July 4th 2014 page 2

Yep got er done just a bit ago, page 2 of the The Cold July 4th 2014. I used My Scraps & More Sketches for this layout too:

I used sketch #86  for this one:

The papers are some of the same from the 1st side (which is now the left side of a 2 pg spread) and I brought in another piece from the kit. I mimicked the white cardstock for this page too for the background. Another nice shot of one of the fireworks. I was struggling with getting the shot timing with the firework going off, not use to Dave's camera but took a lot of shots so nice digital if they are black you just delete them :)

 The summer time paper is new addition for this page from this month's kit and a nice addition to the layout. Another picture of our flag in it's full glory :) The bottom picture was a picture of Jarod and his parents around the bonfire, it was definitely cool that night and sitting out in it all day made the old bones cold too. I found the 2 blue pieces in with the leftovers of the July 4th kit I have and used on for the pennants

 Added a couple of die cuts from the July 4th kit too. Scatter about the layout

Added the Stars & Stripes die cut for the title of this page, even though it didn't need a title it was a nice addition and that I popped up with foam adhesive.
Thanks you all for stopping by as many times today that you did, I really tried to kill my counterfeit kit this month but just counted and I still have 15 whole 12X12 pages yet and I know I won't get that much scrappin finished up tomorrow night. So on the shelf it will go with last month's kit. Small kit next month since we'll be out about making memories most weekends at 2 tractor shows and maybe a card game at Rooties house. You all have a fantastic rest of the day :)

A Cold July 4th 2014

Hello, I'm back again with another layout this is how we spent July 4th 2014, we spent the evening with Dave's sister Rootie her DH Dick and here family. It was nice to spend time with family and they actually put on a fun show. The other memory of the day is how unusually seasonbly cold it was out. We all cuddled up to the bonfire, with zipped hoodies and blankets, but warm at heart with family

this one is based on the sketch challenge over at My Scraps & More Sketches #87
 
 This was a fun one to do and went togther pretty fast. I used my current counterfeit kit for the papers and I pulled out my 4th of July specified items and used the die cuts from that sheet. I also pull a sticker from my winter drawer.

 I used the die cut of the date added the year with alphas and the COLD sticker. The picture is Dave, my hubby and my BIL Dick. Looks like were dressed to watch a local football game in October :)

 This is Rootie's youngest grandson Conner, he's such a cutie :) loves being on grandpap's lap. Added the star and liberty from the die-cut sheet. I used the extra spot in both corners for a couple more photos. This was one of the best shots of the fireworks.

 The flag shot, of course you can't have 4th of July with out a flag so I took a picture of or flag hanging off the porch of the house. Rootie and her son Sam in conversation with other members of the family

 The top corner is Jarod (Lora's husband, Rootie's SIL) and Sam having fun strumming. I was surprised how warn Sam was versus the rest of us. It was a nice family night :)
I have a few more pictures to this event and will probably do a 2nd page yet.

Poultry Exhibit

Good Morning! Another fine day in PA, bit cool yesterday not quite July weather to me, but I'm okay with it :) This is the layout I worked on yesterday still in the Fair theme at the moment :)

Sorry for the coloring the red just wasn't picking up with camera for some odd reason. I used the sketch #199 from Lasting Memories, so glad I printed out a few pics in 2X2 it worked out really well for the sketch:

 This was at the Bloomsburg Fair, the Poultry Exhibit. I got a fun picture of Dave outside the building with the Rooster statue. This one bird is so cool! took the picture and then he did the freak out thing and took a really quick snap of that so AWESOME!

The papers are from my current counterfeit kits and I pulled red cardstock out of my stash to back the smaller pictures in the border. The strip of tickets is from the Summer Travel kit I made too this month.

 These are 3 pictures I took of the exhibit, added the cutout from CTMH Jubilee scrapbooking kit (in my CKC for the month), I used various cuts from this paper throughout the layout.

 Added 3 Jubilee flairs to the ring and 2 different alphas for part of the title

 Added the chipboard piece and threaded it with CTMH ribbon that I had in my summer kit

Overall it was a fun experience, we do enjoy the exhibits and the Best of Show for me that day was that AWESOME bird :)

Barton House

Hi you all and welcome to my 2nd post of the day. While I was sorting photos that I had gotten developed over the last 2 weeks, I come across these and wanted to get them scraped since I just did the Jeff Dunham one and that was the same fair. I did some research on the Barton House for my journaling, by what I read the Barton House was the origin of the Bloomsburg Fair, Caleb Barton leased 12 Acres to the Bloomsburg Fair and those grounds are incorporated into today's fairgrounds.

 I used a sketch over at Sketch N Scrap sketch #60 for the layout:

When we go to the fair we love to see the exhibits and somehow we have passed this one by, but not this time:

 I was able to add 8 photos to the layout the sketch made a nice backdrop to it making it look like pages out of an old scrapbook. The colors came by the way of an inspirational challenge on a Yahoo group I'm in.

 The fashions back then were absolutely gorgeous, I included a word sticker in the place of the title and the large Rhinestones in place of the stars. All the papers are from my current counterfeit kit

 The flower cameo was a nice touch and so glad to have it in my current counterfeit kit. I can't imagine washing clothes in that washer :) My husband still hangs herbs that way to dry so some methods do hang around for quite some time

  The computer generated jouranling I got off the interenet, lots of good information about the house and the owner here is just a bit:
The Barton House was the original house on the property, through research on the internet I came to find out that the owner, leased 12 Acres to the fair and now those are incorporated into today's fairgrounds. The farm house built by the owner is the last remaining farm house to sit on any state fairgrounds. This story reminds me of my own family and my Dad's Mother side of the family donated or sold (not totally sure about that part of the story) grounds to the now Clinton County fair. It was nice to tour the place, the fashion and the way things were done back then, we have really been blessed with the modern technologies we have today :)

Capture The Moment

Hello, how are you all today ? Stuck On U Sketches had a fun sketch on July 18 and I had these few pictures that I wanted to scrap and thought this sketch would be a fun way to do the layout:

This was a special moment with my husband and our grandson Zachary last summer, Dave was explaining the sunflowers to Zach and I was lucky enough to catch the moment. The sketch:

The top section of the layout:

 I used Dazzles: Cross Stitch stickers in silver (this was for a challenge on a yahoo group I'm on to use silver) Also used silver pennants from a punch. The title comes from a cut up card from basic gray: Mint Julep pad and the Coolville for the basic gray: Hipster pad

 So I used the picture of all the sunflowers and my husband in the back and then the 2 pics with Zachary.

 The Hello today is from CTMH Reel Life Everyday Life stamp set stamped in Memento London Fog. The sunflowers last year were in abundance and so pretty. It was a joy to see the gold finches eating the seeds.

 I added a few pieces from a kit that I'm working on to get rid of it's bits and pieces for the kit. I also added SU candy dots (like enamel dots) throughout the layout

 I punched out the circle piece and put my journaling on

 One thing I like about the counterfeit kit challenge and the kit I made I got a good mix of colors to use for the layout

Jake

Hi you all, 2nd post today, lots of challenges I'm trying to get in before the end of the month. This layout is specifically about Jake our older blue heeler. I used a sketch from Stuck?! their July 1st sketch challenge and this is also for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog's 1st challenge to use triangles.
I came across these 2 pictures of Jake while trying to decide what I wanted to do with the challenge:

Jake entered into our life when he was 7 months old:

 The upper right corner has the very first picture that we took of Jake we got him Feb 13, 2002. I used my current counterfeit kit for the background paper and the scattered papers used for triangles. Also the chipboard that I included in the kit that I found going through a box. The rub-on splotches are from an old kit and I can actually say it's out of my stashed used it up here for 3 spots and the wrapper is in the trash. The dog pieces came from my dog specific drawer. (Pebbles tag with ribbon, MM mini metal circle tab and a sticker with label made from my brother labeler)

 The 2nd picture in the lower left side of the sketch is Jake some time after the surgery, his hair hasn't fully come in yet and you can see the stitches. Oh Jack did not like the cone collar (the collar that they give them to keep them from licking the area) So when we were home we would take it off as much as we possible could and still keep and eye in him.

The Journal spot is from We R Memory Keeper 4X6 pad: Friends Furever cut in half tells of when we got Jake and of the accident, providing the dates. This triangle sketch was perfect for out tripod dog :) Jake now:

at 12 years old, he's not as active as he used to be but he still gets along fine, just takes him a bit longer.

I Honestly Love Every Second

Hello how are you this fine day :) This layout I figured out actually works for the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy :) So I will be linking it up to the challenge so here is my take on it:

here is the sketch:
I used the Recollections The Neapolitian Collection for my entire layout other than the Gold Lame Smooch:

 This layout is about the night at the Bloomsburg Fair seeing Jeff Dunham, this was on our bucket list we've tried for 3 years prior to this one and something has come up and for him also something happen that it didn't happen. So we thought this would be a great birthday gift to each other, so the 3rd time was the charm :)

 Lots of various elements scattered about the page, cut outs and stickers and layers.

 Some of the pictures I got off the internet, we were to far away to get pictures like this so it was nice to find them.

 I fussy cut the Jar for (Jar of Fun) and used that for my journaling. We had a fantastic time and lucked out to sit with another couple that enjoyed seeing Jeff as much as we did. Even with an incident in the crowd Jeff was easily to come off the cuff with out sounding crude and that was fun, he's very good of the impromptu if needed.

I'm also linking this layout to Lasting Memories challenge: My Country Tis of Thee :) "Do a layout of something you like to visit in your country!" We do like to visit the local fairs, to see the exhibits as well as the shows, Then there are times you get to see the big show like this one, I had seen Joan Jett and the Blackhearts here at Bloomsburg Fair years and years ago, so it's a place I do like to visit.
