Hi all,
Boy has it been busy around here, but I did get a chance to put together a recipe layout for a challenge at Lasting Memories:
This was a fun layout to make, it features the recipe and some picks of the day that we made the ravioli. This is on of the family favorites at our house and it's usually done on the weekend, cause of the fun of making them. This particular day we were showing Brad and Katherine how to make them, I got to be photographer for this event so the memory of the day was captured.
Better get going I've got laundry to do, dusting, sweeping and 26 cards to get made for tomorrow's card swap, a full day indeed. Oh yea, my granddaughter's violin rectal in between. Have a great weekend!

One for Melissa Pinter
To carry on from yesterday, this card was made for Melissa. Melissa is a very special Mom as we could see in the bio she gave us on Ethan. She sacrifices each day and her family to be with her son. This card is for you Melissa:
This card was made at the same time as with Ethan's card, so I used the same cartridge for it. The outside of the card was done with Wild Card on pg 47 the phrase and the frame. I'm glad I used this cartridge because after locating the designs I wanted for this card it open up so many possibilities for other things within this cart.. Looking for specialty envelopes it's in there, Looking for frames for you sentiments it's in there, how about a variety of phrases it's in there, even a liner for the envelope and an alphabet. It's a well rounded cartridge that I plan to do more with in upcoming projects. the doily and the bird I received in a cut swap: Renee Benson and you can check out her blog at CraftyPinkNayNay it's from the Cindy Loo cartridge (need to investigate that one more too).
The inside is out Wild Card cartridge too. Pg 44 phrase and pg 45 Icon: Smiley face which I hand cut the smiley open to give it character. So Melissa I will be getting both cards out in the mail and into your hands soon with alot of prayers in between.
These 2 pictures are of my dogs Buddy above and Jake below, we finally had a real snow storm yesterday and these were taken while they were having fun in the snow. We got 5.25" of the white stuff and I enjoyed a day home cleaning (not enjoyed but needed done) and perusing the internet for ideas and some genealogy research. Thanks for stopping by and checking on what I've been up to.
Stop back tomorrow and see what new project I started working on, I think it's gonna be a fun week with lots of crafting to do....

Blog Hop for Ethan Pinter
Welcome to Blog Hop for Ethan Pinter. He is a little boy that is very sick. Here is a bio from his mom, Melissa Pinter: My name is Melissa Pinter and I have a 2 year old son name Ethan Pinter who was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia att the age of two months old. This is a rare disease because he was not born with Bio Ducts. So Dr. Pintinger and the Akron Children's Team reconstructed them and the procedure was called a Kasi. So at the age of 8 months old Ethan and I were Life flighted to Cincinnati Children's because he had Upper GI bleeds. The only thing that woud help him would be a New liver. Feb 18th 2011 he had recieved a half of another babies liver. This baby saved my son's life and we are so ever so greatful. Ethan and I had waited a total of 9 months for this. We have been seperated from my husband and daughter during that time. Ethan is now 2 years old and is having complications and we are currently living at the Ronald Mcdonald House in Cincinnati till we get him better. He has two crucial virus's that he is currently fighting, they are the EBV Virus and CMV Illuminitis (Fatal Virus- it attacks every organ) .
Welcome and if you came from Courtney's blog then your at the right place, if not and want to start at the beginning you need to head over to Jenn's blog.
We found out at the beginning of this that Ethan likes Elmo and trucks. Since I had no Elmo cartridge I decided to make him a get well card with a truck on it and on the inside too. The front truck came from Just Because Cards cart. I took the sticker element and cut it for the card. The add the sentiment from a variety of places but all the words came from this cart other than the word flat it came from the Wild Card cart, nice font on that cart.
The inside of the card came from the Just Because cards cartridge too. This truck was the basis of the card. Learned something about the card cartridges that all the elements with the card follow the size of the card. Which at first I didn't know that and when I cut out a wanted 2.5" truck I got a
The 1st image is at 1" not exactly what I wanted but the next image is right around 2" after I put the size on the cricut at 4.5" (the card size). I guess sometimes you have to think outside of the box when it comes to the cartridges.Recipe for the card was a variety of scraps, scotch scrapbooker's glue and True Blue sticles
Stop back again tomorrow and check out the card I did for Melissa..
This was a fun card to make and I'm hoping that Ethan enjoys it too. If you would like to send a card to Ethan and his Mom Melissa you can send it to:

Happy Birthday Carl-2012
Hi you all,
I would like to wish my son a Happy Birthday today! He turns 33 today. Wow is it him getting older or me. LOL when your kids start getting older lookout it makes you realize how old you really are! My son is a freak for Superman, such a collector too. So my card will refrain this and I will have this for you tomorrow. Still have to get it all put together yet, between working Saturday, doing the housework, and everything going on yesterday in the craftroom (doing that organizing thing again) I wasn't able to get near the cricut. I also got my covers cut out for the Marion Smith's 31 day challenge that I'm planning to do now I need to figure out what paper style I want to go with and I will be doing traditional and digital scrapbooking (hybrid scrapbooking I think it's called) and I'm looking forward to sharing that with you. So I'll have more tomorrow on the card I made for my son, Hope you all have a fantastic day....

This Could be the Best Read of the Year!
Hi all,
Decided I would just journal a bit today. I was introduced to a book today that might be the best read of the year for me. Terri from Ramblings of a Texas Craft Room mentioned a book that she was enjoying on her blog the other day (it was on the scrap page she made for that day in the actual picture). So I asked here about the book and just now purchased it, yeah me. In just one book it helps me with 2 of the goals I have set for myself this year and I really think God had something to do with this! His glory shows in some of the oddest places. The book is called Made to Crave. Here is the description of the book from Amazon:
Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman's desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn't a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. If you are struggling with unhealthy eating habits, you can break the 'I'll start again Monday' cycle, and start feeling good about yourself today. Learn to stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale. Discover that your weight loss struggle isn't a curse but rather a blessing in the making, and replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to scripts that lead to victory. You can reach your healthy weight goal -- and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. This is a book and Bible study to help you find the 'want to' in making healthy lifestyle choices.
The way that 2012 is starting it's gonna be a fantastic year and I'm looking forward to the ride!
I'll let you know every once in awhile how it is going, With everything happening since the 1st of the year it maybe a good year to do an All About Me album. Terri has been following a challenge that sounds like fun and I could do it too with the start of 2012. Look out you may see it here soon with all the scoop about or you can check out Terri's blog and find out there. Have a fantastic day, I've got some cardmaking to do......

Snack Mix Recipe Card
Hi you all I hope your day is going well, mine's not to awful bad. I was thinking of the goals I had made for the blog this year and January will be a tight month for me to try to make something and get it on the blog too. So I thought why not include some of the things I did last year that I never put on the blog to fill in the gaps till I get the hang of preparing each day's blog earlier like a few days before. So here we go:
I have been in a recipe swap with my local scrapbook store (sadly she had to closed, but we still get together at her house). A bunch of us get together and do this swap, this year is the 3rd year, it's been a yummy 2 years. The card I did this past December was White Chocolate Snack Mix:
The theme for December was snacks for the longest time I could not come up with anything that I thought would fit for this, but the Sunday it was due I started perusing the internet and came across this recipe and it looked good (I love white chocolate!) so this was my choice for the swap. Here's what the snack looks like:
Not to bad, a little sweet and a little salty and it mixes up quick, it keeps well too. It took less time to go out and get the goods for and mix it than what it took to the recipe card.
So for the card itself not much to it. 6" X 6" Base (I think I used paper from the Christmas pack that I was working with last month) thought red was good with the holiday in December so I chose that for my base color. The actually recipe is on pink copy paper from Staples done in Microsoft Word 2000 and just hand cut. Snake Mix was printed in the same program on matte photo paper and punched with SU scallop oval. The White Chocolate was cut out of SU vanilla cardstock (I think) and the lettering was done on the gypsy with the gypsy font (I think). Love doing lettering on the gypsy with the weld function it makes it so much easier to use the letters when they are one piece.
I hope you enjoy the recipe and this month recipe is "Baked" theme, I'm thinking of doing something with the word baked in it. For now see you later and have a fantastic day!

CADB-Valentine's Day Card with a sketch
Hi all and welcome back to the Card A Day Blog followers that followed over from the blog. Well the 1st card of the New Year, I am glad to be sharing it with the Card A Day Blog.
It's Valentines Day week at the blog, so this was perfect timing to create a card for my husband.
The card came from a sketch that is the challenge this week at Mojo Monday-The Blog it just seem like a great sketch to do a card with, I think I did a fair job getting close to the sketch:
I made this in mind for my husband to give to him on Valentines Day. After the fantastic Christmas that I had with him the love is overflowing at the moment and what a great time to do a card with all those feelings bubbling up.
What made this such a fun and interesting card to do was the black background paper that I wanted to use. This began as a 12 X 12 piece of scrapbook paper and I wanted the corner of it with all the writing and to have that word Love emphasized from the paper so I did a fussy cut. Are you familiar with a fussy cut?
Now fussy cut is a term I learned when I was a quilter and it meant to specifically cut an item for what you want it for = fussy cut. So with the large piece of paper I just wanted the corner and fussy cut it to the right size. Boy those quilting tools really came in handy for this.
So now I have my main piece paper and I want to work around the large love in it and still follow the sketch so at this point I'm working piece by piece while measuring the sketch too, to get it all to work:
So here is the recipe for the card:
Cardstock: Red card base-The Paper Co.
Purple cardstock was from a scrap laying on the desk and it just fit with the card
Patterned paper: Black-ATD Occasions & Celebrations pad, Red-I think from DCWV Christmas pack
Stamps: Above Rubies pack received free with a DVD purchase
Ink:SU Basic Black
Punches: SU punch corner small ticket
Purple heart came from a Studio112 pack that I received in a swap
Brad: The red heart Creative Imaginations pack poppedup with (2) 1/8" Glue dots (eksuccess)
Stickles: Xmas Red
Adhesive: ATG & Scotch Scrapbooker's glue, Kokuyo Tape N Roller repositionable for the heart while putting the other elements together before permanently apply it
I have added this card to the following challenges:
Of course MojoMonday it was their sketch used
Give fussy cutting a try if you haven't done it before it is alot of fun to do, till next time....

Goals for 2012
Hi All,
Hope everyone had a fantastic start to the New Year! Today I sat down with coffee in hand and jotted down my personal goals for 2012:
Since I quit smoking (3 years now, yeah for me and my husband), with that comes some other concerns the weight gain that associates with it (food was a friend of mine during that time). So my goal for the year is to lose at least 70 lbs by my 50th birthday in October.
To broaden my horizon and get out of my comfort zone a bit I want to try new techniques and new folds for my cardmaking.
To work on at least 5 albums this year maybe 6:
To be on the blog more often (at least once a week but plan on more than that) and to do some fun things with some blog candy too.
Not to bad of list for the year and should be easily accomplished if I keep my mind to it and stay motivated. What are your goals for 2012 I would love to hear them....

- Family Heritage album
- MGCA album (continuing) (a antique tractor club my husband and I belong to)
- My youngest grandson's 1st year album for a gift for our son and daughter in law
- Cruise album (my mom and I went on 2 cruises (NY Mets fans appreciation cruises) in the late 80s)
- Work on a 2011 chronological album
- and maybe a separate Christmas album of just Christmases (unsure of this one)
To be on the blog more often (at least once a week but plan on more than that) and to do some fun things with some blog candy too.
