We Like Spicy for Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge

Hi you all and welcome! Now we are coming down to the wire and Christmas is next week! Oh my! Still lots to do at our house. Dave and I'll be double teaming today wrapping the Christmas gifts. House cleaning on Monday after taking the dog to the Vet for his annual appt. Decorating throughout the week with any last minute things to get done. The festivities begin at our house on Dec 23rd with a visit from Dave's Sister and her hubby, coming up from Florida to spend the holiday with family. We'll be visiting each day after that till probably the weekend of the New Year. Learn from what we found out this year with both our jobs and do a better at handing the Christmas season next year :) Procrastination isn't working out so well this year for us.
Today is the last challenge over at Lasting Memories for this year so this challenge will be open for 2 weeks. Fairly easy challenge too

ANYTHING GOES - but use photos that are from 2016.

LOAD1016 Day 15: Your Secret Spice:
So! Where do you fall in the “heat” category – mild, well-seasoned, or spicy?
This might play to your favorite food, your personality, or maybe the heat is a hot flash! Use color, boldness, or a clever reference in your title to convey the temperature of the subject you choose to scrap today.
We are definitely Spicy when it comes to food :) Enjoying a bit of the Salsa we made and canned this year.
Just enough heat to know it's there and not burning your mouth. We have a bit of summer in the jar for throughout the winter this year to enjoy! I had used my October Counterfeit kit: Flower Power for the layout and this was also part of the 100 pattern paper challenge with using 4 papers. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up to Lasting Memories :)

She is Fearless! Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge

Good Morning :) and welcome. I apologize for the lax in blogging but it's been a long week at work :) So no time to chat here this past week. Today is Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge blog the challenge this week is:
LM - 322 - Use One Photo
This challenge is from our "All About The Photos" theme from May. Just use one photo on your layout this week.
This is one I created:
Emily our Great-Grandaughter figured out how to use the dog door after watching the dog do it a few times! LOL this girl is something else so much like her Mom :) It's always special to see pictures like this up on facebook as we live in PA and these great grands live in South Dakota. Some day we'll get there to see them :). So this layout came from LOAD1016 Day 17: Wet your Appetite: Misting
Pink and Gold Heidi Swapp color shine mist added to the layout. Pink sprayed on and gold in droplets. Our Great Granddaughter being herself :) She is adventurous. This was a fun layout to do and didn't take to long to put together neither :) 1 sheet a pattern paper, a scrap of vellum paper and a scrap of pattern paper too.
A 3X4 card for the journaling and the circled letters were cut from another pattern paper that had lots of words on it :) Everything came from my October counterfeit kit Flower Power and I used a paper from the 100 paper challenge that I'm working with :) Which is on hold at the moment as I'm working on Christmas craftyness :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see your creation over at Lasting Memories too

Beautiful for the Lasting Memories Layout Challenge

Hello and welcome :) Today is the 1st Challenge for the December challenges over at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog. We are taking on a  "BEST OF 2016" theme to end our year with a bang.  We have picked the most popular challenges and we are duplicating them in hopes you will love to challenge yourself again with these great themes!!
LM 321 - GLITTER and GLAM
This was based off a challenge we did to honor THE OSCARS.  So show us your sparkling and glittering layouts!!
This was a fun theme when we did it the 1st time around and just as fun this time around. With knowing of this challenge prior to LOAD1016, was able to incorporate some of my layouts to also work with the LM challenges too. So this was one of my favorite layouts that I did during LOAD and was fitting for this challenge theme too:
This was done for LOAD1016 Day 13 And For Dessert prompt: We we’re joining in on a challenge from Alison’s blog, Alison Day Designs – sharing her passion for papercrafting & showing you how easy it can be! The layout above was one of many in this post: A Sewing & Fabric Challenge. Visit the link, enjoy her tips, and take the challenge to use fabric on a layout. Alison's has a fun blog and well worth checking out. This day she was doing her version of the 20 project (Shimelle's concept and was a fun class)
I Loved this challenge :) Made me remember some really old fabric paper in my stash and got that out, besides the ribbon and tulle. Wasn't sure what pictures I was using till I started to put that border together and then it dawned on me the pictures to use, but as I was going through the fair pictures I came across these 2 of the home and garden exhibit and knew they were the ones to use for this layout :) Just need to add the date and the layout is done :)
I used my counterfeit kit: Flower Power for this layout and used up that pink fabric paper along with some ribbons and tulle in my stash. Finished off the flowers that was in a cup on my desk :) always glad to get some stash out of my room and on to the page :)
My journaling and more flowers plus and added metal butterfly for more fun texture on the layout. This is not my normal scrapping but it is fun to GLITTER and GLAM it up a bit once in awhile :) Looking forward to seeing your layout linked up to the challenge over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge blog.

Reel Life Story

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge: Triangles. I have 4 of them on this layout:
I made this layout for LOAD 1016 Day 9: The prompt was to use something that made you excited to buy it, but never used it! Haven't we all fall into the scenario :) I've bought lots of stamp sets that have made me excited to get, lots of ideas and then nothing! put it away and never used it! This stamp set I had in many counterfeit kits and still didn't use it, well this day was the day to use it :) and this also is one of the challenges that were for The 20 Project class too (something I need to get back to and finish up :).
I missed out on getting this posted in time for the sketch I used over at GrandDiva's Creative Corner:
It was a really interesting layout to try.
The layout was a couple of pictures I took of the growth of the sweet corn in the garden. the 1st photo was from the back view of the garden and the 2nd photo was almost a month later at the front view, just a different way to look at the garden :) When your summers are of the same things sometimes you got to change it up a bit :) I love to take morning walks with Buddy in the summer after work so my focus is usualy the garden. Close ups:

Thank you for stopping buy today and I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge :) over at Lasting Memories

Wander Out & About - Use Your Stuff #240

Hello and Good Morning :) I have a layout for the challenge over at Use Your Stuff :) Challenge #240 - Fall Y'All and Renee is our Hostess this week. Fall to me is the changing of the colors in the leaves, the cooler temperatures, hoodies and seeing pumpkins everywhere.
This was created for LOAD1016 Day 23 Not Your Momma's Recipe: Today’s “recipe” is the October ScrapHappy sketch!
 23-sketch
A fun sketch to create with indeed, the main thing was to find the photos that would work with those small squares :)
I really love how this all came together. I used my counterfeit kit: Flower Power for this layout and the Go Now Go collection from Shimelle which is featured in this month's inspirational kit over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. I also used a sheet of paper from my 100 pattern paper challenge.
the title came from cutting apart one of the 12 X 12 sheets

My journaling of the day
The hubby looking about :) This was the last place we visited at Ithaca, NY October 9, for my birthday. It certainly was a beautiful fall day and a beautiful spot to see the colors. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see your creation linked up over at Use Your Stuff blog

For this weeks challenge, we are focusing on fall.  What's your favorite thing about fall.  Do a layout, card or spread showcasing all things fall.Link up over at Use Your Stuff

The Good Life

Hello :) This layout is from LOAD1016 Day 6: challenging you to make a paper-pieced embellishment. That I did, pinwheels was a suggestion and that is what I went with :)
These were pictures from the summer last of the flowers we bought to dress up the flower bed out back. Of course we have to stop at times and play with Buddy :) The pinwheels was a fun embellishment to make and thought it gave a whimsical look to the layout. I used last month's counterfeit kit: Flower Power for this, it's also one from the 100 Patterned Paper Challenge and I had used 4 papers for the layout.
I had also used a sketch for the layout. When I had seen this sketch I knew I had to use this pattern paper:
This sketch is from The Memory Nest: Make it Monday No. 73. All I did was flip it to left for the starting on the banner. I used 3 photos inspired by one of the designers had done.
The journaling I put directly on the layout :) It was a pretty good day :)

Needed Photo

LOAD1016 Day 16: Prompt was a mood board, I had used the colors of the mood board for this layout:
During a visit with Brad and Tristan, right before they were leaving, Brad said that Katherine needed a photo of Tristan with a tractor, hmmm wonder what she's up too! But we were happy to obliged and the chosen tractor was right out or front door :) the Allis-Chalmers doesn't get as much photo attention as the Molines do so this was cool to get another one of the tractors in a photo. I journaled both around the photo on the edge of the brown paper and also on the tag spot .
The journaling spot and Dave and I with Tristan
Brad and Tristan
I used sketch #224 over at Sketches in Thyme for this layout :)
This was such a cool layout :) 1 I will use over again :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and also from the 100 patterned paper challenge I used 2 pieces of pattern paper.

Quite the Pair

LOAD1016 Day 11: The Main Course: we will concentrate on the story. I love to take pictures of birds that come to the feeder, we'll I got a story about these 2, quite the Pair they are:
These are a pair of Carolina Wrens and they decided to make a nest out back in our charcoal bisque bag, really! yes really! I was so glad to tell this story from this past year, it was quite and event for awhile. The male protected the nest with loud sharp whistles from the wire that goes from our house to the pole. No easy sleeping for this gal while this was going on. We did alot of research about this bird and come to find out they like to nest near people so next year we will put up a nesting box that I got for Christmas just for them to use :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power for the layout and also was my 100 patterned paper challenge with using up 2 piece of paper and lots of scraps.
In used sketch #223 over at Sketches in Thyme:

Z on the Pedal Tractor

LOAD1016 Day 7 prompt: Using up spent alphas:
Zachary on the pedal tractor that Dave got for Brad, that Brad has passed down to the kids to have fun with. A beautiful fall day in October 2015 I seen this picture on Katherine's FB feed, grabbed it and here it is :) I used my current counterfeit collection : Flower Power and also these papers are from m 100 Patterned Paper Challenge with using 3 papers and lots of scraps for the layering.
This layout was put together with the help of this sketch #222 over at Sketches In Thyme:

A Day At The Museum

Another layout from LOAD1016 Day 26 prompt: Today we were to pay attention to the "sides" of our layout. I was also inspired by the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. Dave went to Ithaca for work and that night he was telling about the city and some of the things going on there. So he basically planned a day out for my Birthday to Ithaca, NY we went up on the Sunday after my Birthday and tried to cram all that could be crammed in that day it a short period of time :) But we had a blast for 6 full hours seeing some of the sights in Ithaca. This was one of the places we wanted to check out when we did an internet search of Ithaca to make some kind of plan for the day.
I took so many photos that day at the Museum of the Earth that I'll have a few layouts from there. This is the starting layout for that section of Ithaca, NY day-trip. I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and I got to use that sticky note that was in the kit along with some wood veneers from The Hello World collection from My Mind's Eye. I used 3 papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge.
 My journaling
Part of the brochure for a sub-title cluster and we got a few pressed pennies from here that were included on the layout. I do look out for things that I can use for layouts when we visit places. Picture of me by way of the window, taking a picture of the one skeleton that will be a future exhibit that is under construction at this time. But we did get to see some of the early bits of this exhibit.
This was the 1st thing you seen when you went into the Museum of the Earth.
The hubby next to one of the statues outside of the Museum. The large title cluster.
The sketch I used #115
I turned it to work for me and my layout, this one is a good one to have around for other layouts :)

I Enjoy

Hello again :) This is the Layout that stared off the month of October. This is from LOAD1016 Day 1 prompt: peck into your pantry (stash) & choose some of your favorite ingredients for this-all-about-you layout:
I had a blast creating this layout :) for the start of LOAD1016 and the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap was the perfect one to use for this. A snapshot of me at this moment in my of my life of what I enjoy. The title came from a challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group for one of their challenges :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Powers and 2 papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge.
The sketch that I used:
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I've been creating a few more posts will be coming soon :) Laundry 1st though :)

This is the Good Life

Some quick blog posts to make sure I get these layouts into their challenges that are ending very shortly over at Let's Get Sketchy.
This is from the sketch of week 4 and LOAD1016 Day 24 prompt was to use texture paste?!! what! yes I have some and yes I never tried any, so went to the scraphappy facebook group and asked how long it dried as I knew I didn't have alot of time to waste. I found a fun stencil to use and got my background taken care of with the texture paste and now I'm wondering why I haven't tried it :) This stuff adds some fun texture to your layout:
My grandkids took these pictures. Avery was begging Mom for her camera and I thought what the heck I'll give him mine for awhile and I was blown away buy the pictures I got from him and his sister Astacia. He is into the wooded things around the year and she is into the flowers. Made for a sweet layout with the help of this sketch:
I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and a few pieces of embellishments that were in a box on my craft desk. This is also part of the pile of papers that I gathered for the 100 Patterned Paper Challenge. Thanks for checking this out :)

Astacia Point Of View

Good Evening :) I came across some challenges over at Shimelle's blog that were posted this weekend and to get the discount on her new class you had to do one of the challenges by midnight tonight! The chosen challenge: Scrapbook the Outdoors. Yep got that accomplished in just the nick of time. I also used my LOAD1016 Day 30 prompt for today's layout. To use the current recipe over at CSI: Case File No. 215:
I've got so many photos from this day, from letting Astacia and Avery have my camera. It was cool to see their points of view that day and the difference in what a girl vs a boy would want a picture. So you will see Avery's at a later date :) The papers used are from my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and this is also part of my 100 Patterned Paper challenge.

For the CSI challenge: Had to use all 5 colors, which most were in the floral print. Choose 3 clues: Flowers/Leaves (paper and photos), rubons, vellum and I used flourishes too. For the journaling I used the inspirational word Grow. This was not done with a sketch :) I guess I'm getting comfortable with grids on a shelf as they call it in this form of the layout. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world.
