Good Morning all, so far it's been just a gorgeous weekend here in PA. Dave and I had a wonderful time together yesterday hitting the yard sales and seeing the IH truck show at the Sones Musuem here in Muncy, PA. finally a weekend with no rain we are well blessed :) Corn is in tassel so everything in the garden should be growing a bit faster now that it's had some sunshine.
Today is a Lasting Memories challenge and this week's challenge is to use 3 pattern papers. With the way I use pattern papers in my layouts it was actually challenging to do one with just 3 pattern papers, but I did.
The background paper, the pre die-cut paper and the paper behind the journaling are my 3 pattern papers. This is another layout from May's Load Music Mayhem. I used my May Counterfeit Kit for the layout. This came from the prompt on May 15: Cover Me, Cover You: Let’s take a spin on styles and genres today! Artists will often “cover”
a song in a new style – maybe they speed it up or slow it down. Find a
page you like in the gallery and put your own spin on it. So I did: I really like how Cynthia did her layout on the day of the popular song so that is the one I lifted (sorry I can't show you hers). She did her's from May of the same year and I just loved the way it was layed out so mine just about matches her's other than I added the top 5 songs in the middle which she didn't have. I mimicked the tilt of the 4 spots on the layout and I mimic her journaling exactly except putting mine in for her's.
Sherry was the #1 song the day I was born, that explains why I like the 4 Seasons songs :) I'm truly thankful I wasn't named Sherry, Mom did say she was thinking Cheryl and at the final moments changed her mind. I titled the layout After Midnight (a song title I found on the internet) with the subtitle of in 1962. See I was born shortly after midnight, Mom said that at first they had my date for the 5th of October, but she gotten it straighten out.
The journaling was printed on white cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders Label 9 dies
This addition to the page was for the fun of it the Top 5 songs of that day.
I kept each block to 4X4. It was a fun layout to do and a good one to use to start an about me album. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world and I hope to see your creation linked up to Lasting Memories challenges real soon.
Cute photo! I love that you dedicated a page to the #1 song from your birthdate. Mine was, "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", (1/14/64) - at least that's what my mom recorded. Love the slant and your wonderful journal cards!
ReplyDeleteReally adorable baby pic and I love this layout! Love that you listed the top five songs! It's kinda funny about your name switch.... because you seem to be around the age of my mom and aunts... and back then, the name Cheryl and Tina must have been popular. I say that because my mom's name is Barbara... but her sisters, both my aunts are Tina Marie and Cheryl Ann .... and they called my aunt Cheryl, "Sherry" as a teenager. It's just kinda cute in a way that your story relates to my family story. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout!

Your photo is adorable! What a fun thing to scrap about. I may have to go look up the #1 song from when I was born!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous layout Tina! I love your cute picture, so fun that you have it! I love how you did this layout, the fun music and all. I too love the 4 Seasons but so glad my name isn't Sherry too. lol What a great way to start an album all about you! Yes, wasn't it nice not to have any rain for once?!! Our sweet corn is in tassel too, can't wait to eat some when it comes in. The crops are looking much better since we have had sunshine. Enjoy your week my friend! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI love the way you tied in your song facts to your life - very fun! I'm a 1962 baby too.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for your journaling and an oh so sweet photo!
ReplyDeleteTina this is such a cute layout. Love how you kept everything the same size and on a slant. It's a great start to your album.
