Happy Retirement card for a Sketch N Scrap challenge

Hello and welcome :) It's the weekend and locally yardsale season has begun :) I plan to get out abit and look for a few things for the apartment.

Welcome to the 2nd card sketch of April over at Sketch N Scrap challenge blog. A fantastic sketch from Lori

I decided to create a retirement card for a friend of mine that is lucky enough to retire. I've got a few years before I can, so looking forward to it though. This is the card I created:

With the move last year I'm now getting to the boxes of things that I don't use often or need. I found this old dazzles kit and the papers and stickers were perfect for the card. I had fun creating this card from that sketch. Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Love This LO for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) 2nd challenge of the month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog Tara says:  I'd like to challenge you to use ABSOLUTELY NO PINK on your layouts! I know-the collection has lots of pink in it.  However, it also has blue, green, and kraft! Create a layout without using pink.

No problem!  Love this challenge as for me no pink means nature photos usually with all the green. So I focused on the greens in my kit

Chose a page maps sketch for my layout design. I had fun creating this layout with 5 photos too. The ribbon in the tag came from last month's kit that roll is still sitting on my desk.

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I hope you join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for this fun challenge.

This was a fun layout to play with and came together very quickly
Getting through the waterfalls at Ricketts Glen State Park is going smoothly with just a few left to do with fun sketches like this. I have a very nature/neutral kit I've been using to capture these pictures.

CKC - April 2024 Kit Reveal - Spirit of Spring

Welcome to my blog and the 1st of April that means it's a new inspiration for us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge kits to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Julene's Blog I'm looking forward to checking out her kit and see what inspired her. We are thrilled to have Nikki Ihus join us as Guest Forger, she is a YouTuber you can find her at Nikki's Scrapbooking Adventures

Tara is our host this month and she says:

For this month's inspiration kit, I chose a digital kit from Traci Reed's Designs!  I chose this kit because it's a little different than what we've been doing.  I also see a few items that we can counterfeit for Forgeries on the Fourth!  This will a fun kit to recreate!

Let's take a look at the main kit!  Look at all that wood veneer!

Here's a photo of the papers individually so you can get a better view of those.  Paper is always the basis of my kits and where I typically start!

Love the colors of this kit the navy blue, corals and kelly green is a great nod to Spring green and blues skies. Here is my kit for April:

Spirit of Spring

Here are the papers I chose using some from Simple Stores, Cocoa Vanilla, PinkFresh Studio and some from some paper pads too.
The wood I chose:
Close up #1 has the embellishments that I pulled from Simple Stories
Close up #2 some PinkFresh Studios and the 3 colors of mists I want to use with this kit
Close up #3 some diecuts, chipboard and buttons
Close up #4 Lots of embellishments from PinkFresh Studios Simple the Best
Good well rounded kit for my April scrapbooking. That's it, that's my kit for March I hope to get further along with it then I did my February kit ;) Thanks for stopping by today to my little corner of the world. Off you go to Jojo's Instagram if you get lost along the way the blog list is below. We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your kit this month at the CKC communly facebook group

CKC - March 2024 Kit Reveal - Chase Your Dreams

Welcome to my blog and the 1st of March that means it's a new inspiration for us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge kits to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Ryann's Instagram I'm looking forward to checking out her kit and see what inspired her. We are thrilled to have Jessica Haab join us as Guest Forger, she posts regularly on our community page so check that out too. Make sure you leave her some love!!!
Julene is our host this month and she says:

The kit I have chosen for March is   Citrus Twist Kits "Parasol"

  PARASOL 12 x 12 Kit – Citrus Twist Kits

It has a Spring vibe which should appeal, plus many different ideas for kit forgeries. There's a floral theme underlying the papers and cut aparts. Maggie Holmes papers appear. It is a pretty kit.

The kit definitely has a Spring vibe to it, I went with oranges instead of the lemons in the kit.

Here is my kit for March:

Chase Your Dreams

I love the inspirational kit, love the blues and yellows together in this kit and what I thought I was going to use before I left for vacation has since changed when I got back as this kit will work out well with any photos of the trip I scrap and still coordinate with the chosen papers from the album we were putting together on the ship. Yep, I took my very 1st Scrapbooking Cruise and have to say it was an AWESOME experience to enjoy my hobby while I'm on vacation too.

Papers:

I chose a variety from my drawers of loose papers, Pinkfresh Studio Flower Market that had the Spring vibe going as well as some from Vicki Boutin's Printshop collection and some Prima Nature Lover collection to bring in the birds in the inspirational kit

Close ups:

I had no pompom ribbon so brought in some other ribbons, twine and fiber
Hit the Flower Market for most of my embellishments for my kit
made sure to bring in some wood buttons too and maybe get some of the packs onto pages, set of stamps that I thought might be fun to use too
I grabbed a Blue alpha from the Flower Market collection and the white words and the BoBunny candy dots from a Not Just for Boys kit, the stamps came from the kit too. The PL cards I keep handy in a tray so I always have them available to me and my mixed media I will use when it's needed. That's it, that's my kit for March I hope to get further along with it then I did my February kit ;) Thanks for stopping by today to my little corner of the world. Sit & Stay Awhile LO for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) to the 1st challenge of the month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Brandi is our host this month and the 1st challenge is Make it Messy!

Break out those mixed media goodies & make it messy by using at least two different mediums on your project!
I did just that. My Caribbean Blue kit had the Distress spray I used for splatters and with that stencil I had in the kit I used Lunar paste for my second mix media. I added the twine and the wood buttons from the kit for added dimension on the layout. I definitely had fun creating this layout
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I hope you join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for this fun challenge.

CKC - February 2024 Kit Reveal - Carribean Blue

Welcome to my blog and the 1st of February that means it's a new inspiration for us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge kits to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Christine's youtube channel I'm looking forward to checking out her kit and see what inspired her. We are thrilled to have Jessica Mikels join us as Guest Forger. You can follow her on her blog, Instagram and YouTube!. Make sure you leave her some love!!!
Brandie Jo is our host and she says:

And now the moment we’ve all been waiting for… our latest inspiration kit! I chose “November Rain” by Not Just for Boys Kit Club! I absolutely love everything Meridy and Paula put together monthly, so I knew that’s exactly where I was headed this month. Here is a photo of the main kit:

They also offer an add-on essentials kits, which is typically mixed media product and additional embellishments! You can also buy extra paper add-ons & more items ala carte on their site. Lots of inspiration to be had for building a stash kit as well!

I have to agree with Brandi Jo and love the kits the Meridy and Paula put together over at Not Just for Boys kit club :P So looking at the inspiration kit I'm seeing lots of Blue and just love that! Woodgrain, Plaid, Brick and what looks like Rust I was very drawn to buildng my own kit. You see that I brought in some papers from some previous Not Just for Boys kits to round out my kit.

Here is my kit for February:

Carribean Blue

 Here are the papers:

I loved the papers in the inspiration kit and wanted to mimic them as much as I possibly could. The Alphas:

I also brought in the cutfile from the kit that I added to my own papers. Definitely has that same Fall feel to it.
Close up 1 has the chipboard stickers, die cuts in the way to tags and frames and that cool stencil too.
Close up 2 has the chosen sprays in blue, also blue leaves, blue twine and wood buttons. There is another twine in there as well as some acrylic pieces too.
Close up 3 has sequins, wood veener, stamps and more leaves. I'm glad I have a few Fall photos yet that need scrap and I think this kit will be perfect for any other pictures I want to scrap too. Thanks for stopping by today to my little corner of the world.
