My August Forged Kit playing along with CKC

Hi you all :) Yep it's the beginning of the month and that means the Counterfeit Kit Challenge has a new kit for us to forge this month for my monthly crafting. They decide to use the kit from Scrappy Canary for us to interpret it in our own way:

So when I get a chance to check out Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to see what the new kit is I make notes about the kit:

My kit for the month is called: On The Road Again

These are the papers that I matched up to the papers that were in the kit: Their papers:

My papers:
Lots of odd and ends of my stash, but then I went a little further and added what I had in travel papers for the travel photos I have taken over the last couple of months:
I pulled the rest of my Simple Stories: Urban Traveler paper, Crate Paper: Open Road, Some odd travel paper, and my Simple Stories: I (heart) Summer paper (really trying to get this used up :)

Oh and 1 last paper will come from this:
When I seen that page with the asymmetric chevron pattern I knew I could easily forge that with washi tape and a stamp. So I found the tapes I wanted to use and the star will be stamped for one of the 2 stamp sets I have in the picture just not sure which way I'm going with it yet.
The Alphas:
The embellishments which there is alot of. Since we take lots of Road Trips I have a large collection of things just for traveling layouts:
I pulled flair, stickers, stamps, veener, cut apart bingo cards. I also pulled:
My Mind's Eye Hello World collection I had I totally forgot I even had this until I came across it looking for something else. Also Paper House: american road mini paper pad and my Basic Grey: Capture snippets pads. Lots more little extras:
I also really dug into my old smashbook stash and found these:
Pockets, envelopes and frames. The kit had envelops and so fun insta style cards going on. From master forger Leslie I drew form her a way to use those frames in a fun way. You can see her tutorial here at her blog if you want to check it out.
I know that it is a very large kit, that is one thing I am very notorious for is when to say done! when I'm looking through my stash. I also know I have lots of vacation photos to scrap from the past couple of months and also the month ahead so this kit will very well carry over to next month and maybe even October as I'm finishing up my traveling/vacation/summer pictures. Now I'm off to do some creating and oh yes there is another challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog that I need to be tending too also. You all have a great day :)

  1. Wow -- that's a super-sized kit! You'll definitely have plenty of choices when you start scrapping all your travel photos though. You have a nice mix of brights and neutrals and I'm sure you'll make lots of great layouts this month.

  3. You really do have a FAB selection of travel-themed stash! Sounds like your kit will serve you well with the backlog of vacay photos.
Always great to know when we've helped out with your forgeries. Those frames were so easy to "dress up" & may be a go-to item for me for a long time. Please post your chevron forgery post to the Linky! Can't wait to see - I'm sure yours will take a lot less time than mine did :-) Leslie

    1. Thank you Leslie :) That was one of the ideas I picked up when I checked out the blog hop was those frames from you and knew I had some floating around somewhere. When I seen your post about the frames forgery it clicked and I knew I would have to give that a go :) Thanks for so much help with my kit this month just by what I saw :)

    2. Great kit, Tina. Love the thicker shapes you added. Looking forward to seeing how you use the slide frames as I struggle with them - I even have a die that hardly sees the light of day.

  7. I like what you've picked out! Seeing your list is neat too... I've often wondered if you tried to match papers one by one or what... this makes a lot of sense!

  9. Hi Tina, great kit! Isn't it funny how all our kits look so different yet inspired by the same CFK. Thanks for calling by my blog earlier, and I think scrapping genealogy is so important :) I <3 old photos and stories :) Lauren
