This weeks challenge at Lasting Memories is to tell us what you love about yourself.
Go ahead and brag a bit, I know I am. These are the kind of stories you want to leave for future generations:)
I certainly enjoy doing many things, but what I love most about myself
is my baking abilities :) Something that I started to learn at home with
Mom, enhance my skills through Jr. High and Sr. High School with Home Economics and
Cooking classes and now with the internet there are loads of great
recipes to try out there :) I have a few favorites that are a go to if I want to have a dessert made quickly, but I also like to challenge myself and find new recipes that then become more favorites :)A few of my favorite baking goodies :) Apple and Pumpkin pies, Coconut cake, and new favorite Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese icing, and a variety of cookies at Christmas time with Sand Tarts being the yearly classic.
I found a sketch to use for my layout:
I had fun creating the layout using my current counterfeit kit: Supper Daze and also using Whimsical Musings: WM#142 inspired by going round in circles, using many circle embellishments on the layout.
Also the challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group for the 3 Ring Circus challenge of using at least 3 circles on my layout. I count 9 altogether.
I found this fun recipe card in my Recipe/Kitchen stash box and though this was a good place to use that :)
A fun Home Economics diecut to add to this fun cluster. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to see your creation for this fun challenge.

I shouldn't be reading blogs before breakfast - now I'm craving something fresh and homemade! Great page! I like all the embellishments that kept with your baking theme.
ReplyDeleteHey Tina, you are making me down right hungry! LOL I love to bake too, it's very satisfying (in more ways than one!)
ReplyDeleteI made my daughter a "family cookbook" (which I scrapbooked, complete with pics of fam. members that made her fav. recipes when she moved to go to University. Although at the time she said she didn't want me to make it as "it was more MY thing than hers". I made it anyway and gave it to her and before her 1st year ended she was already thanking me.
Thank you so much :) What a wonderful gift to give to a daughter :) I think that is the best thing that a Mother could past down to a daughter a book of memories for sure :)
DeleteWhat a really fun layout Tina! I too love to bake and my pies go for lots of money when I auction them off. It's fun, but at the same time I'm like it is just a pie people. lol Bret won't eat any other person's pie crust, Dwayne wouldn't either. It is fun find new recipes isn't it?!! Your goodies look so yummy on your layout. I feel like I could reach out and grab something good and wish I could. lol Hugs, Brenda
