Happy Day

Hello :) I hope you all had a great weekend :) We attended the Campbell Family reunion despite the weather and rain it was a good day yesterday. The last day of July, wow where did it go! My July didn't go as I was expecting it to, no Christmas cards made at all! So I guess I'll be a bit busy next month trying to get going on them :) Maybe Christmas in August instead of July :)
Today is Lasting Memories new challenges for August and were taking on the new Adult Coloring trends! Have you seen these coloring books in the craft shops :) it's one way to grow up and be a kid again :) So the 1st challenge this month is Include all 7 colors of the rainbow or an actual rainbow on your layouts. I think I may have covered both in my layout:
These pictures were taken with my phone :) so they are not the best but it was so cool to see this rainbow that day when I went to the bank. I knew it was going to happen when I seen the sun shining and it was raining. So instead of looking at it as a bad day cause I had planned on going to the fair, I looked at it as a good day cause we were in such need for the rain :) So I went to the fair on Monday and found out it was free admission so it all worked out, life as we know it :) God moves in many ways to brighten our day.
This layout is going to cover a few challenges, 1st I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme for my layout:
Sketch #211:
This was a fun sketch to work with. I like the way the clusters were going up through the center of the layout and used the left over puffy butterfly stickers on my layout. The butterfly stickers cover a challenge over at Archi-scraps a challenge blog that I missed doing a layout for last month when I went to check today the new challenge was up so glad to see butterflies for the theme of the challenge :) I used Whimsical Musings Challenge #35 - Inspired by silver linings there is a silver lining about that day :)
A close up of the pictures with the rainbow. I had heard that the Flight 800 memorial in our area, was having it's memorial when the rainbow came out, wonderful to see God work in this way/
My journaling. I do appreciate what God gives us and we see it most in his creations :) I had fun creating this with part of my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' I was surprised I didn't have much left in the kit, another week and I just may have killed it :) So the new kit inspiration comes out tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing it :) Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation soon posted over at Lasting Memories.

Genuine Star Student

Hello once again today :) This layout I made today for The Memory Nest weekly sketch challenge.
This is the layout I created :) Pictures of Zachary while he was writing. Great to see him doing so well so early in life, he just started Kindergarten just a couple of months ago. They have to know so much now versus when we were in school. We are so proud of Zachary and all our grandkids to see them developing like this.
This is the sketch for this past week's challenge over at The Memory Nest:

Only with 2 pictures to use for the layout I moved the journaling up and used a journaling card for the middle picture.
I used my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' for my layout :) Adding in the school related embellishments with the circles I punched out. I was inspired to use some of the puffy stickers too so this goes with Whimsical Musings: Challenge #220 - puffy stickers
 My journaling
My title block. This was a fast one to put together with a great sketch and lots of scraps left from my counterfeit kit it took no time to put this together :) Probably the longest time was choosing the pictures to use.

A Floral inspired Birthday Card for the Use Your Stuff Challenge

Hi and Good Morning :) I hope you had a wonderful weekend, ours was a bit hot so I relaxed quite a bit in the house where it's a bit cooler :) Today over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog, our hostess Lori wants us to create using floral patterned papers on your project. I'm in need of a few Birthday cards so this one was a sweet one to create and I had a few floral patterns in my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' that I could use for this challenge, lots of scraps to work with:
I used the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap for my card: card sketch #77

I found some fun pieces on my craft desk to add to the card :) Those extra bits and pieces are great to have around so they get used up :) The flower and the floral gems came from my desk and so did the sunny floral piece that made it into the inside of my card:
I look forward to see your creation made from floral pattern prints linked up over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :)

A Love Layout for the July Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to June Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following this month's Guest Designer, she's does inspiring creative layouts too :) Gretchan's blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. You project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I went challenge #1 for this layout, I do enjoy a good read so was easily persuaded to try this challenge because of the reason. The The challenge was to take a cue from one of these book covers.

I choose love and miss c<3mmunication for my layout, I went with the love part of the title and being married as long as we have we have had our share of miss c<3mmunication this is a price about the book:
This unforgettable debut novel asks us to look up from our screens and out at the world . . . and to imagine what life would be like with no searches, no status updates, no texts, no Tweets, no pins, and no posts Yes, the way of life before the internet, I do remember that :)
So the book gave me the idea for the layout and the cloud and heart paper was a perfect background for the layout about some of the feelings I have for my husband :) For the layout itself I went to Let's Get Sketchy and used their week 2 sketch for my layout:

I shifted over the pennants so I could use the one for my journaling:) I also went to Whimsical Musings and used their Challenge #11 - Inspired by words "You have to kiss a lot of frogs in order to find your Prince."  the layout just falls right into that prompt and I've been looking at that one quite often debating on my approach to it till I came across this photo of Dave and the rest just feel into place very nicely :)
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Elaine has creative she does some amazing layouts too :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.
As for the internet, do I miss the days of not having it, yes and no :) seem back then that life was a little beit slower, not so multitasking. But, when I want a quick search to find something I do love that and to see the grandkids and the great grandkids anytime on facebook yep that I would not give up at all :)
Have fun and enjoy the hop.............

A birthday card for the hubby :) I used a sketch over at Sketch N Scrap for my card:
Here is a closer look at that digi stamp:
I colored it up with bic markers, glitter silver wink of stella brush and silver chrome viva pearl pen for the scattered studs look and for some detail work on a couple of the gears (really need to use these more, the Viva Pearl pen :)
The inside of the card. I used that aqua cardstock that was in my current counterfeit kit and matched up great with the Close to my Heart Chalk it Up paper kit for the card. Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see your creation linked up to Jo's Scrap Shack.

The New Grill for SID challenge

Hi you all :) Today is the reveal for the DT Double Page layout for Stick It Down and my layout consists of our new Grill/Smoker we got this past April. The hubby said he was going out to check on prices and a couple hours later there is a new grill/smoker on that back of his truck:
It was a festive event trying to get it off the truck :) The tractors are good for that kind of stuff too. So this was the perfect sketch for those pictures :)
Here is the sketch :) Very festive :)
The Left side of the layout:
Focuses on getting it off the truck
The Right side of the layout:
Dave with the new grill and it off the truck and set up on the back porch area, plus my journaling. I used my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' and grabbed a few papers from an old paper stack.
Close up photos of the pictures
and my journaling. With all the banners on this layout I was inspired to use this for Whimsical Musings Challenge #181 – banners
Now go and get your double page layout done and get linked up over at Stick It Down :)

Star Studded Experience

Hi once again :) I did this quick layout to get in on the challenge over at The Memory Nest. Our granddaughter Britney and her beau Russel went along with her brother Bradley and his girlfriend Cortney to Myrtle Beach. Britney and Russell took in the Hollywood Wax Museum and really got some awesome pictures. But this one was my favorite and deserved a page on it's on. a will make a companion page of some of the fun photos they took (so many to choose from :)
The sketch over at the Memory Nest was perfect for this fun star filled layout

Most of my layout came from my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' but I also used some scraps that were hanging around my craft desk :) Because of the stars I can use Whimsical Musings Challenge #192 – stars (scrapbook products) I used plenty throughout the layout.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Good Morning :) Today's challenge over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog Martha is our hostess and she want us to use Die Cuts and / or punches. I have this fun Christmas layout I created last year during LOAD Day 30 Someone Else’s Words: Make a holiday inspired layout today and include the lyrics to one of your favorite songs!
My die cuts are the tree and the Santa, thinking I cut them with my cameo. I think I had a blast decorating that tree :) Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree is one of my favorite Christmas songs and when I think of rockin around the tree I always think of Timmy the cat we had when I was a kid, he was always having fun and seemed to love to climb the artificial tree we had. These are some of my favorite Christmas pictures with Timmy.
 The die cut
The journaling included part of the lyrics
Close up of the pictures. A memory that is now recorded and documented :) I do scrapping for this reason the extra playing involved is a fun bonus
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see your creation linked up over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog

Awesome Day for a Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning to you :) Today is the new week's challenge over at Lasting Memories.
In keeping with our theme of childhood games... use the below photo for inspiration.
 Absolutely anything can be used!!

LMCB # 302
CandyLand

Again... anything for inspiration.

I went with the colors and something along the playing card blocks with a photo then a block
These are more photos during that day walking with Buddy. It was an Awesome Day. This is the companion page to the otherr layout using the left overs from the polka dot paper. The layout was created from my Counterfeit Kit: Just Chillin' I pulled the yellow from my scrap bin to enhance the layout and bring in the yellow from the flowers. Note: make sure there is enough matching papers for layered layouts in my kit :) I know one thing the smaller kit is working out this month and just may have it kicked by the end of the month :)
The sketch I used to inspire my layout came from Sketches in Thyme: Week 2
Sketch #208 by the amazingly talented, Brenshevia Baker....
Isn't this just a cool sketch :)
The purple hearts were punched out from the navy paper. The layout was created in mind of another challenge in another group to use negative die cuts which I used the circle and the scallop punches to create the blocks and added the blue/yellow background paper. All the embellishments and layers came from scraps on my table so I then can use Whimsical Musings Challenge #19 - Inspired by the scraps on your table
I had fun creating the blocks and will use this technique again.
My journaling.
I look forward to seeing what you create and link up at Lasting Memories.

Hello My Name is.... Project Life Style challenge

Good Morning on this hot and humid Friday :) Today is Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style challenge :) This is such a cool challenge cause you can do Project Life or you can do regular layouts too :) I chose to use the sketch for my journaling card for my layout:
and the sketch by by our awesome, Treasa Cimorose.....Sketch #35 reveal.....
Isn't this just a fun sketch and perfect for lots of different things on a PL spread :) I scattered stars about my card
and my layout:
My oldest son Carl being himself :) He does enjoy life and being the comedian in the family. He got his Dad's looks but my personality what a combination :) I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges for my layout :
489

I pulled alot of my papers from my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' for the layering for this layout and a few extra papers from my stash to get enough to work :)  Some close ups:
The everyday life is a PL card that I cut out with my cameo awhile back and came across it and added it to the layout
My journaling :) I really love how it came out as I had no idea what I was doing yesterday other than the card and the background paper, the rest just seem to go together as I was figuring out the layers and added some fun border edges too :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you play along with us :) There is a fun prize this month and you can link up right over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style
You have until July 31 to add your links. The prize this month is From the Notebook stamp set. This one is too cute!!!

Going Round & Round

Hi you a quick post so I can make this in time for the challenge.
This is our Grandson Tristan, spending some time at the preschool that he is attending, this was his 1st introducing day before his real starting day the following week. He seem to have found something to entertain himself. This page will have a companion page to go along with it later in the month :) with more pictures of the 1st day.
I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for my layout
I thought the photos would be good for this layout :) There is an interesting challenge going on over at The Memory Nest
I used part of my current counterfeit kit Just Chillin' for the layout, plus some extras I found in my stash. I'm also using this layout for Whimsical Musings Challenge #92 - Inspired by repeating (Take an element of your page design, subject matter, paper choices, colour selections - whatever you love, and repeat it. At least once. Bonus points if you do it more than once!) With the repetition of the circles throughout the layout.
Some close up shots of the layout:

Thanks for stopping by again :)
