though they are horitzontal. And the companion page will all those photos is fab too.

  7. I love the way all the patterns work together, with the angled design creating a sense of fun and movement :o)

  8. So sweet of you to document what a treasure your husband is to you. Wonderful topic for February!

  9. Wow! Great background and an abundance of photos used too.

  10. Great layout, Tina. Love the mix of pattern papers for the background and what a selection of pictures.

  11. Such a sweet idea for a page, and you've chosen your papers really well for a soft yet masculine layoute!

  12. Super cute layout!! Love all he photos!

  13. Oh that is a fabulous layout, loving all the photos too!
