A Unique Anniversary-CCChallenge: Love—Anything to do with it

Good morning and welcome to my blog, I'm one of the designers over at Creative Cutting Challenge and it's all about love this challenge. So my post is about love :) So I decided to have a bit of fun with it and smash a couple of pages about the Anniversary gifts my husband and I got each other last year. Lol: Great Minds Think ALike:

This fun 2-page layout was done in my 50th year themed-365 folio smashbook. This came about by we each got each other the same gift, a night out for our Anniversary. Our favorite is Chinese food, so I thought that Creative Pointe's Chinese Take Out kit was perfect for accenting the pages.
Chinese Take Out - Click Image to Close
We both chose to do the same thing for each other for our big 20th Anniversary.  Dave decided to surprise me on May 18th with stopping at our favorite Buffet Restaurant in Shamokin Dam on our way home from a show we attend every year for our Anniversary. So the left side of the page shows that day.

The top of the page I have included the date off of the paper from the fortune cookie. The bottom part of the page has a picture of the water fountain that you see when you walk into the place. This place has been our favorite for a long time and we frequent it alot when we are out this way. Lots of love on this page and a fun set of chopsticks from the kit too.
I had decided a month back to take Dave out on our Anniversary May 22 to the new buffet restaurant that just recently opened up. So the 2nd page is dedicated to that :
Creative Pointe's cuts made nice accent pieces for both pages, I used the fortune cookies for displaying the date and the fortunes that I was able to stow in my pocket for this layout. the new place even gave the women a rose when they walked in a very nice touch and I added that to the layout also.
The heart doily, the journal sticker, the date sticker, the variety of vellum spots and the vellum hearts background, the scallop pink edge sticker, the happiness sticker, and the 20th all came from my new Feb. Counterfeit Kit also the peachy cardstock used for the strips of paper coming out of the fortune cookies came from the kit too.The tan and brown cardstock for the cookies and the chopsticks came from my stash.
This also is Challenge #28: Double Love from Smash your Stash FB group
This was fun to make and a great memory of a very unique Anniversary :)

Have a fantastic day! We love to have you join in on the challenge: The rules are:

Top Smaher Challenge #1

Good Day to you! I have joined in on a challenge event on FB called Top Smasher (based off Top Chef, sorry never seen it) This is my submission for this past week's challenge:
The challenge: TOP CHEF CHALLENGE 1 : Red, pink, glitter, letter stickers and stars!
As soon as I seen the challenge I knew exactly what pics I wanted to smash. I think I got all the ingredients covered and I also used parts of my counterfeit kit to make the 2-page spread-that's a win-win for me :)
Up close shots:
From the kit I used the pink hexagon paper for a border, red back ground paper that I brought into the kit later, the best friends came from the one cut out sheet, and the flower came from the die-cuts I gathered up. Added was the stars needed for the Top Smasher challenge.
The black glitter lettering and hearts was brought in for the Top Smasher challenge too, the red arrow came from some of the items I puled for the kit
This page has attached to the red pattern background paper the booklet we got from the show. I attached the tickets that we received on it and a up-close picture of Isabelle all dressed up and ready to dance :) The journaling tag came from the same cut up paper as the Best friends tag, added a vellum tag for one of the sheets I had chosen for the kit. Added another star and some pick gems for the Top Smasher part of the challenge.

See that tab-that tab (which is in pink for the Top Smasher challenge) opens to the page that has mention of the dance they are performing, hence the title of the 2 pages and :
to a page that has another picture that pointed out Isabelle by way of some post it notes that I got in a package from Walmart that is from EK Success that has lots of goodies (note pad, post-its and stickers). Hidden under the tickets the name of the challenge and the date I smashed it.
Bullet the write up with pink stickles. The pages were done in my green-eco smash book that I have dedicated to the grandkids functions. Just love how this turned out and it was great to do some smashing again. Now the 2nd challenge is a bit more trickery  and has for one of the ingredients a Shakespeare quote, so I'm off to Google to find one I like, and work from there.

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing the view form my little corner of the world and don't forget to sign up for the goodie giveaway you need to comment on that post and become a follower: to enter for the blog follower giveaway there is a few weeks to go and I'm gathering stuff for the box each day.

Hobby Day 5 Smash

Well this challenge was a no brainer, lol. Hobby was a pretty easy page to do, since I enjoy paper crafts for my hobby I covered the 4 that I enjoy with these 2 pages
As I've been going page by page in this particular smash book, I couldn't have asked for a better page for this theme. I enjoy Scrapbooking (traditonal and digital), Cardmaking and Smashing and they are all included in this layout. It was done in a smashbook (got that covered!), the top left portion of the page shows the very first digital scrapbook layout I did and now it's a hybrid scrap with adding some traditional scrapping included. The bottom left includes a card that I did in a class learning a new technique of resist embossing (which was so cool to learn).
The right side page, I enhanced the page with words of my guilty pleasures of my hobby of paper crafts, one I enjoy doing each day a little something with crafting. It was a really fun page to do. Looking forward to sharing with you all 2 pages I have been researching a bit to do the pages (a quirk to my personality to research before I do it)
Now I have another paper craft that I enjoy, Project Life and can't wait to share with you what I have been doing with that.
Thanks for stopping by today and seeing the view from my little corner of the world....

Favorite Place Day 4 Smash

Hi you all and Happy St. Patricks day to you! Were having our 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt today, love spending time with the grand kids!
Today I thought I would bring another one of my loves: My scraproom. The favorite place day 4 smash challenge was so easy, my favorite room in the house is where I can go relax and create anything my mind can think of.
This page was created May 12, 2012 and the pictures were of the current state of the room. But the page tells it all, a place to get cheap thrills and lots of fun, where I can inspire, dream and create, this is my happy place and my favorite place. I used a variety of elements in the page stickers, chipboard letters, ribbon, washi tape and some journaling.
Do you have that favorite place you like to go, your own happy place. I hope you do and thanks for stopping by and actually seeing my little corner of the world, have a great day!

Favorite Animal Smash page

Sorry you all running a little late today on posting, I seem to be struggling with the time change.

Looking through my Smash books posts found that there are a few I never posted on, wow that is a surprise. Thought I would have been all over this since it's one of my favorite things to do. This 2-page spread came about from a challenge that I was working on, still in process of finishing it, but here is Day 2: Favorite Animal. My favorite animal will always be a dog of some sort or breed, while growing up we always had dogs at home, but that is for another day and another page. For this one, my favorite animal are the boys we got at home now and their particular breed:
These are our boys Jake and Buddy and on the left page is a printout of what breed they are and explains about the breed: Australian Cattle Dog specifically they are Blue Heelers. In PA this breed is unusual, but as of late more people know of the breed as people bring them in from other states. I surrounded the write up with descriptive trait words of the breed that I did with my brother label maker, the included arrow is from Close to my Heart that is pointing towards the picture. The picture is surrounded by bits and pieces from my stash, scraps of paper from other projects, ribbon, and stickers from sticker sheets I imagine that are in the dog paper drawer, yes I have a specific drawer for the dogs. I thought it turned out well and sums up the breed well to.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view for my little corner of the world, have a fabulous day!

Smash your Stash: Challenge 3

Good morning hope your having a fantastic day! We just had the best weekend by the way of weather for this year, I think spring finally shown up. It was absolutely gorgeous with temps close to 60 and sun sun sun all day! Enough of the weather and on to the challenge:
Challenge 3: your nicknames, we all have them...time to SMASH them....but here's the twist, all elements must be in your favorite colour :) So the challenge is your nicknames and your favorite colours!!!!!!
What is a nick name:
1. A descriptive name added to or replacing the actual name of a person, place, or thing.
2. A familiar or shortened form of a proper name.
Since my name could be the nickname of other names, I feel I was already born with a nick name. The page was smashed in my Black: Book About Me smashbook. My fav colors are purple and gold. All the various names were cut from the cricut: from top to bottom: baby 1" Child's Year the negative of the scallop oval, Gram 1.75" Jasmine, honey 1" @ real size w/ the Just Because, Mom 2" Mother's Day, Sis .75" Don Juan regular font, Mommy 1.5" Heritage and Cous 1" Don Juan under pressure font. The purple cutout behind the smash sheet was in my scrap drawer, this is from a calender I received one year and I'm unsure the cart that it was cut from. The smash book page is from the family pack. The flowers are from 2 different companies that I have in my stash.
It was fun and interesting to put this together. It took a while to cut all the words out with changing out the carts and using the different fonts.
Hey you all have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world.

Smash your Stash Challenge #2

Hi all, now today's post makes the Smash your Stash caught up and you'll see it just once a week. This weeks challenge was:
Challenge 2: ribbon, twine, washi tape .. Use these to make a border around your page.. Then a journal tag, and make the page about what you'd eat as your last supper! Bonus points for recipe incorporated into the page!

I did this page in my Blue Retro Smash book. I think I followed the challenge pretty good including the bonus points for the recipe. This is my favorite Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe, it's a Bisquick recipe. My choice for a last meal though would be the local Chinese buffet so I can have a little bit of everything.
Closer looks of the page: above and below
It's been an absolute blast to be back in my smash books. I have my own facebook group page named after my blog, a place where my smashy friends can hang out. I started a weekly challenge too at the beginning of the year with a year end prize giveaway, now I can't win my own prize but I can do the pages along with everyone else that is doing the challenges, so you'll see those pages real soon on the blog too. This one is one of them: week #9 challenge: One of your favorite photos.
Hey you all have the best day and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world.

Smash Your Stash Challenge

Hi everyone,
Wow back to back posts, is this a joke! Absolutely not, I decided over this past weekend to really work on my goals and I've seen others do a post each day so I'm gonna give this a try. With March being National Craft Month, I would like to accomplish something crafty each day this month even if it's just prep work for a page or card, then I'm doing something crafty.
Another cool Smash group started on Facebook recently called Smash Your Stash, so far it's been a great group. So for the first challenge we had to use the oldest piece of pattern scrap paper that we have and some lettering stickers:

This is my fav picture of my parents. The paper came from my 1st paper pack I got, the flower pieces came from my very first tote scrapbook kit that I received as a gift from the ladies that introduced me to scrapbooking. The picture is late 1958 early 1959. I used the Brown nostalgia book for this page. Got the book in a swap and just fell in love with it and it will be a cool one for all my old pics.
Hey you all have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by my small corner of this big world.

A SMASH*aholics Challenge

There is a challenge that I'm getting into with the facebook group SMASH*aholics
it's a 30 day challenge but you can do whichever day when you want and in no particuliar order. Also I'll be working on another challenge in a yahoo group that I belong with too and some of the layouts/pages that I do I should be able to mix together. It's gonna be a busy summer I think but I may get alot of scraping/smashing done in the process. Here is the first page I got done for the challenge so far. Day 2-Washi Tape:

Bathtime for the boys! They tolerate it. But once in awhile if they come across the wrong thing they will beat me going up the steps to get a bath! I thought this would be a good one for this challenge and I used it for another challenge on another FB group for a page about pets.
Below is a pic of the challenge and my frame of mind is to complete the challenge but it may take all summer to do it, LOL
Thanks for joining me today and I look forward to seeing what you may be smashing if you leave a comment and a blogspot I'll come take a look. Have a fantastic day and stay cool if you can.....

SMASH*ing Summer Challenge

Hi all, Wow it's been super busy and I lucked out and had a day full of crafting, finally! The FB group SMASH*Addicts put up a Smashing Summer challenge this weekend:
The theme for this challenge is to do a 2-page spread on summer. You can show what you love about summer, what you do during the summer, what is best in summer, where you go, what you wear, what you eat ... that's it -- anything to do with summer.
So here was my entry, but I didn't make the deadline in time:
But I had alot of fun making the pages and remembering the trip.

I decided to use my orange SMASH* book for the travels that my husband and I have been on and will be going too. I'm looking forward to getting the past trips in here and to be totally ready for the future trips ahead.
This particular trip was a 3 day weekend starting with Friday Aug. 6, 2004 at a local tractor show. Saturday morning we went to the antique tractor show in Portersville, PA (it was a lot of fun and that will have some smash pages too). Sunday was planned to go Titusville, Pa and ride the train (I think we got the info about it at a rest stop). My husband loves trains, in fact his love for trains is so strong that our house is situated in front of a set of tracks (but that is another story too). After the train ride we attempted to see the Drake Well Museum, but alas......
That story will continue on another set of pages soon.
Thanks for stopping by and if you ain't heard of SMASH*ing you may want to check out Google and find out about it's coolness!

Challenge Accepted

Hi all I hope your having a smashing day.
I recently started a challenge that was posted on the FB group SMASH*aholics, now I have had this challenge on my Pintertest Smash/Journal Board for a couple months now. But I seen it here on this group and thought this would be fun to do and this is what got me started in one of my Smash Books.
So I started my blue retro smash book for this challenge, I got the book from Two Peas in a Bucket on the for sale board, the binding was a bit beat up so I thought that it would be a good one to use for challenges. Now my plan is to do the 30 day challenge, but not day by day. Shoot if I did that I never get any work done and I need to work to be able to buy all the things I want, LOL!

So this is my finished page for Day 1: Yourself:
I really enjoyed putting this layout together. I didn't care much for the page paper on these 2 pages so I added my own. That is the beauty of smashing you just do what you want it's all about you.

So what are you smashing and if you aren't what are you waiting for! I hope you have a smashing day!

Smashing Challenge

Hello everyone!!  Have you gotten into the new craze of smashing yet? I have and  I wanted to share with you a layout in my Smash book for a challenge on one of the Facebook Smash groups that I joined.  The challenge was to use either or all of the following-twine, lace, ribbon or fabric.

Here is what I came up with.
With this challenge I started a Red Smash book and will use it for pieces of my life and  I look forward to sharing it with you.
Have a fantastic smashing day!
