LM challenge: Heatwave/Chipboard

Hi you all :) I had a blast yesterday taking in a True Scrap 7 event :) 8 hours of scrapbooking classes on the internet! It was AWESOME! I encourage you to take a look at it next year for a fun scrappy day and learning a bit too. One class showed how to use the fuse which wasn't even what the class was about but she created a page using it so I learned something that wasn't even advertise. That is a Win Win in my book :) Now I can't wait to see the replays and play along with the classes.
So enough about my weekend, today is the last challenge for October over at Lasting Memories: LM #265 - "It's a Heatwave."  AND... show one or many CHIPBOARD elements on your layout!!
This is what I created for the challenge:
A 2 page layout about how we spent that day this year. As I work nights we didn't do to much because of going into work. I used paper layers and chipboard for the layout that is it except for some ink and a PL card. It was fun to go through all my chipboard Alphas and stickers for this layout. It's very challenging just to use one thing but the results can really be fun.
I used the current sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges: #FlashbackFriday
I used the updated sketch for my layout. I loved the way everything comes around on this sketch. I use larger photos so I added more photos to my layout than what was in the sketch, but my layout does get it's inspiration from that sketch.

My title work :) I got the red starred letters in a swap, this was the perfect layout to finally get a chance to use them :) the year was in pink chipboard, so blue ink to the rescue and used a dabber to color them.
I learned yesterday about duh journaling and here I go adding it to my layout. I guess I'm gonna have to work on my storytelling skills, but the journaling does give more of an explanation of the day.
A close up of some of the pictures on the layout. We always start the day by hanging out the flag, turn on the radio for the top 500 countdown so good tunes all day and the cooking begins with a couple of dishes in the crockpots. Then there is also chores throughout the day too, washing and hanging out laundry.
Did some flower planting, we had an open fire in the pit to roast hotdogs for lunch (a favorite of ours in the summer) and grilling hamburgers for dinner. I took a nap in-between, very relaxing day for us. I used the background paper and the red paper from my current counterfeit kit. This was made for LOAD 24 yesterday and I went way off prompt for the day but got it done :) I can save the actual prompt for another layout for  another day it will make for a fun story to tell, just need to sit and work my thoughts about it first and will need more time than just a few hours.
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing what you create and link up to Lasting Memories Challenge.
Thank you for stopping
