DD 2014: Black Friday and more

Hi you all, got some more of my Dec Daily 2014 accomplished over Wed and Thurs night. How are you doing with your December Daily? There is lots of inspiration worth checking out over at Let's December Daily
So I left off with Thanksgiving day the last time I posted. Today is about Black Friday, a special birthday and November 29th. (Heavily photos post)
Black Friday is the day Dave and I go out shopping for gifts for the family, it seems to be a tradition for us and the only day we knew we both be off of work. We don't do the early sales but we head out around 9am and start shoppin'. We start off our day looking at all the sale flyers first while having our coffee.
We make notes of what we need to stop and get. Pictures from the actual ads are on my page.
I took a photo of the pile of papers on the page too are some cut ups of the logos of some of the places we stopped at.
The title for this page actually came from one of the ads it was perfect for the page. This is Dave and I leaving Sears with the girls gifts in hand. My journaling and the date stamped.
The trunk of the car so far. the Cha Ching was already on the page, a nice touch :)
That evening we went over to wish our Grandson a Happy Birthday (Nov. 26th is the actual day) Tristan is our Thanksgiving Baby you might as well say and with that Brad and Katherine decided no big party, so this was the chosen day for us to see him. Tristan has taken to Pappy very well :) and he's doing real good at opening his gift by himself too.
The journaling and Tristan opening up his gift, a piggy bank.

Nov 29 is a leftovers meal and I found this recipe in the paper for the left overs, have to say it wasn't to bad and I think we'll be having it each year unless another recipe comes along and I give it a try. Dave picked up some things for the boys for Christmas today, too. I used my Feast of Fun counterfeit kit for this page.
A closer look of the page, with the recipe and my journaling. December is right around the corner, but for now this is how far I got. Planning to work on it a bit next week, till then have a great day today :) Stop back tomorrow for the new week challenge over at Lasting Memories.

Dec Daily 2014: Thanksgiving Day

Hello :) I can't believe I got some of the pages done in my Dec Daily 2014 (forewarned this is a photo heavy post) I captured all of Thanksgiving throughout the day on 3 pages, yep I'm that type of scrapper I guess :) but then each of the picture groups tell their own story. I'm not one that starts my Dec Daily the 1st day of December, mine starts Thanksgiving Day through till Jan 1. For lots of inspiration I look to Let's Dec Daily blog, youtube videos and facebook groups.
The inside cover of my Dec Daily has the Baking part of the day:
The full page: Memories of Thanksgiving growing up is the Turkey and the Pumpkin Pie. This is the one day of the year we do have the roasted turkey and my homemade pumpkin pie
A made a fun little pocket to hold the new dressing recipe I tried, the tag from the turkey and my journaling
A close up of the things in the pocket
The next page: We had gotten alot of snow the day before and our crazy dog (love him!) was trying to play with his basketball in the snow :) I knew I had to add this to the Dec Daily:
The full page :) This was fun to put together and glad to use up some old wintery embellishments in my stash
My journaling and some fun cutouts I got in a prize pack
My crazy dog Buddy :) When you don't have kids around anymore, then the focus of winter fun goes to the dog!
The full page and a glimpse of the next page that I will be keeping the page alone for now Thinking it's a good title page to get into the Christmas magic :)
The Thanksgiving dinner and my brother Steve :) We invite him every year it's a tradition for us that started with inviting my Mom and him since Dave and I got married, we have kept this going with Steve :) We also invite Daleane his wife/my SIL but she's usually working that day. The layer pieces are cut aparts that came from the 6X6 paper pad I have in my current counterfeit kit :) Feast of Fun, the choice of background paper is from the kit too
My journaling and a picture of the phone call we had with my sister Patty done on speaker so we could all have fun chatting with her :) I think we may have started a new Thanksgiving Tradition :) I never thought I was never going to use that phone sticker and when then I came across it! Sweet I can use it here.
Whew :) Thanksgiving Day 2014 documented :) It's gonna be intersting as I go thru this book, if I'm gonna have enough pages for the daily photos :) Some days have 2 or 3 events going on :) Hmmmm I guess I'll have to wait and see :) Thanks for stopping by today and seeing the view from my little corner of the world.
Will you be doing a Dec Daily this year? What approach are you going to be doing?

December Daily 2014 Organization

Hi you all, I've been a bit busy the past few days working on that big bag of stuff for my 2014 December Daily :) With a little crafty nudging from the girls at Let's December Daily I have stayed on top of this part of the process.
The before:
This bag contained most of the stuff that I had saved back from the 2014 holidays :) other than the photos they were in another box. I'm really wanting to catch up on my Dec Dailys (shhhh: I have 2 others boxed up that need done. shhhhh) But I made a commitment to myself that I wouldn't even consider doing 2015 unless 2014 was done :) So the nudging has worked :)
So Monday night while watching TV I got all the stuff separated from the bag:
This bag contains all the wrapping paper and shopping bags that I would like to add some to the pages.
This box contains: Receipts, Gift Cards, Dec Daily ideas, Christmas Cards received, and any other thing made or received that month :)
This box contains all the papers, tags. enamel dots, journal cards, rubons, and other things to decorate my pages with :)
So that is everything that was in that bag separated so it's more usable easier to access too.
I also manged to keep the original embellishment container together that has the washi, embossing powders, tapes, ribbon, twines and anything else related to the season and the holiday.
While I was looking for some Alphas/Numbers to have available I also pulled some extra papers and other fun goodies to use if needed. I know that I have pictures that won't make it into the Dec Daily so this way I can scrap them along the way and I have enough of some that I could probably add to my PL book too. So with this pile and the add on kit I made for my current counterfeit kit I should have enough that I don't need to dig for anything else :) (This I gathered up last night)
Tuesday night I tackled sorting the pictures taken from Oct through Dec 2014 that I had printed during one of Snapfish sales last year:
I thought I had some printed from Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but I have not found them yet Yes! they are found in the actual book I'm using, in an envelope waitin to be done :) So I now have this on schedule for this weekend to work on it a bit. I will also be working on it, on the nights that I watch TV, while I'm watching TV :)
Fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by today to check out my little corner of the world.... Are you getting your Dec Daily for this year or any previous years around to work on? So much inspiration over at Let's December Daily :)

Dec Daily 2014 Intentions

Yep, you read that correctly :) I'm still working on my 2014 Dec Daily... hmm and still have 2012 and 2013 waiting to be finished. I just may have to consider not working on this year's till these past projects are done :) But I could still get the photos and the stories taken care off  :) So I get and email from Let's December Daily and thought oh cool now I got inspiration to get it done. So this is one of my intentions for November to work on my Dec. Daily while the Christmas paper and goodies are out for crafting tags and cards.
This is the book I started last year and will work on that:
This is my bag of goodies from last year that I kept together for the book:
It's full of Memorabilia from the month, photos, cards, and any favorite embellishments I received on my gifts :)
This is my additional add on kit to this month's CKC so I have plenty to use for the book. If you like to Dec. Daily you may want to join in too for lots of fun and inspiration. There are 4 girls that do the blog and they all each have a different outlook or their Dec Daily so lots of different inspiration too.

2014 December Daily Covers

Hi you all and welcome, tis the season for a cold I found out :) Feeling a bit better today but yesterday I was recliner bound. I did find out that youtube is a great comfort when your not feeling well :) I started watching the Glitter Girl series (I'm surprised I hadn't watched it sooner she's got some great ideas :) Last night I was finally starting to feel better enough to do something crafty on the small scale so I decided to get my covers done for this year's December Daily.
I try to keep as much of the original gold print on the cover that I possibly could and still did some of my own thing on the cover. So I got this little Christmas kit in an early swap box and made sure that it was in the kit to get used up I had planed to use it for the covers. So most of the pieces had been used for the covers. I added a border of washi tape, a border of that scrap green paper from the card I made last week and a scrap from a border strip that I used in the past week. The alphas all came from my current kit, the bits and pieces came from the little swap kit. I thought the tag would be a nice place to put the year and I wrapped around the green glitter string like you would on a tree.
The back cover:
So the back cover includes this fun placemat I got over the summer with a bunch of doilies I bought at a flea market (the lady want to get rid of everything in the bag so gave it to me for a couple of bucks, she did not know how big doilies are in scrapping right now) it included these placemats, doilies in various shapes and sizes and some other mats too. You'll see a few throughout making the daily and maybe some layouts too this month. I included more of the tape from the front and the larger card that was in the kit and a few little pieces. The season greetings sticker I put crackle accents on it to make for a flair button, but the crackle does things different than the glossy accents. You can't see the writing but you can see the red and the crackle makes it look like a snow flake so I'm good with the way it turned out. Guess I best just use the crackle for glue to get it out of my stash.
A close up of the front bottom section. I've got a few more pieces left to the little kit and will use it in the daily or on a layout there is one large block that will be great for a title block on a layout.
and a close up of the top.
I'm so glad that I got to get this part accomplished and looking forward to filling in the inside. I haven't been taking many pictures but have ideas and there are challenges to tackle for the days I don't have pictures for. I've got 3 things to tackle this week and get crossed off my list and then I can start getting really crafty so till then have a fun week and enjoy the season :)
I'll be linkying this to Let's December Daily for their covers link up

My December 2014 Kit

Hi you all and welcome to my blog. Lots going on this month with shopping, baking, checking out the local Christmas events, decorating and visiting. December can be a very busy month and with this year of having a different job than past years I think that I'll have more free time to enjoy it. So there are many blogs, yahoo groups and facebook groups dedicated to the happenings of December (I'll give you the list of the ones I'm following this year at the end of the post:) That I thought the easiest way to get through the month and enjoy it is by preparing a kit to work with all month. (something that Counterfeit Kit Challenge has ingrained on me through following them this past year shows me that I get more done when I have a kit. So this time around I did my own kit:
This is my December Daily kit in a box. It includes a holiday smashbook that I'm looking forward to doing the covers this weekend and try to catch up on some of the pages on Sunday. I've also have die cuts, a stamp set, christmas papers, stickers, bling and some tape to add in with the fun of the book :)
This is a Christmas card workshop on the go set I got from Close to my Heart last year and I'll be putting that to work this weekend creating any other cards I need to send out and tags for the gifts this year. I figure there is NO reason to hoard it and I need to get it used up this year :)
Now it will start getting photo heavy, this is everything that I gathered over the weekend to get what I wanted for my Dec Daily know full well that it's better to have it all available instead of wasting time looking for it when I want it.
I found this box of glitter goodness when I was digging out my Dec Daily box. It has lots of gold and silver trims that I must have gotten at an auction years ago so glad that it will make it's debut this month.
I've pulled out some fun 6X6 paper pads and 6X4 mat stacks for some glittery fun this month with die cutting and photo matting.
I've pulled out all my Christmas embossing folders and looking forward to see what they might do with some of the glittery paper in the above picture.
As I was digging for the 6X6 paper pads I come across some of this stuff and I also went through my basket of small goodies that I recently purchased just for this month. The lower right hand corner ppack is from SU sensational snapshot PL accessory pack. I liked it so much I ordered it again for next year. Just lots of little goodies with sequins, enamel dots washi tape, flair buttons, photo overlays and 4X6 cards.
This here is more bits and pieces I pulled out for crafting this month :)

Some papers from last month's kit that never got used that will be perfect for this month :)
I also pulled out my glitter and foil 12X12 papers for any extra die cutting or for scrapbook layouts layering and bordering :) Yep located some old Christmas pictures that I want to scrap this month while the paper is out (I'm off that final week of Dec so I can see that being a catch up week for any scrapping I have missed :)
My iris box of Christmas embellishments. Looking to put in a good dent in this box over the month.
My iris box of Christmas paper already to be used.
Stickles that I want to use this month and I found this wooden arrow on my craft desk so I added that too the kit.
Some stamp pads, washi and glitter tape, some embossing powder (I've pulled some red and blue since this photo was taken) and a pack of snowflakes I found to use on some cards or layouts.
My Christmas Stamp collection ready to be used
I also remembered a box of Dazzles kits I had and I pulled out any that referred to Christmas so I'll be using that also for cards this month, layouts and maybe in my daily. I've decide that next year I will grab at least one of those kits each month and get them used one way or another in my crafting. Just have way to many kits to be hanging around and not being used so I think next year will be heavily kit scrapping for the year to get them out of my stash :)

So that is what my December entails :) These are the groups that I'm following that have many challenges with Dec Dailys this month:
FB: Smash your Stash has a Dec daily list to smash each day
FB: December Daily Smash is what it's all about and an event on facebook for the month to keep us accountable for doing it
FB: Simple Scrappers Holiday Focus to keep you focus on your December Daily/Scrapbook crafting
Counterfeit Kit Challenge has have a month of card making and from what I seen so far the girls have out done themselves with lots of inspiration.
Let's December Daily: A fun blog that I just come across this year and talk about lots of December Daily inspiration, I'm in awe with some of the things shown
I've joined a new group on FB: nicolejones911 and it's a fun crafting group to get it done and they are focusing on the December Daily this month
Lots of scrapping challenges over at Scrappin n Chattin yahoo group
Then there are all the challenge blogs that I follow for lots of challenges this month :)

So I expect that this is gonna be a fun crafting month and I hope it slows down just a bit to enjoy the holiday festivities too. This weekend looks like a small town close to use is having an Olde Time Christmas festival taking place and I'm looking foward to checking that out and next weekend is the Polar Express train ride that certainly looks like fun :) So I'm off to work, but will be back tomorrow with a card. Enjoy your holiday season and remember why we do celebrate it as we enjoy the Christmas lights of the year, we have to look forward to that one light that guides us through our life now and forever.....
