First Airplane Ride

Good Day to you all :) LOAD is in full force this month and so far it's been a blast ! I've done layouts I would have never considered doing and they should be recorded :) I've already posted Day 1 so this Layout is from Day 2 aka LOAD2. The theme for that day of the week is Transportation and they started out with the prompt: Airplane. One of the ideas given was a first airplane ride, so that is what I went with :) it also had me going through Mom's old memorbilia with the trip we took in 1985 to get to our cruise ship we had to take a plane! Yep, I've never been on one and Mom took every precaution with the meds and all and I survived just fine :)
This is the 2 page spread about the ride :) My Cruise Album has finally begun :) This maybe something I'll work on next month with Calvinball :) For more information about Calvinball you can find it here I used last month's Counterfit kit Brighter Year Ahead for my layout. I also used the sketch over at Let's Scrap : Their first sketch of the month :) Looks like I just missed the link up for it. Shouldn't wait to long to get things blogged I guess :)

This was such a cool sketch to work with for this layout.
The left side of the page holds the picture of us as we were on the boat, but was able to cut some out for this layout, we went right from the airport to the boat so the clothes would have not changed :) So this is a photo you'll see twice with 2 different stories :) I was lucky Mom kept everything from the trip :) We have so much in common when it comes to that kind of thing :) Tickets and welcome letter (sized down to fit). I took advantage of the airplane artwork and used that for my title work.
The right page held my journaling, memento for the plane ride and a picture of the wallet that we received for all our airplane stuff to stay in, the flight schedule and our boarding passes.
A couple of Close up shots of the layout
This is a great way to get yourself going on a layout is with memorabilia and so glad I had so much to choose from.
The title work and all the fun pennants :)
This was a blast to put together and so far I'm staying on top of LOAD and haven't missed any yet :) Hope your having a great day on this snowy day (Here in my little corner of the world I woke up to it snowing :)
