Good Morning! This layout came about from Day15 of LOAD215. The day was a sunday which is Your Story theme and the prompt was Favorite Family Quotes that come from books. well I had no strong memories of that, but I do remember the slang that was used by the family back then. My mom was strong Pennsylvania Dutch so I heard a few of these growing up. This fun list I got off the internet and it makes me laugh cause it is so true!
I used Sketch #427 over at Scrapbook Challenges
This was a perfect sketch with all that journaling spots :) I used washi tape for the border sewing lines. So this layout also fits the challenge over at Scrap Our Stash: Stash Challenge: WASHI
W: washi tape, wood veneers, A: Alphas, Arrow S: Sticker (tab label for the scrapped date), H: hearts, I: Inked edges
Some closer views of the layout.
I used my current counterfeit kit and some embellishments from some older kits too
This layout was a blast to do!
Yes! I did catch my mistake on the original layout the next day of my spelling and here is the corrected layout. Thanks a bunch and watch out cause another layout blog post is on the way :)
Love the choice of random photos of the area to go with your story! What a fun subject to scrap :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you displayed your story here!
ReplyDeleteLove this sketch, love your take on the sketch and I love reading all the "slang" which I knew all to much about! lol I didn't grow up in PA and only just moved here 29 years ago. But I settled right in and know about most of your things you have in your layout. My favorite and one that I picked up on immediately is: I was redded up the house today. lol I was surprised when I first moved here that kids got off to hunt and I have been to do many fire hall wedding receptions than I can count. I know where to get good scrapple from as well as hot bacon dressing. The state store got me too because we bought wine, beer and hard liquor all in the same place. lol But now I wouldn't want to live any where else but Pee-ay. The country is beautiful and I am in love with the Pee-ay dutch ways!! Love, love this lay out Tina! And I love the photo's you used on this one. Hugs Brenda
