WACC Graduate

Good Morning and welcome :) It's been a great LOAD month with lots of layouts created, but with that comes a quiet blog :) I'm not one to have time to create and to blog too :) So lots of challenges to blog over this weekend to get the entries into the right challenges. But today I'm the designer for LOAD517 Legends of Hollywood!
Day 27 from Scrap Happy

Day 27, Titanic 1997, genre: love story

Prompt: “I’m the king of the world”. Share your best day ever, or I’m at the top of my game moment.
I know, the "best day ever" can be a bit of a scrapbooking cliche, but let’s embrace the excitement and feeling of a fantastic moment or event for this layout. To get you in the spirit you may wish to watch this clip: king of the world

This has to be one of my best day ever!
I embraced one of the best days ever in my life, graduating college. Who can't feel fantastic at that moment in your life. The Polaroid pictures are: on the left my Mom and I and on the right Me. The lower picture was the one I received when I got my degree. This was a great achievement of my life with raising 3 of my 4 kids at the time and working seasonal jobs during my college life there were alot of sleepless nights and getting a nap here and there when I could. I added a metal crown in part of my one cluster paying homage to the prompt. the tassel included has gotten a bit dull and dusty with time, but still worth the hassle it took to get it :)
It took me a bit to embrace this prompt the day I saw it, wondering about my life and what I have achieved and boom there it was! I had to scrap this moment. One I've been putting of and avoiding for a long time for some odd reason but this prompt helped developed the story needed for this layout and that is one of the best things I feel you get out of LOAD those kinds of stories :)
Some close ups of the layout:
I used a project life card for a layering mat for the photo I received from the college. I used up quite abit of the metal pieces from 7 gypsies Charming Flea Market Findings pack.
Some of my journaling I had alot to say so went off the journaling spot and onto the layout background
 Rest of the journaling
Very proud to receive that tassel :) I added the metal crown to pay homage to the prompt :)
 Closer look of that cluster.
This layout was created last month with my Counterfeit Kit: social Butterfly plus I used items from my craft desk that was sitting there from challenge over at the 100 Pattern Paper Challenge facebook group.
Thanks for stopping by today :) I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend :) I plan too. There will be a few posts over the weekend if you want to come back and check them out.

We had a little twist for our challenge and that was to use 2 triangles :) Mine made a couple of Christmas Trees. I used 2 papers from my conterfeit kit Nature's Party and a couple of Christmas paper scraps. I used the current sketch over at Mojo Monday for my inspiration:

Defense! Layout for Sketch N Scrap Birthday Celebration

Good Morning and welcome to the Third Exclusive birthday bash sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. I hope you all have joined the party over at the event page.
This is the wonderful sketch were using:

No automatic alt text available.
and for it to fit my photos I had to rotate it:
and this is my layout:
Wow these action shots are so cool of Avery playing Defense. I've got a few more that I'm making this into a double page layout (later this week I'll be able to get ahead a bit and get the other side done). I have a few basketball themed embellishments that I pulled out for the layout and added some metallic sequin stars, he sure seemed the star that game
I used paper from my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party and this just maybe the LOAD517 layout for Day 15 (depending on if I can get another layout done :)
I had fun creating the title with the designer sticker from an old pack of Making Memories embellishment package.
I used some of them foam basketball cuts and a fun border strip from recollections I got in a prize pack a few years ago.
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation to this fun sketch over at the event page.

A Typical Day for a Sketches in Thyme PL style challenge

Hello :) You can find Sketch N Scrap's post for today here

Hi and welcome to my 2nd post of the day :) Welcome to a new sketch challenge over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style. I have lots and lots of project life cards and love that I can take one and a sketch and create something pretty cool. There is lots of inspiration over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style if you are one like me and not sure what to do with all those extra PL cards.
This is the card I created for my layout:
and Emma's sketch that we were to use:
The perfect sketch for a simple title block on a layout or on a Project Life spread. My layout using the card:
The theme of the layout came from yesterday's LOAD517
Dr. No – 1962
Scrap about your personal technology gadgets and how you use them in your daily life. Since James Bond was all about the gadgets break out one of your least-used scrappy gadgets to dazzle the gallery on today’s layout.
Easy enough prompt for a Sunday. a layout on some of the current gadgets we have around the house. Hmmmm wonder what they will look like in about 25 years :)
I used the current sketch over at Creative Scrappers for inspiration for my over all layout:
This sketch is perfect for Project Life Cards.
I was also able to get this layout inspired by the May Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge over at Scrap our Stash challenge using the row of Journal card, Clouds and Vellum
My jounaling card:

I used some puffy cloud stickers here on my title card
and I used vellum: a strip behind the far side pictures and also a strip here on the left side of the layout too. I used my old paper crimper for this layout for the tool of choice after I dusted it off. It made for a nice spot to add the fussy cut Day speech bubbles to the layout.
Definitely a fun layout to create. I used some of my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for the layout plus some from past kits too, thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style

Ava's 1st Easter for a Sketch N Scrap sketch challenge

Good Morning and welcome to today's sketch challenge over at Sketch N Scrap. We have a fun sketch from Heather Hall:
I created a fun Easter layout with this sketch:
Ava's 1st Easter layout for that, I had these photos out for awhile and realized this was the perfect sketch to make the layout. I bounced off he pictures for the circles pattern paper using both from this month's counterfeit kit: Garden Party and last month's kit: Social Butterfly
Journaling from Jessica's post and also a bit from me.
Fun title created with new alphas and some old alphas
Awww such a sweet photo of Ava :)
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation from this sketch over at Sketch N Scrap Challenge blog.

The Tree layout

If you are looking for the Lasting Memories post it is here.
Hi you all :) Got to get this in today to make it for the challenge over at Let's Scrap Sketches. The sketch for the 1st half of the month was perfect for a layout for LOAD517 Day 12:

Ben Hur – 1959
Everything about this film was big. The budget was the largest ever at this point, the set was the largest ever produced, the wardrobe designer oversaw 100 costume fabricators, a workshop employed 200 artists to create works of art for the film. Filming was 12-14 hours a day, 6 days a week for 7 months. More than 200 camels and 2,500 horses were used in the shooting of the film, with some 10,000 extras. It was the fastest-grossing as well as the highest-grossing film of 1959, in the process becoming the second-highest-grossing film in history at the time after Gone with the Wind. It won a record 11 Academy Awards, unequalled until Titanic in 1997.
Share a layout about something that became a much bigger project than expected. The famous chariot race takes place in a stadium that is curved at each end. Use curves or swirls in your layout today.
I thought about this a bit at work and then it dawned on me the photos I just printed of Dave cutting down the Tree in the front yard. A double page layout for all the photos from this big project that Dave took on.
The sketch over at Let's Scrap:
I love the separate squares on the bottom for the title and it made it big!
The left side of the layout:
and the right side of the layout:
I used some die cuts I found, washi tape, stickers and a few pieces of paper from my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party. Brads to attach the tags at the top. The swirls came in the form of the the 2 die cuts surrounding the journaling. total of 8 photos on the layout.
A big project for the 1st day of my husband's vacation. This is how he decided to spend his week's vacation doing things around the house.
The journaling. Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up too lately with LOAD517.

Always Smile

Good Morning and welcome :) OMgosh it's been a bit more quiet this month than I was expecting. LOAD has been in full swing and so many NSD event going on and the Birthday party over at Sketch N Scrap's Event page that my blog is a bit neglected, but that will change here after LOAD and I'll be back with regular postings.
Today is Lasting Memories new week challenge from out DT sisiter Lauren and she has challenge us to use strips of paper (or washi tape) in a big way! This is the time to use up those branding strips of paper or just plain scraps of paper for your layout. Now you need to check out what my DT sisters have done over at Lasting Memories cause there is lots of great inspiration over there :) My layout is a bit mild compared to what they have done:
I used a variety of strips of paper from using them for my photos borders (a washi tape in there too), to my journaling strips and topped off my title with another one. This is LOAD517 Day 11 Prompt is How do you put on a show for the world? What kind of physical/psychological armour do you put on? and you had to use bling.
My armour is my smile that will always hide my true emotions :) but most of the times the smile is very authentic :) To see my true feelings can be seen through my eyes, that I seem to not be able to hide from what my husband has told me and others. A look is all I have to give for a response to people. Lots more journaling needs to go with this layout and I will probably add it to the back of the layout.
I got a bit of help for my layout from the GrandDiva's Creative Corner challenge sketch
This was a fun challenge and a handy sketch :) I also used my current counterfeit kit (still need to post this!) and some pieces from last month's kit and I think maybe the month before :) I've got lots of paper on my crafting desk this month because of LOAD :)
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Lasting Memories :)

A Birthday Card for the Sketch N Scrap Birthday Party

Yep that's right the party is still going on this month over at Sketch N Scrap's Event Page! It's their 5th Birthday and it's fitting to have a Birthday Card ready! Here is the exclusive sketch:
This one is a keeper I can see this being used often for so many holidays. This is the card I created with it:
I had fun playing with some washi tape for this card and love that I found this cupcake in my diecuts. A Birthday card for someone special :) But then they are all special.
Here is the inside of the card, trying to use up some stickers I got years ago :)
Now it's your turn to play along, the party is for the whole month over at the event page.

Sausage Day for a Stick It Down Double Page Layout challenge

Hello again :) if you are looking for the Use Your Stuff post you can find it here.
Some how this post was in draft mode :)

Good Morning and welcome to the Double Page sketch challenge over at Stick It Down. My layout is of a fun day helping Dave making Homemade Sausage. We do this quite often but this particular day I made sure to get pictures of what was happening.
and the fun sketch:
I added a few more pictures than what the sketch had called for and that is what sketches are a starting point to get you going on your layout :)
The right side of the layout. The fun borders I created by cutting a piece of white paper the size I wanted and added the variety pattern papers to make the border and trimmed it afterward. I used some scraps from my counterfeit kit: Spring Garden, 2 papers from my 100 Pattern Paper challenge, and one cutapart sheet for the words
Dave doing what he does best :)
Fun place to add the date
The right side of the layout: Picture of me pushing the sausage through the grinder as Dave was filling the casings. This is how we do sausage
 close up photos.
Check out what my DT sisters did for this sketch over at Stick It Down. I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun sketch
