Mom Please! layout

Hi you all and welcome to Friday afternoon post of yesterday's Load514- Day 15. The theme is Pop Culture and the prompt: Fashion Victim. My love for jeans started coming about when I was 12 and starting Jr High.
I used the sketch from Scrap our Stash: Sketch Challenge #14
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTrF2FgBhtei8r8uBEL9LRk9S6A7maE9oREnBKqBw_ficHqbxzL8_IFanEhLoKrGIm8jj2rRhjcQzMKpBBLQfkR_UhzvPYSgJNa-E86RwMFp84zJs9nnKrJOQQoR43bloo93u1kjla57dV/s1600/sketch+13.jpg
For my colors I was considering drawing from my photos, but decided to give CFC challenge #1 Color Your Mood a try. Since this layout is about blue jeans I tried to stay in that color group with the added on color of yellow from the other paper that featured the dresses. From my quilting days I knew these 2 colors complimented each other and what I found out about the mood colors:
BLUE. Intellectual. Positive: Intelligence, communication, trust, efficiency, serenity, duty, logic, coolness, reflection, calm.
YELLOW. Emotional Positive: Optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness, creativity. I'm not much into the negatives of the colors, that isn't what I think when I see these colors.

To me blue makes me feel comfortable like a great pair of jeans and yellow makes me think of sunny and yes cheerful . Sorry about the pictures the colors of the varieties of blues didn't show up as well as it looks in person. Mostly all elements came from this kit and past kits that have been hanging around my room. I pulled in the paper of the dresses from a Brenda Walton paper pack that's been in my stash awhile now, the frame circle came from a Creative Memories jewel frames pack from last month's kit.
Alpha's came from BoBunny: Block Party combo sticker sheet. I added a doily that I cut out last month with my cameo. The background cardstock is the darker blue of the 2 blues I pulled this month for cardstock. The arrows are from a SU punch that I punched a couple of months ago.
the journaling block is an index card that I punched with my SU 2.5" punch. I added a couple of elements from Simple Stores 24/7 sticker sheets.
The yellow circle journaling block adds more to the story and it's a sticker from a sheet from 2 months ago.
This is me on Christmas Eve1974 in my cool jeans and my cool haircut back in the day shags/feathering of the hair style were in. I was holding our dog Gidget and our other dog Murphy was next to me. There weren't many pictures taken growing up but Mom took one of me by the Christmas tree each year.

What were the fashions of your day? Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm doing in my little corner of the world.

  3. What a super fun and cool layout Tina! I love that sketch too. I love the colors you chose and get the same mood from the blue and yellow as you do. Oh yes I remember the dresses and pant suits. My mother made all my dress and pant suits and I just wanted jeans. I think I finally got them in late middle school, but not the jeans that were popular. But I didn't care, I was just happy to finally get jeans. lol I think too it was middle school when we girls were finally able to wear pants! Gosh that was amazing, no more freezing legs at the bus stop. lol Hugs

  12. great thing to scrap!! I wished my mom had bought me fashionable clothes (or at least would've asked me what I liked) when I was a kid but alas, it never happened...I always looked like a fashion DON'T!
