Project Life 2013: Week 11

Good Morning all. I have a project life spread for you today. This is Week 11, this one sat on my desk for a few days before I finally got a chance to finished it. It came together really quick, but got held up with the week card and typing up the week in review card. Now this 2 page spread is from March 11-16, 2013. March 17 will be a page on it's own we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Here is the 2 page spread:

Lots of things happening this week including the choosing of a new Pope thought it was best to add that too. When I was doing this week there was also a challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket to use vellum so I had included that in 2 spots on the layout also. I used Simple Stories Documented papers through out the spread except for the one green piece that I had gotten in a swap, with filling the plastic eggs up and Buddy's main picture gave it a nice pop of color.
Left Side:

This side included the week card and a weekly review card. Card I made for my grandson Bradley's birthday, you can find the details on the card here. Buddy and his squirrel, birds in the feeder, Jake in his dog house and National Potato Chip day.
Right Side:
This side included the new Pope, Dave helping out a neighbor and what we did on Saturday the 16th.
A closer look to the picture of Buddy so proud of him that day, but he seemed to be humble about it. Also a swap box I got together for a swap and the goodies I put on the outside of it.
Ah my favorite chip had to get a bag and a picture for National Potato Chip Day
A little bit on the new Pope and the vellum that I added to the page that I found on a vellum sheet of quotes. First time I think I used staples to attach something.
Dave helping our neighbor clean up her grape vines, makes her yard look good and not an eyesore for us to see. Of course Dave's shadow is right behind him our Buddy dog.
Saturday the 16th took over the rest of the page, I included a block that was going around face book about 3/16 and the reference to John 3:16 one of my favorite passages. Our trip to Surplus Outlet to get more candy for the hunt on Sunday, we got caught in a snow storm going and coming out of the store. The bags of candy and us filling them. Also the movie we saw Saturday night-Battleship-love Netflix for the monthly subscription home delivery to be able to see all the movies that we haven't had a chance to see yet at a decent price.

If your thinking where's Sunday well it's a bit hard to just choose 1, 2 even 5 photos from that day, our 2nd annual Easter Egg hunt with the Grand-kids, but had some fun with the kids too, so there will be an insert coming yet for that day to include in the week.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm slowly getting the year done and enjoying the process of Project Life. look forward to getting into spring in the next week's spread my favorite season. I hope your enjoying your Project Life too....

Altered Mini Composition Book

Hi you all, have you ever tried altering a cover of a composition book? It can be lots of fun and will give you a unique front cover that can easily be found if you need it quickly. Here is one I did, a Mini Compostion Book I did for a swap with the Cricut Exchange group I'm in with:
Here is one up close for more detail:

Details:

I used a 4.5” X 3.25” Composition book
Front and back paper came from the DCWV Mademoiselle Paper stack, paper was inked with Distressed ink: Brush Corduroy.
The binding came from paper I received in a swap box-thought it was perfect for this
Stamp: SU Charming set
Die-cut with Spellbinders: Labels Nine.
Ink: Brilliance Cosmic Copper.
Various die-cuts from a premade packs: The butterflies came from K&Company SW Nature Butterfly

Here is the one I did from myself, I love purple so I preferred this paper for myself, it came from the same pack.
This was a fun project and something different it makes a nice gift and with the school specials starting it's a good time to get the books a good price.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a view from my little corner of the world....

Lime Gelatin Salad

Hi ya all, hope your having a fabulous summer so far and for the ones down under I hope winter isn't to bad. I have a recipe for you today from May's swap with the local girls. The theme was Jello/Pudding recipe and I have had this recipe saved for the longest time and finally tried it:
I used Cricut Preserves cartridge for my cuts on the recipe card. The word Lime was cut at 1" with shadow from page 58 and I used the lemon cut on page 59 for the lime fruit because I wanted the whole fruit not just the slice and that was cut at 2.25".
I used various scraps for the die cuts:
the plaid is from Heidi Grace Designs: A Little Bird Tale
the shadow from one of the DCWV paper pads in my collection, not sure which one
the Lime came from Cotton Bloom pack
Not sure of the other 2 papers that made up the lime I found scraps in my green paper drawer but no name to go with it.
The paper the recipe is printed on came from Staples a variety paper pack
And the background paper came from a Basic Grey paper pack I got awhile back at Big Lots.

The recipe is great for a summer get together, have a fabulous day!

Homespun Congrats!

Hello and welcome to my blog, I'm the designer today over at Card A Day Blog and the theme is New: New home, New job, New school and so on. My card for today:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpAJtdgodtWasLuG48y5n0mzup6kaKijDaV96QhyphenhyphenUCmvqIl1VLHbuTnuY-Okk-UgOTjnekM2TnPaGTm83XNOqCWJ9nKbwThgRwAUQWIq-2gZ7hLZIqCNEFWA-EzfnUjPR1X754-B6YcNwe/s1600/DSC02221.JPG
A congrats on a new home with a homespun look. We were on vacation this past week so I had to get this card made up this morning in a jiffy before heading to work so it's nice to have things on hand to use and make it come together so well.
The card base is A2 size card from Staples Ivory cardstock the mat is gingham brown check from an unknown paper pack. The House piece is a 2 X 3 card from the Harvest Lane collection from Simple Stories, so are the letters used on the card. The bow is premade and is from my ribbon drawer and the key came from Sweet Surrender collection by Tina Higgins.
It was a quick easy card to make and when your in a hurry things like these come in handy. So when your creating think ahead what you might be able to use for a fast card when the time is tight. Hey you all a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world....

Cheers!

I want to personally thank the veterans for it was the first veterans that gave me my liberties and freedoms that I can enjoy today!

I am the designer today over at Card A Day Blog. The theme today is Just for Men and I wanted to show you all this card before I start off my day's festivities.
This card was made from a Card with Color Theme for a swap for a Yahoo group I belong to: Northeast Scrapbook Friends a great little group. The color theme was Mineral tones: Lgt Brown, Brown, Navy, Blue, Lgt Blue-Gray. This is A-2 size card, card base is from the Neutral Fashion Colors paper pack and layered with brown paper.
This is the inspiration for the card layout, magazines are great inspirations for cards especially if your at lost of what you want to do. Leaf through one and you'll figure out what you want to do real quick,
My cuts for the cards royal blue mat, then the navy w/ white dots  on top of the mat. 2nd piece is the long piece done in blue and the top piece is colorbox water paper. Last layer is the light brown (tan) and the same color as the card base for the sentiment block.
The inside of the card and the sentiment was stamped with the Fiskars stamp set: Aged to Perfection. stamped in SU Brilliant Blue and add Brilliant Blue rhinestones for dimension.

Have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the word...

Project Life 2013: Week 10

Good Morning all. I have a project life spread for you today. This is Week 10, slowly advancing but sticking right with it, just need a bit of me time to catch up. Week 10 was just a week of the everyday stuff and a glimpse into spring.
Here is the 2 page spread:
This week was so jammed packed that I didn't do a week in review but the highlights of the week are mentioned throughout the spread. When I was doing this week there was also a challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket to use frames so I had included 2 of those in the layout also. I used Simple Stories Documented papers through out the spread
Left Side:
This side included the week card, update on my finger and a new cereal I tried (very good). Smash page, color and cut using a frame from making memories 5th Avenue die-cuts, a cute happy chart to tag up with the happy mail.  A before and after picture of the lighting going up for the plants to grow.
Right side:
Thursday night was a full night of TV shows and one of my favorites was celebrating 500th musical performance so I got the clipping about it out of the TV guide. Bible study and crafting was a big part of the week. Jake our older dog enjoying the heat for the cook-stove. Included a little Friday night fun on facebook with one of the groups I belong too. Saturday was a gorgeous day, the weather was nice enough to hang laundry out and did some cleaning with a playlist of albums that I was listening to and the bible study for that particular day was very overpowering and I included that. Sunday did some blog posting, did a smash page and worked on PL.
It was a beautiful week with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s for the first full week of March and framed a picture of the crocus popping up out front (framed with making memories Glitter Clears glitter pieces).
Some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world.
