Whimsy Flower Happy Birthday

Good Morning and WOW the last day of June! Where the heck did June go! Been quiet this month and most of my plans for crafting this month has fizzled out, but I did get a few accomplished. Summer seems to do that for me, making more memories than scrapping them I guess. But looking towards July and some Christmas in July stuff and getting some cards done and working on past Christmas' Dec Dailys is planned when time lets me :) Just a heads up on what you might see next month. But we still have one final day in June and it's a Funday Friday!
This week is Always Anything Goes over at Jos Scrap Shack and our Sponsors are Little Blue Button Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps. I had this cool Whimsy Flower Digi Stamp for my creation from Little Blue Button Stamps:
I colored it with Bic markers and some glaze pens too. I used the sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for my card, really cute sketch:
Just a cool card to play with. I used scraps from last month's counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for my card. The inside of the card:

Unavailable Today - Road Trip LO for a Use Your Stuff Challenge

Good Day :) today I'm the hostess of this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog. My husband and I often take Road Trips, some times close to home and other times a few hours from home. MY challenge is layout or a card of A Road Trip! Vacation layout or card. For the card I'm pretty easy and would let it be a vehicle on it too for the meaning of road or trip :) or and Home sweet Home card for getting home from a trip. Just have fun with it. Here is my layout from one of Road Trips my hubby and I took most recently:
We did have a blast this trip :) Thought we were going to get rained on but it did stay away most of the trip. After visiting the Vistor's Center in the area, Dave thought we had a bit of extra time, thinking we were going to see everything we wanted to see in just a few hours, so suggested seeing this Flea Market. Wow was it huge! We spent a couple of hours there. In the long run we did miss a few of the things I wanted to see, but glad we took in the flea market and now we have a reason to go back down next year.
I used my current counterfeit kit: Sweet Summertime and the foundation page came from my 100 Pattern Paper Challenge pile. I also went to Scrap Our Stash challenge for some help getting my layout together using their current sketch challenge and word challenge:

S-Striped Paper, U-Unavailable Today (title starting whit a U), M-Martha Stewart border punch. M-Mist, E-Enamel Dots, R-Ric Rac. Love the triangles on the layout pointing your eye throught the layout and the fun neutral paper I used in the pattern has arrows pointing all 4 directions like the way you walk around a flea market :)
 Journaling
Fun cluster and a cool selfie of us
That title a bit low key but the only alphas in my kit that had lots of  'a' in it. I had fun adding alot of word stickers and cuts to the layout too :) A cool place to check out if your ever in the Altoona, PA area.
So I look forward to seeing your Road Trip project over at the linky over at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.

Great Grandpa layout for a Lasting Memories challenge

Welcome to the last challenge for this month of challenges over at Lasting Memories. The theme this month was June Holiday Insights and it's been fun seeing those weird holidays that aren't the normal. Here is another one for this week's challenge is June 25th is Log Cabin Day - Log Cabin Day brings us back to a quieter, simpler, more rugged era. Life was rustic and simple. Make your layout a bit rustic and simple. Maybe add some torn edges to your layout, use neutral colors, or a woodsy look to your layout.
I did a torn edge on my layout of my husband seeing his Great-Grandson for the 1st time :) The layout itself wasn't to rustic, but the plaid background is my husband as most of the time he is wearing flannels shirts other than these pictures :)
The 3 photos were from Waylon's 1st Birthday party and it was great to see such great interaction with Dave and Waylon. The pictures were taken outside and the location was the Grandaughter's house that looked like a log cabin inside.
This layout also came about from LOAD517 Day 18:
Prompt:
The Godfather – 1972
Although there are many unsavoury actions taking place in this film, the one thing the mafia holds dear is the sentiment surrounding family. How is your family important to you?
As you can see in alot of the layouts I do they usually have family in them, family is very important to us :) This weekend we are up in NY celebrating our Grandson's Graduation. The 1st time my husband got to see his 1st Great-Grandchild. The interaction was great that day. Yes this is our family legacy we see it through the kids, grandkids and Greatgrandkids
Love this photo of Waylon and Dave together. I used last month's counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for my layout
 Title of the layout
Lots of word stickers to help with the journaling. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge blog.

Father layout for a Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge

Good Morning :) Happy Sunday to you and today is a new challenge week over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge blog:
Our challenges for this month are all about June holidays, and today we are celebrating the fact that the first day of summer is this week!
LM #349 - June 20 is the Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year). For this challenge use something long on your layout - like a border - or make a summer layout.
I chose a long border and a June Holiday perfect for Father's Day:
Brad our youngest Father in the family at the moment with his boys Father's Day last year. Cool picture of him and the boys and so glad to have memories like this scrapped of how our family grows through time.  I created this layout not only for this challenge but 3 other challenges too :) I planned to do a layout a day in June as I did in May, but seem to have slacked off a bit on the weekends and not creating as many layouts as I planned, but still crafting with making cards. My plan was to use the Whimsical Musings for my prompts each day this month and I did accomplish a few of them. 1st challenge that started this layout was a challenge over at Whimsical Musings

So all my colors for the layout came from this color scheme, and my current counterfeit kit Sweet Summertime fit this perfect :)
The next challenge was a sketch challenge over at  The Scraproom Blog
and I used their June Jump Start Sketch:

A really fun sketch too :) I want to keep this around cause it would also be great for a pocket layout if I ever need to add any brochures for a layout.
The 3rd challenge is with the yahoo group Scrappin N Chattin: Father’s Day—include a photo of a father and child on your layout
I used a project life card for my journaling :) I've been having fun lately trying to add project life cards to my layouts. The cording element I had gotten that idea from DT member of the The Scraproom Blog: Tina Gale for her Freaky Fast layout she did.
The photo of Brad with Zachary and Tristan :)
The bottom cluster I made for the layout. Lots of things used on this layout from my current kit :) Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you creation for this week's Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge :) There are 5 challenges this month so 5 chances at that fun prize offered over a Lasting Memories

Hooray Card for an Funday Friday challenge

Good morning and welcome :) Today is Friday! A Funday Friday indeed with a challenge that has a twist this week if you want to play along with the twist as it's Always Anything Goes over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our sponsor for today's challenge: Oddball Art Company
I did the Sid the Silly Sea Horse from Oddball Art Company for my card
Isn't he the cutest thing :) I had fun coloring this one. This is the sketch we are to use this week:
As you can see I'm a bit off from the sketch on my card but alot of the elements are there :) I have an oval on my card and the sentiment is with in the oval too. I have little circles scattered about on my image and a few yellow jewel diamonds too, my triangles are there from my cord being criss-cross. Yep I didn't realize we had a sketch this week till I added my completed card :)
close up of Sid. the two things from my Counterfeit kit was the green extra thick twine and the yellow diamond jewels :)
The inside of the card, ready to go to the Grandson in a few weeks :) Love being ahead on Birthday Cards this year. Have a great day today and hope to see you back here soon.
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation too over at Jo's Scrap Shack.

In The Sand for a Sketch In Thyme Project Life Style challenge

If you are looking for today's Sketch N Scrap layout you can find it below this posting.
This is a new sketch today over at Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style challenge and a very interesting sketch indeed:
No automatic alt text available.

The Project Life card I made with the sketch is my title card on the layout:
The beads I added to make it look like sand :)
The layout I created with this title card:
I had fun creating this layout :) by putting the Fun in the Sun block and the project life card I created on the layout and started moving them around till I got what I wanted (freestyle :) cut the 4X6 project life card in half to create that side border coming from behind the title card. Added the washi tape and the word art and the sandbox die cut (all from my current counterfeit kit: Sweet Summertime) and this layout is about done! Added the 2 word phrases that were cut off the main background paper and the yellow diamonds, called that done.
The final picture of Waylon on his 1st Birthday May 3, 2015. A great way to end a cool birthday party looks like he's enjoying the sandbox. Sabrina said: He loves it and I was so glad he never tried to eat the sand, he just played in it.....
So a 1st Birthday done and in the books, now need to do #2 and #3 :) Plus a few more of the Great Grands Birthday parties. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation over at Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style

Happy Birthday to You Great Grandson for a Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to the 1st posting today. This is for today's sketch challenge over at Sketch N Scrap:
No automatic alt text available.
This is a cool sketch challenge and has some fun layers too. This is the layout I created with this sketch:
A layout that has both Great Grandfathers from the Father's side. It was a wonderful surprise that Gordon could make it to the party too. Dave enjoyed the time spent with Waylon at the party also.
 The tag for the journaling
 Dave and Waylon
 Gordon and Waylon.
The title work of the layout. I used my current counterfeit kit: Sweet Summertime for the layout. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation with this fun sketch linked up at Sketch N Scrap.

Summer Fun Layout Challenge for Use Your Stuff Blog

Good Morning :) I hope you had an awesome weekend. Mine was different for sure!
Today Tammy is challenging us to use warm sunny colors - oranges, reds, yellows, turquoise, bright green - any of those fun summer colors that just warm you inside and out! I used mainly the oranges, reds and yellows on my layout:
A couple pictures of the Grandboys that Brad took and posted on facebook last summer. The colors are a great combination with the wagon color and the pedal tractor color. I used my current kit : Sweet Summertime for my layout.
For my inspiration for the layout I went to The Memory Nest and used the current challenge sketch:
The doily didn't quite show up as I thought it would but it gave a nice backdrop the @ spot on the layout I created for part of the title work.
I wrote in Brad"s posting on Facebook and added my own posting and thoughts for the pictures plus the date.
I'm enjoying this die cut pack I got at the yardsale in my kit this month, perfect Title spots being used.
 Picture of Zachary and Tristan
I got inspiration from on of the DT's layout for this upper corner layout cluster it seem to help ground the layout better. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation posted up on the Use Your Stuff challenge blog

Smile for a Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning :) I hope your weekend is going well :) We are finally seeing some sunshine here in PA after lots of rainy gray days and the temperature is suppose to climb up over today and the next few so some summer temps are on the horizon.
Over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge we have a new challenge for you today.  Our theme for June is "June Holiday Insights" and our challenge is:
June 14th is Flag Day here in the US, so in honor of the colors of our flag here in the USA, this challenge use red, white, and blue on your layout.
The layout I created inspired by these colors:
Brad the youngest of Dave's kids with his girl (now his wife) Katherine. This picture they gave us awhile back and we had it on our hutch with the other family pictures. We have changed it out a few times with more current photos of them. I was glad to come across it and get it scrapped. I used my current counterfeit kit Sweet Summertime for the layout and the pops of red came from that one 6X6 paper pad that I included in the kit.
I added my own journaling to the layout in red pen.
This is a copy of what was written by Katherine on the back of the photo.
I added this 4X6 project Life card that I feel is very true in a new relationship.
 The lovely couple :)

Thank you for stopping by today :) We have a very nice prize this month and look forwards to seeing your creation for this challenge and for all the challenges this month.I also was inspired by Whimsical Musings Challenge #210 - red, white & blue

June Kit for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Good Morning :) I gathered up a small kit for this month for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog's challenge. We had some sweet inspiration from Felicity Jane kit club and they chose their May 2017 kit, Willow, as our inspiration for June:

Lots of soft pretty colors for the beginning of Summer. I had fun gathering this kit and brought a couple of pieces from last month's kit into this months kit cause of the similarity of it.

My kit this month is Sweet Summertime

I pulled in paper, lot of bits and pieces, washi tape and ribbon, 2 different mists, lots of stickers and a few used up alphas.
I included the Close To My Heart Scrapbooking  on the Go kit: Hopscotch seem like the corals and the blues were a good match. This kit includes and fun stamp set, chipboard pieces, flair and the extra thick twine. I also had the picture life cards too for this kit and added that with it.
The papers again with the choices of 6X6 paper pads and also some old cricut paper pads I want to get used up.
My chosen Alphas for my kit :) really need to locate a program that helps figure out words from the letters you have on hand. so I can get these used up and all those numbers hmmmm need to figure out how to use those too.
It's gonna be another good month to scrap I'm thinking :)
