Look Here

Good Morning to you :) Can you believe this is the last day of August! Wow the summer season is just about over, while walking with the dog this morning I seen fallen leaves! and orange pumpkins in the garden! It's coming way to fast this year, I'm not anxious for fall.... I love the sun and all the fresh veggies in the garden. So I guess I better deal with it :) Atleast I have summer pictures to scrap for a bit in the fall.
Today's layout is one of the goodies of summer, the 1st corn of the season and was it delicious!
I used my current counterfeit kit Easy Livin' for this layout, I was drawn to the blue on the plate and that made me think of a blue prompt over at Whimsical Musings, Challenge #204 – Tiffany Blue be inspired by Tiffany Blue.
So I took the left over blue in my kit and also used some blue stamping for the title and the embellishments for this layout. I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for the layout: sketch #69

It was a fun sketch to work with, I have one more to do this week yet for the summer challenge Leslie is having over at The Memory Nest.
So the beginning of this layout came from The 20 Project:  Day 17: Whittle down that giant stack of photos
So I took the printed photos I just got from snapfish
 This stack of 99 prints
and I separated them into piles for scrapbook layouts. It was fun to tackle this like this right from the start. Now I have plans for about 10 layouts maybe a few more depending on the large stack of reunion photos and how I handle those. After separating them we were to take one stack and create a layout :) Which I accomplished.
Shimelle's class, a few of the 1st few prompts is about stamps and I had these stamps in my CKC Just Chillin' last month and it's been sitting on my desk so I knew I was using those and a set of letter stamps I received in a swap a long time ago that never saw ink :) So it was fun to do some stamping and adding it to my layout.
My journaling I chose a silver pen, now thinking it may have been a bad choice, so may rewrite the journaling on the back of the layout. It says: 1st corn of the summer season we were just talking about it yesterday at the family reunion, Dan had asked about it. I thought it wasn't quite ready, but to my surprise, I guess it was. A great meal that night.
More close up of the stamping. So glad to have this in the Album for 2016. Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Tomorrow is a new day, a new month and new inspiration from Counterfeit Kit Challenge :) Still have some of this month's kit to play with yet to finish out the week :) The weekend I'll be able to gather up the new kit :)

Say Hello to Summer

Good Morning :) Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We were busy ding stewed tomatoes and getting them canned up, still got salsa to make yet today :) Yesterday was the finally of the Little League series and it was great to see The Endwell, New York team took the series and it was great to see it End this Well is was a deserved win that had not lost a game leading into the series and won it straight through with no losses. We always enjoy watching the game at home will canning up some kind of tomato product. To me it seems when the series ends so does summer and this coming weekend is Labor Day, I'm ready for some cooler temperatures but no snow please for me :)
This is the 1st layout I did for LOADmini Day 1: Summer equals Water. I had one thought in mind for this layout but knew I didn't have all the pictures I wanted to use yet (and still don't! Need to prepare another print order I guess) But I did have these of our grandkids, these are Albert's 4 kids (Astacia is not with them that day).
I used my July counterfeit kit for this layout Just Chillin' and used quite a bit from the I (heart) Summer collection from Simple Stories
A close up of the pictures of the kids. We live along the river both us in South Williamsport and the kids in Williamsport, so the River Walk is a good thing they added along thee river. One section of it leads you to this area and isn't that what the beginning of summer is about :) Enjoying the warm days and getting your feet wet. I like the border of word stickers I used along the side of the pictures.
Bullet journaling was great use for this layout and challenge I did for our SNC group
The top cluster with more stickers and the rhinestones and some fun word phrases with the date. I used and old Cocoa Daisy sketch from May 1, 2012 for my layout. This is also for the challenge over at Whimsical Musings Challenge #95 - Inspired by a summer colour scheme
This collection really shows off that color scheme very well :) As summer comes to an end and so will the garden and I have more time to scrap, plans to really get into catching up with the prompts over at Whimsical Musings
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Lots of Summer photos that need to be scrapped yet.......

A Day in May

Good Morning and welcome :) Today we have a new week of challenge over at Lasting Memories and this is the last week for the August challenges too. The challenge is Summer Days - Use colors of photo for inspiration. "Day Colors"

So pretty, I love to look at flowers and that is what my layout is A Day In May:
The vellum background is perfect compliment to the photo and the flowers. Lovely tulips and dogwoods are the focus of the layout
I had fun with the title using 2 different fonts and lots of sequins and paper flowers
A layout created for Nicole Jones Demystifying Clustering class and this was also made in March for Calvinball :) Hence the song lyrics was for that. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see your creation over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenges.

South Side..A bit of history about the town I live in

Hi you all :) It's been one of those days that you just want to relax and not do anything for me :) Long night at work may have had something to do with it. So got to sleep in a bit and now ready to start my weekend :)
Today is Just Because Day. Finally, you have a chance to do something without a rhyme or reason. Most often in life, we do things because we have to, or we want to, or it's expected of us. None of those reasons apply today.

Is there something you'd like to do, but there isn't a reason or logic for doing it? Well, today is the day to go out and do something "just because". It is most enjoyable if it is an uncommon, or unexpected activity or action. Perhaps, you have something in mind. If not, just go with the first thing that comes to your mind.  "Just because" activities often come from a "whim" or a "what if I" type of thought. We know you will quickly get the hang of this day, and have a lot of fun with it. This may explain today for me :)
Where do YOU come from??? That is the challenge over at Whimsical Musings this week: WM#226
be inspired by where you come from:

This is a layout I did for LOAD1015 Day8: X marks the spot: Story: Tell about where you live
Product/technique: Use a sewed/dotted line to direct us around your page
Image: An iconic photo of somewhere you have been
this layout is perfect for that challenge :) For the prompt that day I did a layout about the town I live in right now, for 24 years I have lived in South Side (23 years of that time was with my husband :)
The X on the map shows where we live.
Image: An iconic photo of somewhere you have been: This is a postcard I got and it is also some place I've been in my life many times. As a kid Mom took us over each day during the games to watch the action.
As the games are taking place this weekend with the final game tomorrow, this is a good day to be doing the post on this layout. This is the time when South Williamsport is the busiest, during the series. This is something that makes our little town unique too.
Journaling about the city I live in. Thank you for stopping by today and would love to see Where do YOU come from???

Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Show

Good Morning :) I did a layout about our local Antique Tractor Show. This was created from the Summer Lovin' LOADmini Day 5 prompt: Lovin' the Great Outdoors
Our way of Lovin' the Great Outdoors in the summer time :) This year we haven't went to as many shows as we have in previous years, but we always get to atleast one each year so far this is one that I was able to attend since it was our local Tractor Show:
These are just a few of the pictures I took that day :) I have just gotten in more pictures to be scrapped yet. I fun over view of the show that I took in a bit. I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges for my layout:
ss1607
The August challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is to use a souvenir from a place or event on your page - maybe a theater ticket? A subway pass? A map? A pamphlet from somewhere you visited or want to visit? The side border piece is the wrist band I had on at the show and thought it worked out well for the layout as well as parts of the flyer for the day and for the title block.
My journaling went into a speech bubble that I cut from a PL card :)
The title block has all the info on about the show, dates, location and feature and nice addition :) I scattered star sequins in the red and gold these are the colors of the tractors :) I used a piece of paper from that 8X8 October Afternoon paper pad in my current counterfeit kit Easy Livin'.
Also to get more ideas for ways to use a sketch, I've been watching Tina Gale's Focus on Sketches series n youtube and have been getting lots of fun tips on changing up a sketch :)
Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a fantastic day and a fantastic weekend :) We have Little League World Series in hi gear around my house this weekend with the final games so plans to do a little salsa making and canning and some stewed tomatoes too something that is both a bit lite in the basement at the moment.

It's the August Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to August Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following the very inspiring Margie and if you are coming from her blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. Your project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I went Outside my Stash for this layout to include a postcard I purchased and the brochure to add to my Double Page layout:
This was from a day trip in May for our Anniversary, we have been going by the sign for this place many, many times. Well my husband surprised me and on a whim we stopped to check it out. I used this sketch over at Let's Scrap sketches:

This is my go to blog for when I want to do double sketches, when I have lots of photos. This one was fun to do and it had that interactive part of the layout that I could add more photos.
I thought that from the Kraft Kuts collection that the scallop circle would be the better addition for those side pieces on the sketch. This side it held my title for the layout. Added some of those rubons that were in my kit and I also used up the travel stickers from the one pack I had in the kit.
The postcard that I purchased, I do like to get these for layouts it just seems to be a better picture and I love the angle of this one.
The right side of the layout holds 6 photos (2 are hidden) and the brochure. I attached with the intent that it can be opened.
Lots of information about the Flour Mill in the brochure.
When you open up the scallop circle on the right hand side you get these 2 extra pictures and some extra journaling.
More journaling about the day. This layout was also created on the last day of the Summer Lovin LOADmini Day 7: Summer is a Time For Adventure: We haven't taken many road trips this summer, but we did get this day trip in. Really enjoying scrapping with this month's counterfeit kit  Easy Livin' and I still have a week to play with it :)
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Salla has created she does so many different creative things :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.

Farm Fresh

Hi you all I wanted to try to post something on my blog each day this week and with just getting done with the Summer Lovin LOADmini I have a few layouts to blog about. This layout was created from Day 4: Lovin the Sweet Smell of Summer. Around our house there are lots of summer smells since we do a garden each year. From that we have fresh veggies and fruit, lovely side dishes for suppers and also we can or freeze so we can enjoy it all in the winter time too.
Aspargus, corn on the cob, canned relish and strawberries are just some of our summer smells and treats. I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges for my layout: SS 16′ Sketch 10
 SBC_SS16_10
I turned the sketch to work for me. I also used smaller portrait photos for the landscape photos in the sketch. I used cutapart words for the diagonal that they had going on with the sketch.
 Journaling
I shifted the title block down with this cutapart card, just seemed like something was missing and this worked.
I had fun with the brads that I have in my current counterfeit kit along with thee words that were on one of the sheets from the October Afternoon 8X8 paper pad. A fun layout to create and just a peek at the early summer things we do.

Just Enjoying the Day a Stick It Down challenge

Good Morning :) Today is the posting from the Double Page team over at Stick It Down. Here is what I created with the sketch:
I had fun creating this layout from the sketch and I used a few leftover scraps from my July counterfeit kit challenge kit Just Chillin' the pinks and light blue from last month kit worked out great with all those bold bright colors. Here is the sketch we were using:
I used alot of cut aparts and alot of stickers for my embellishing, some punch out shapes too.
The left side of the layout had 5 photos, a couple of cutaparts, punched out hearts and stickers used for borders and for clusters around the layout. This is pictures of the flower bed getting prepared for the flowers we just bought and planting the flowers.
The right side holds the title of the layout, another cutapart PL style card, stickers, punched out hearts and a journaling label. Picture of the finished flower bed and a picture of me relaxing on the back patio from all that fun work :) Just enjoying the day. This comes for the LOADmini Day 3 For the love of Relaxing
Relaxing by way of sowing in the flower bed :) just about as relaxing as scrappin :) and kicking back out on the back porch enjoying the day.
Thank you stoping by and I look forward to seeing your creation real soon over at Stick It Down, You have until the end of the month to link up your layout. We'll choose one winner from each sketch to return in October as our guest designers!

Summertime

Good Morning :) I love Summertime it's my next favorite season with Spring coming in 1st. I love the sights and smells of summer. Today I have a layout that is inspired by Summer Nights but it is about Summer Days. Lasting Memories new challenge this week is Summer Nights color photo for our inspiration, using the colors from the photo:
I added one extra color to my layout and that is a kraft color:
The layout is is about a walk I took yesterday with Buddy around our yard. This is Day 6 of LOAD SummerMini: Lovin the sights of Summer and this summer our sights have mainly been at home :) Nothing wrong with that :) lots to see in the yard.
I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges sketch #494:
 494
So I used my newest counterfeit kit Easy Livin' for my layout, the blues and pinks were perfect match for the inspirational photo :) I used some of I heart Summer collection stickers for the title and some embellishing of the layout.
The journaling was added to a card from the cutapart sheet in the kit. Had fun creating the scallop embellishment from the papers in the kit and using 2 handheld punches for it.
A close up of the photo collage I made. Very impressed with the Instagram photos that I took with my camera for the layout. Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see your creation linked up over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenges.

My August Counterfeit Scrapbook Kit

Good Evening :) I'm a bit late to the party this month, but I did pull a small counterfeit kit together for August's Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Our inspiration comes from Germany this time a European kit for our inspiration and selected the March 2016 kit from Papier Werkstatt which I thought hmmmmm lots of neutrals in this kit :)

Here is my kit: Easy Livin'
So I chose some neutrals and I also chose so color around the embellishment pack they had. I also grabbed a couple of mulberry papers (I don't know why I haven't used these yet) and a specialty gold paper both came from a swap box I got years ago and maybe some night this week I'll play with my manual diecutter a bit. I added a few of the scraps from last month's kit to this kit that seem to fit the color scheme and I also added lots of embellishments to the kit
I know we only have 11 days left to this month, but with doing Shimelle's The 20 Project class I'll have no problem using this kit papers up :) and one of her challenges was to build a kit around a mood board, I think I found my mood board very interesting this month :) Have a great rest of the weekend and maybe grab a few papers and make up your own little kit :)
