January Blog Hop with Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Welcome to January's Blog Hop from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. If you came from Lisa's blog Recklinghausen Musings your on the right track and If your just starting the hop, then you'll want to go to the beginning at  CKCB, so you can see all the ladies' contributions. The challenges this month are:
  1. >>>>Challenge #1 Subway Art - Use the subway art technique (using different colors/fonts in a block of writing like a title or journaling)
  2. Challenge #2 Container Challenge -  stamp it, die cut it, draw it…use a container somewhere on your project!
  3. Challenge #3 Stamp On Patterned Paper Challenge -  Stamping on plain paper is easy.  Stamping on Patterned Paper takes guts!  Let's see how gutsy we can get with some stamping!
This is my first hop with Counterfeit Kit Challenge and I choose to do the Subway Art challenge. I wanted to add something special to Zach's 1st Birthday layout for his album and knew that this subway art style would make a cool border and I took advantage of my cricut cartridge Graphically Speaking to help me with it. I used the confetti style paper and a royal blue paper in my stash to make the border with the blue cardstock from the kit as a border background to separate from the pattern of the layout paper.
This is the 2nd page of  the 2-page layout. I used the pinkish/salmon color pattern paper borders on the page, also brought a piece simple stories documented line a cut of the yearly date for a border. and some blue ribbon I had set aside just for these layouts.
I fussy cut the cake out and used it like a flair to bring all the pictures together. Added some chosen ballon stickers and some CTMH:Creme Brulee bakers twine for the bow and strings for the balloon stickers
Close up of the 1st page shows the pinkish/salmon pattern paper used for photo mats, a sticker for the title of the layout and a journaling block from the cut out sheet from the kit.
Another look at the subway art, I really enjoyed doing this and will give this a try again. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have lost of fun hopping around the blog.Your next stop on the hop is Katie at Kiss and Tell Scrapbooking
