2021 Goals for Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2

A New Year and yes a new set of Goals for 2021. That was my focus for the end of December and beginning of January. So the 2nd challenge for 2021 from Counterfeit Kit Challenge from Lisa was an easy one, she challenged us:

A new year, a new month, a new start, a new kit! January is all about beginnings and therefore, I'd like to challenge you to record the start of something new - or a fresh start or a restart - on your page. Or maybe you could start a new technique for the first time on your page. Or try a new design, or a new-to-you colour combination. I'm sure you can find a starting point to inspire us all!

Every year I start off with a fresh batch of Scrappy Goals and I always include a New Year's Day selfie.

My current kit Good Vibes I made sure to include that large word art (a scrap paper) cause I knew I would use it for the layout. The inspirational kit included a stencil and a mist so I also used the stenciled I included with the mist in my layout. I used a couple of die cuts and lots of stickers I had in the kit :) The top right corner includes 3 pictures: The one of the 2013 Project Life album I want to finish, pieces from my Cleveland trip for my goal to continue scrapping vacations and that shelf of printed pictures that I need to sort in Chronological order ( a big project! but will be well worth doing!) I got a few ongoing goals I add each year to reinforce habits I want to make in my life.

Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Check out Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for what the other forgers created for this fun challenge

For the Record LO for Sketch N Scrap Challenge

Good Morning :) Wow can you believe it's already halfway through January! Feels like it just started :) I've been busy in my scrappy room with online classes and getting chances to create some fun layouts :) I'm looking to my 2021 goals before the month is over and checking my list to make sure I'm doing what I planned to do this year! Now that said let's move on to the challenge at hand.....

Welcome to the 2nd layout sketch challenge of the month over at Sketch N Scrap blog. Heather has provided this great sketch, oh my look at all those squares for layering!

Oh this was to fun to play with, here is what I created:

Using a paper from my current counterfeit kit: Good Vibes and some of that pine cone vellum paper too, raided my BASHket for all the frames at that background in the sketch screamed frames to me :) and stickers from the sticker sheet in my kit I was able to tell the story of this unique bird I saw this past Spring. For the Record is the title of the layout. I had a blast making it!

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world.
I look forward to seeing what you create from this fun sketch over at Sketch N Scrap.

Merry Christmas card for a Sketch N Scrap card sketch

Good morning and welcome to the 1st card sketch over at Sketch N Scrap challenge blog. I just loved this card sketch from Stacy and used it for the Christmas card for my son this past Christmas.

Definitely a different look than what you normally see in a Christmas style card.

A couple of pattern papers, a washi tape border and lots of snowflakes for a fun whimsical Christmas card. Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Christmas Eve 2017 - Stick It Down Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to my little corner of the world :) My 1st layout for Stick It Down challenge blog it's double page challenge for the New Year. As I had my Christmas papers out and my 2017 December Daily stuff out, thought this would be a good time to do a Christmas layout. Missing out on Christmas Eve with my siblings this past year because of covid this made me enjoy the memories of Christmas Eve. 1st here is the sketch for the double page layout team for January 2021:

This is what I created:

The sketch provided a fun way to display the photos of the evening.
Using a scrap of Christmas paper for the beginning of my title and some fun mix of alphas to bring in the colors from the other side of the layout, I used the chosen paper pad I had set aside for that year's December Daily (yes I'm behind on that!) for my paper choices besides using some of the gift wrap paper I received that night too from my gifts.

The grid on this side made for an awesome way to use some of the gift wrap I received from my gifts that night for this layout. using the gray scroll paper for the base and 3 different pieces of gift paper for the other 3 quadrants on the layout using a grid of photos certainly gives a cool look to the layout. Everyone was featured in the layout including my brother's 2 cats having fun with their gifts, my feature was the pile of gifts I received.

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun challenge over at Stick It Down challenge,

CKC - January 2021 Kit Reveal - Good Vibes

Good Morning and Happy New Year! So ready for the New Year :) We got alot done around the house this past year but I miss getting out with friends and out exploring our world :)

Are you ready for a year full of fun scrapping! Start with the 1st of the month and join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog for an interesting and fun way to pull a kit together. I notice through Facebook that making kits from your stash is becoming a rage this past year :) how about that we were trendy before it was trendy! This month our host is Master Forger Lisa. But before we see the kit she chose lets welcome this month's Guest Forger Tamara. You should have arrived here from the creative Tara's blog there will be a full list of the blog hop at the end of the email. Now what Lisa has to say about her chosen kit for inspiration:
I've gone for a kit club that Leslie brought my attention to and have decided to select the Christmas kit. I know that I often do that for January but I suspect that some of us would like to scrap some Christmas memories from the festive season that has just passed or at least still feel a little bit jolly.

Not Just For Boys kit club https://notjustforboyskitclub.com

I've picked out their "Flurries" Deluxe Theme Kit which is sold out but the photos and details are still available on the site.

It's a pretty cool winter kit, but not my cup of tea! So I went a little rogue with my kit:

Good Vibes

I was drawn to the outdoorsy stuff that was in the inspirational kit that is where my kit went off too.
The papers I chose 30 of them for my kit plus some scraps too. One of my goals this year is get my pile of scraps dwindled down so I plan to add a certain amount to my kits each month to use up and to use the scraps up that I make each month too. I was drawn to the outdoors when I seen the kit and I went that direction with lots of woodgrains, florals, snowflakes (a nod to the inspiration kit) and the vellum pine cones sheets. Loved the plaids so I added some of this to my kit too and some geometrics too. Lots of fun papers to play with.
I added diecuts to my kit and that green mist too
the brads and wood veneer I chose for my kit :) some hearts and stars plus would love to finish off the yellow brads (a nod to this year's pantone color the grey I have a paper in my kit for that color)
Lots of black alphas to get used up, need to start playing scrabble with some of these to get the letters used up! That's my kit and I expect quite a few layouts out of it to start of the year :) Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll join us and create your own version of this inspiration. Now off you go and see what Laura has curated on her instagram page

Now for the monthly blog list and the reveal enjoy hopping around and seeing what everyone has been inspired by the kit :)
