CHEESY

Welcome back to another layout from LOAD517 Day 7
Prompt:
Gone With the Wind – 1939
“As God is my witness, I’ll never be hungry again!” Inspired by Scarlett’s vow, this is a food prompt! Because she didn’t have much food, you are on a “starvation diet” to tell your food story. Use only three colors, two embellishments, and a one-word title.
The 3 color I used was Brown, Blue and Red. I used Brads and Chipboard for my 2 embellishments and the 1 word title: CHEESY. I used a cooking papers and props for my foody layout. but I did use that maroon pattern paper from my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for the layout as well as brads from my 100 Pattern Paper facebook group challenge a few months ago that has been sitting on my desk to get used up :)
I used the May 1-7 sketch over at Sketches in Thyme:
May 1-7 Sketch #275
This was a fun sketch to use
 close up of the journaling
The recipe and the scattering of the brads in the 3 choosen colors
Found a fun vellum quote in blue to use too for the layout. Thanks for stooping buy once again to see what I'm up too in my little corner of the world.

Procrastination

Yep that would be my Kryptonite! Procrastination is my worst enemy :) LOAD517 Day 21

Prompt:
Superman – 1978
What’s your Kryptonite? What stops you for doing what you need, or want, to do?
Procrastination has to be my kryptonite. I can have good intentions and then something else that is usually more fun will stop me from doing what I should be doing :) House Cleaning falls into this category very well :)
I used my current counterfeit kit Nature's Party for this layout. Also grabbed a couple of project life cards too for my journaling and for the word card cause this is my life.
I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme May 15-21 sketch for my inspiration for this layout:
May 15-21 #277
For a really quick layout this sketch is a fast one to use
 close up of the layout
and a close up of the journaling :) I'm thinking that's all the challenges that I did over the past month if not then I missed them :) Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a fantastic day

Home Machine

Welcome back to another layout from LOAD517 Day29
Prompt:
The Matrix – 1999
Create a layout that tells about a decision that indirectly led you to an entirely different experience. I never would have thought I’d end up ____ when I started doing _____.
This was a fun way to start a prompt with a statement to start off my journaling. I had come across some early photos when I was just about to get started with my business venture and this embroidery job pretty well clinched the thoughts of me getting an embroidery commercial machine. found out the home machine could only do so much.
I used that crazy piece of scrapbook paper that was in my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party. I really was struggling with using this paper for some odd reason.
I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme for my layout:
A fun layout to play with :)
 My journaling spot
Fun word stickers for the corner cluster. I used brads once again for my embellishment along with a piece of ribbon for a paper strip.
The small title thought it would reference the small machine well.
This is the hat, found it was a bit harder to do with the home machine and if I wanted to make this business work and be profitable I would need a larger machine.
Thanks for stopping by once again today to see what I've been doing in my little corner of the world.

Momma

Good Morning and welcome :) This is a layout from LOAD517 Day 9
Prompt:
The Maltese Falcon – 1941
Sam Spade is a great detective. Use clues in your prompt today to tell your story. BONUS: Use only black and white as your colours today in a tribute to the film noir genre.
I used Black n White for both my layout and my photos :) can't say I'm a big fan of the look but I did try it and was surprised how well it did turned out :) I think a color photo would have probably been better but this is how I learn what to do and not to do :)
I used the one B&W pattern paper in my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party and I also used a paper from my 100 Pattern Paper challenge, a scrap paper, a couple of project life cards and 2 washi tapes for my layout all in black and white. I sprinkled white enamel dots on the layout too. 2 black and white photos for the layout.
I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme May 8-14 sketch for my layout inspiration:
May 8-14 #276
Usuing washi tape for the arrows and the stitching lines on the sketch.
Close ups of the layout:
Love this details card for the family photo

and I found this photo of Waylon too from the previous year to add to the layout too. As the theme of the layout is Sabrina being a Momma and she is such a great momma to these 3 cuties :)
Thanks for stopping by today and you'll probably see a couple more layouts yet today :)

Welcome Springtime

Hello :)
This layout came From LOAD517 Day 17
Prompt:
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – 1971
What moment in your life left you in awe and wonder? Where do you find awe and wonder in your daily life? It might be a big moment or a small one, let’s honour it today!
This is a picture I took one day when Buddy and I went for a walk, as I was coming around the one area of the rail trail we have at the house I was in awe when I saw all the fruit trees in blossom. Made for a fantastic spring site and this is what I honor today. I used a piece of kraft paper for the challenge over at the 100 Pattern Paper facebook challenge group. A Mary E paper and got out my paper crimper too for another challenge in another facebook group too.I played quite a bit off the pink paper for my embellishments.
I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for my layout:
One of the designers: Lori gave inspiration with her layout when she tucked all the papers in under the photos and I went that way too with my layout.
 Journaling
Fun cluster and a kraft project life card too
 Another fun cluster too.
I also used the challenge over at Whimsical Musings Inspired by Petals as I was inspired by those beautiful blossoms

Counterfeiting a May Kit

Hello, oh my I can't believe I never blogged about my kit this month, bad me! I did post it on instagram so that may have threw me off a bit this month and then LOAD really throws me off for the month :) So Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog's inspirational kit this month is the Gossamer Blue March main kit.

Just love the blues and greens in the kit :) reminds me so much of Nature that it helped me create the name for my kit:

Nature's Party

Here is my kit for this month :) So far lots of the papers have been used not so much for the embellishment part of the kit, but I have used some :)
My papers came from a few paper pads :) I've been trying to work through some old paper pads gettign them used up. The 180 page stacks take the longest to use up and the paper is so thin that it's better for layering. so lately I have trying to combine both, the heavier paper for the backgrounds and the lighter paper for the layering.
My alphas :) Anyone have a good place to go to put letters in to get words that can be used? I've got alot of left over thickers I would love to get out of my stash!
 My stickers
 and more stickers

some wood veener and a 6X6 paper pad hmmph! forgot about that paper pad, wonder where I put that on my desk!
Well a little late but there is my kit for the month as usually it's a bit larger than the kit inspiration and I have been creating with it quite nicely, now I'm getting down to more scraps than anything else :) Think I should make a month of just using scraps :) other than the foundation pages that maybe fun

Sweet & Salty

Good Morning and another layout coming at you from LOAD517 Day1:
One of my all time favorite snacks :) My mother started this for me when I was a child. She would do it and then I would do and now it's a favorite. I used the Recollections The Neapolitan collection for my layout and those fun Alphas from my last month's counterfeit kit: Social Butterfly.

The Prompt:
A Trip to the Moon – 1902
Use a product on your layout that creates a special effect.

I used the texture paste and the mist for the special effect:
It was fun and I really need to play a bit more often :)
For my layout inspiration I went directly to Let's Get Sketchy to see what their newest sketch was:
I left the opening for the photos and the side borders when I created the texture for the bottom mat on the layout. I did flip the photo mat to work with my photos:
Other close ups of the layout:
 My journaling
close up of those pennants and that fun metal ice cream cone charm
My title cluster.
Thanks for stopping by once again to see what I'm up to in my corner of the world.

In A Blink

Another layout from LOAD517 Day 10
Prompt:
High Noon – 1952
Time. Use time as a theme for today’s layout by using clocks or time stamps, tell a story of how time has changed you, or a now an then page.
I went with a Now and Then layout as I seen this cute picture of Britney on facebook when she was just born and used that with a current photo from April for here birthday. Used some paper that had clocks on it to pay homage to the prompt about time:
OMgosh she grew up way to fast! Our little Britney is now a spunky young lady. I used a piece of my kraft paper for this layout too from the 100 pattern paper facebook group challenge last month. I added the other 2 papers from my stash for the use of the clocks and I found this chipboard that had a clock face on it too and added that to the layout. Added a Project Life card to finish off the layout. I used some black embellishments from my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for the clusters.
I used the early layout over at the Memory Nest for my layout inspiration:

I was inspired by how the DT Jane Taylor did her layout and did mine in a similar concept this was a very interesting sketch to play with.
Close ups of the layout:
 current picture and journaling
 Britney's baby picture
and a picture of Britney when they had visited us for the 1st time in a long time when they moved back to the east coast of the states to NY where we go quite often to see the kids :). this is the 2nd post of the day for using The Memory Nest's sketches for May.

Traditions

Good Morning and welcome :) I've play along with a few sketch challenges this month and I better get them posted :)
This layout comes from LOAD517 Day19:
Prompt:
Star Wars IV: A New Hope – 1977
One of the recurring themes in the Star Wars saga is the relationship between fathers and their children. Some fathers in the film are real, like Anakin Skywalker, while others serve as surrogates, like Qui-gon Jinn, Yoda, or Obi-wan Kenobi. Tell a story about a father figure in your life and how he has influenced your life.
This has been a tradition since we started the Campbell Easter Egg Hunt to get a full picture of the grandkids with us. It's great to see how much they have grown through the years too. So glad Dave came up with this idea for having the grandkids over for some fun in the spring. I used my current counterfeit kit Nature's Party and some from last month's kit Social Butterfly.
I used the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy to help me create this layout:
A cool 1 photo sketch :) Sometimes you just need to scrap those special pictures.
Some close ups of the layout:
 Journaling spot
 Fun cluster areas
The grand kids love coming each year and look forward to this event at the house we have found out :) We have been trying to have more family get togethers throughout the year, but by far this is our favorite. Thanks for stopping by and be on the look out for another layout.
