So Cute Playing Together for a Use Your Stuff Challenge

This week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog is Challenge #275:  For the Love of Children: Got lots of pictures of the Grandkids to scrap, doing it one layout at a time

Our youngest grandsons, brothers they are, they do enjoy playing together.

This layout was made during Calvinball 2016. What makes Calvinball so fun is that there is rules to use to count the points for a layout, during the month the one with the most points will win bragging rights :) This is what I used for this layout. Using 15 different elements on a page, Use something in your stash that is at least two years old, Use patterned paper only on your page, Use your own handwriting - title or journaling, Using more than 5 pieces of patterned paper, Using 3 different fonts on one project, Use something shiny on your page - bling: silver triangle studs and star sequins, Use a dark background,
Points: 8 March 2016

A Day in May

Good Morning and welcome :) Today we have a new week of challenge over at Lasting Memories and this is the last week for the August challenges too. The challenge is Summer Days - Use colors of photo for inspiration. "Day Colors"

So pretty, I love to look at flowers and that is what my layout is A Day In May:
The vellum background is perfect compliment to the photo and the flowers. Lovely tulips and dogwoods are the focus of the layout
I had fun with the title using 2 different fonts and lots of sequins and paper flowers
A layout created for Nicole Jones Demystifying Clustering class and this was also made in March for Calvinball :) Hence the song lyrics was for that. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see your creation over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenges.

Our theme for July is "Childhood Games". Each week you will make your layout based on the photo/game provided. Our first challenge is "Marbles". Here is your inspiration photo:

My inspiration from the challenge picture was the colors and the cluster of marbles:
I did this during a class with Nicole Jones Demystifying Clustering class and taking a bunch of the same things and clustering them around the picture. Me I did it around the vellum quote I found :) with the thought in mind and the inspirational picture from lasting memories thought it was a great combination for the layout :)
Donna is one of my bestest friends we met through our Antique Tractor club and instantly became friends and we have alot in common too :) So when I had my husband take this picture of us together I knew that friendship was the fitting story here for the layout. I used some of my March Counterfeit Kit Camera Crazy for this layout.
Close ups of the layout:

Practice Makes Awesome

Hi you all :) Well Calvinball is winding down :) It was a blast and lots of talk over at Get It Scrapped about doing it again in July :) That would be fun I could do Christmas in July and get all those Christmas Layouts and projects done then :) I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. I did get my Demystifying Clustering class with Nicole Jones completed and preparing to start Ready, Sketch, Go! a collaboration with Tracie Claiborne and Jen Schow. I've got the 1st layout from the 1st sketch started :)
A fun layout of Waylon at the bowling alley, Sabrina and a friend of her's went :) My word the Sabrina is amazing going bowling will carrying her twins! Looks like by the score Waylon did pretty darn good :)
This layout was inspired by Scrapbook Challenges: Sketch 197 – Updated
 197
I really like how it turned out and the fun swirl piece across the photo was a negative cut from the silhouette that has been hanging around my craft desk, so cool to add it to the layout.
Looks like he's in the zone :)
 Splatters scattered about the layout
The journaling :) It was a fun layout to do :) Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm doing in my little corner of the world

Derby for the Lasting Memories layout challenge

Good Morning and Happy Easter to you. I went to a beautiful church service this morning at the church that I got married in, it was wonderful to be back in the chapel for the Lord this time. I've been going through some christian changes and looking to attend a church that is closer to me on my side of the river. It's been a long 2 years since I stepped into church for a Sunday Service, I go each week for bible study on Wednesdays so I'm usually in church each week. It's a journey, but one that I need to do. I hope your Easter was a good one today too.
The latest challenge is up over at Lasting Memories today, and it is the final challenge of this month. Our theme this month has been "Welcome to the Oscars" and our last challenge is - "And the award goes to..." This could mean sports, trophies, school awards, etc. I found this picture in my stash of printed photos and I have many that would fit this challenge, I decided to do this one.
Elias, our grandson, he is the 2nd son of Albert's family. We were so proud t o see this picture on FB, we are always so proud to see the grandkids achieve in their life. So that day Elias was the star, winning that trophy.
I had inspiration for my layout from Whimsical Musings Challenge #124 - Inspired by stars, constellations, or the night sky I was very inspired by stars for my layout. i was also inspired by my Demystifying Clustering class by Nicole Jones this was lesson #13, just a couple more to go :) It's been a fun class and so glad to be learning so much about clustering. Also inspired by Calvinball :) with that I make sure I add things to increase my points :) and then I get inspiration from my counterfeit kit Camera Crazy. That is what is great about scrapbooking there is so many places to look for inspiration for layouts.
Close up of Elias and that trophy :) Plus 2 clusters: large one on top and the small one on the bottom
The journaling spot, love having cutaparts in the kit, they are great for this kind of thing too. That 1st place ribbon was in the stamps that I included in this month's kit. It was done with heat embossing with gold embossing powder. It was s fun addition to the layout
The top cluster is the medium cluster. Thank you for stopping by today and see what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing what you create this week for this challenge. All Challenges end on 4/1/16

& Having Fun

Hello again :) Not sure how I missed this one :)  while I was blogging in the order that I was making the layouts. I made this one from Nicole's Demystifying Clustering class, this was the lesson before the one I just posted. This is my husband Dave and our grandson Zachary having a very special moment. Dave got out a harmonica and showed Zachary how to play it. The 2nd photo is Dave saying "Hey you got it!" Zachary sure was having fun with it.
Love this layout :) Has to be one of my favorite pictures of Dave and Zachary together, it took a long time for Zachary to warm up to Pappy and so glad to see these moments. It was fun to use embellishments from a school kit and use it on a layout like this, learning as we grow in life :) I followed Nicole's layout format that she did on my layout. I added a bit more mist than what she did so I had to back it with cardstock so it wasn't to overly wavy. Yep, I'm learning as I go too.
Isn't this just the cutest picture of these 2 having so much fun :) I used mainly last month's and January's  counterfeit kits Color Splash and Brighter Year Ahead for this layout. Papers from the January kit and embellishments from the February kit :) I also used the prompt  Challenge #17 - Inspired by photos we love Love this photo :) not sure why it took me so long to scrap it :p
the top corner cluster
the smallest cluster but it had that big chipboard piece so thought that was sufficient :) but I added a couple more pieces to the cluster
The last cluster also includes the title. Love how they are having fun and that made for a good title for the layout too. See you all later this weekend :) Another layout for Calvinball too :)

You & Me

Trying to play a little catch up on posting layouts I have made from Nicole's Demystifying Clustering class, while taking a bit of a break from crafting at this moment :) This layout is of the younger grandboys, Zachary and Tristan. Mom took them to a place called Hooplas here near the Mall that just caters to games and they have a miniature golf course too.  This picture was so cool when I seen Katherine post it on Facebook so I grabbed it and it was the right one to use for this lesson that Nicole was doing in the class #7. I loved how she had you bring it out along a line like that, a style I would not thought to do :)
This was a fun layout to do :) Cool picture of the boys also :) I used some of my counterfeit kits: Camera Crazy and Color Splash for the layout. What was fun about this class you first start out the class making a kit :) So I incorporated alot of my February kit into the kit for this class and from this class I'm learning what I can do with my counterfeit kits so I can scrap just a bit faster :)
A close up of the boys and the smallest cluster
 The journaling spot
 The top corner cluster
This last photo is the title work with the largest cluster. Just a fun layout to do and will give this style a go again. With all my layouts this month I have been inspired by a prompt over at Whimsical Musings: Challenge #5 - Inspired by Anthropologie
for this challenge they gave you like a moodboard to work with. The bold color of the sweater is like the bold color of the ride that Zachary is riding. the block remind of the blocks on the board to like fading away from the main picture :). Also lots of words on the layout like they have on the left side of the mood board.
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :)

Be You as in Be You tiful

Hi you all :) yep midweek and I'm posting, yay :) I hope your week so far has been going well, mine's okay. This layout is from Class #5 for Demystifying Clustering class with Nicole Jones. When I seen this paper while making my kit I knew I wanted to get it used and out of my black paper drawer. I intentionally die-cut the paper the way I did so I could use again and when I went through some old photos to be scrapped during this class I came across this one of Isabelle and knew it was the one for that title.
This is our Isabelle :) This girl marches to her own drum too. Inspired by the prompt over at Whimsical Musings too, inspired by little girls. Yes she is inspiring, unique, beautiful and special is just naming a few words that make up Isabelle.
This layout worked out well for this class too, not quite what Nicole did but the same style layout was achieved from what she did. I'm really enjoying the clustering class and how the clusters really emphasize the photo more :) The black pinstripe paper was in an old counterfeit kit from last year, many of the embellishments were in older kits too, but the heart washi tape was in last month's counterfeit kit Color Splash.
This is the bigger cluster withe the journaling spot, oh yes that journaling spot is from this month's counterfeit kit: Camera Crazy. The metal embellishments were in the October extra kits during LOAD last year.
This little cluster draws in that 6X6 paper from Simple Stories So Fancy paper pad.
This cute bottom corner cluster has a fun chipboard banner, as the other clusters had the chipboards too all came from the Maggie Holmes Flea Market chipboard sheet.
The journaling that I added from the facebook post that Andrea had up with the picture. Our little fashionista statement was from me. It was fun to actually use that fashion paper I had that for ages. This is also a Calvinball layout, need to add it to the gallery :) Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too in my little corner of the world.

New Techinique with this Layout

Hi you all :) As I'm following along with Nicole's Demystifying Clustering, I have also been trying what she is doing in here class. For class #4 she did a gesso and inking technique that I have seen alot of it being done on youtube. So thought well might as well give it a try too.
This layout is inspired by Whimsical Musing Challenge #32 - Inspired by a relationship not yet scrapped I'm surprised I had not yet scrapped this relationship between Astacia and Avery they do have a close bond, that is rare to see :) At-least seeing it from my point of view, my relationship with my brothers didn't really blossom till later in life, we were close but not this close :) as friends till we became adults.
Astacia and Avery, Mom and Dad had some special photos done of the grandkids and I just loved this one :) Shows that special relationship that these 2 have :) I used alot of embellishments from my current counterfeit kit Camera Crazy, plus past kits too.
A picture of the new technique, gesso and inking. I had never done that before and finally opened up my container of gesso for the 1st time even after having it in my counterfeit kits many times :) Now I need to get some of the clear gesso like Nicole was using.
The title fit the layout very well :) I have to thank scrapbook.com for that it's a great place to get some title ideas. The medium cluster of the layout is here. For starting with yellow and black for my main color and then adding green in the color of Avery's shirt in the photo was a perfect addition to the layout.
 The journaling spot.
The larger cluster with the frame that I misted in citron color shine, it really gave a cool effect to the white frame :) may have to do some misting to the other frames too. I'm surprised how often I have used this color since I got it for Christmas. Lots of florals and a bow too from the Maggie Holmes Flea market collection, glad to have finally been using the chipboard and bows from that collection.
The smallest cluster with another flower and the yellow color sequins for a splash of bling, doodled a black line along the edge seem to make a nice frame to the layout. This layout was so out of my comfort zone, but was actually a breeze when I was doing it along with the teacher and so easy to do :) Will be doing this again. Thank you for stopping by today and another layout done for Calvinball. I've got a few more to post, maybe tonight or maybe tomorrow we'll see how the rest of the evening goes :)

2 layouts for Calvinball

Hi you all, how is your day today ? It's a bit cool here and it's been raining most of the day. I thought best to do some catch up today :) I've been busy doing my Demystifying Clustering with Nicole Jones and have to say it's been a great class. She too is doing Calvinball so cool that I can do her class and use the layouts for Calvinball. What is Calvinball? It's a blast! That is one thing that it is :) Everybody on the forum seems to be having fun and the rules oh my you have to check each day to see what is different and added to the rules :) If your interested you can find out more about it here: Calvinball over at Get It Scrapped Debbie Hodges has some fantastic classes too, a very worthwhile membership.
Here are a couple of the layouts I've done so far this was the 1st layout I did with Nicole's class. What I've been doing is lifting her layouts majority of the time other than a few additions of my own. I used 2 photos in this layout and a different placement of my title.
This layout was also inspired by Whimsical Musings Challenge #36 - Inspired by the Earth This layout also used some old counterfeit kit elements and some from the current kit Camera Crazy.
I have been enjoying the learning of clustering from Nicole, she makes it so easy to understand it. I used mainly the pinks color to this layout, but brought in some of the teal with the ticket element and that made a nice title effect to the layout too.
Lots of cut aparts are used in the class, stickers and die-cuts make for nice clusters.
This is my largest cluster and includes my journaling spot too. I have a puffy sticker in each cluster and the sequins too.
My 2nd layout is from her 3rd class: Nifty
My Grandson, Avery, and his boy scout group doing their community project. I was able to snag this photo and the journaling from the American Legion's Facebook Page. So this fits right into the Whimsical Musings  Challenge #9 Inspired by the voice of others (- copying facebook statuses or wall posts)
This layout also includes some elements from my current counterfeit kit Camera Crazy and some of last month's kit Color Splash for the paper. A fun little cluster corner here at the top.
Another cluster by the journaling area. Nicole's thoughts on page kitting is like the counterfeit kitting too. You make the kits for each page and just about any picture would fit that kit. When I added the picture to the kit I added the star paper and the wood veneer stars, other than that the rest was in the page kit.
The journaling and the title cluster :) That sticker with the people hand and hand was perfect for the layout :) this was another layout that I followed along with what she did in her class
