Counterfeit Kit Challenge-Jan 2014

Hello and welcome to January 2014 Counterfeit Kit Challenge-my take on the kit. It was fun to see the email about the new kit this month and I took a look and wow what a cool kit choice with all the wintery colors and some neutrals too. I'm excited to be crafting this month after December being just a working/family time month for me. This is what the kit looks like:

and they threw in an embellishment kit in for the month too:

December 2013 OHDEERME Kit
I love shopping from my stash and I tried to stay as close to the look and feel of the kit as I could, with a few extra editions. The color scheme of the kit has a winter feel to it with the grays, pinks and blues, lots of snowflakes and doilies too. I named my kit Winter Chaos because of the variety of paper for the different layouts to be made from it So here is my take on the kit:
 The cardstock/vellum I chosen
2 picture shots of the pattern paper choices I decided upon (put 6 back that just wasn't working).
My diagonal paper is Christmas colors so I brought in more Christmas papers for 1 layout. but should be able to pull 2 out of it. Lots of wintery paper so I added the winter words paper to use also. I traded the road map paper for the world paper in the suggested kit cause we do alot of road traveling so thinking I'll be using that more than the world paper.
My embellishments for the kit includes: Found 2 gray letters and doodle type for my alphas, doilies in my stash, wooden trinkets from CTMH, Sequins for the stars, Midway pack of brads besides the few I found in my stash, various vellum and rub on sayings/words and Simple stories 24/7 chipboard sheet.
For the Oh Deer Me add on embellishment kit ^^^^^^^^^^^^
I chose 4 stamp sets 3 CTMH and one of my newest favorites for winter layouts is the Winter Wonderland stamp set from 3 Twenty Crafts (A new stamp business).
3 different varieties of washi tape, a roll of glitter tape, found stars on this package of birthday stickers, snowflack brads, my flower will come out of the flower pack that I found, I have clips from Stampin Up.
Rhinestones, snowflake bling and ahesive buttons, some frames, acrylic pieces and I think nestled down at the bottom is some acrylic overlays.
Chipboard pieces from CTMH, more Rhinestones and thee chipboard numbers.

Looks like a full kit to keep me active all Jan. I knoow of a few layouts I want to get done and the rest will come as I go through my printed pictures and getting organized into an Iris container (one of the things I got with my Christmas Gift cards to hold all the printed photos I have scattered all over the place. I'm also taking the Inspired Scrapbooking class at Big Picture Classes and will be using my kit for that also.

I know that this is an overloaded post, but I was excited to show it to you. I seen some of the girls added a disclaimer which I will do too: That I can choose to pull in more cardstock if needed and I'm a cricut/cameo girl and will include die cuts when I feel necessary for the feel of my layouts.
Do you have any scrapping to do and just don't know what approach to take you may want to take on the challenge and do the Counterfeit Kit way of scrapping, you have it all pulled together and now just need to put it into action. Have a fantastic day!

    1. Check it out Emily I really think you'll like doing it, I love that I get to actually look through my stash and then I see things that I had purchased for a specific layout and get that out too. It's a win-win!

  11. Your kit is very interesting to me. While I don't have, many of the items you chose, it looks like something I would put together, and so, feels very familiar. I am so looking forward to seeing the layouts that come of it.
