Indo-Pacific Aquarium

Hello, and welcome back to another post today for Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenges. This is their last challenge for August and the theme for August has been "All About Animals" and this week our challenge is:
LM #358 - In The Sea - Include an animal from the sea on your layout (fish, dolphin, sea horse, sea turtle, etc.) Can be in the photos, stickers/embellishments, or on the paper.

This is the layout I created for the challenge:
It was cool when we were going through the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY that the one section had this cool Aquarium. For my layout I used my counterfeit kit from last month:  Geometric Splatter. I used a sketch Make it Monday No. 93 from the Memory Nest for my layout:
Cool one to use up some scrap paper
Some of the journaling and the cool embellishments I was able to use :)
The rest of my journaling and my title
 Close up of the photos
I had fun creating this layout and loved that I was able to use a variety of patterns and colors to match what was happening in the tank too with the variety of corals and fish. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I am up to in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenges.

5 Different Pattern Papers for LM Challenge

Good morning and welcome :) today I have a layout for the challenge that our DT sister Sandy challenged us to do this week over at Lasting memories.

LM #337 - Use 5 Different Pattern Papers

with and optional challenge to create a birthday layout.

When I think of using 5 different papers I think of layering and this layout certainly has layers:
This layout was created during LOAD217 this was DAY 18: The 9 Muses
How do you bring culture into your life?
We like to take day road trips and most are usually to go see some kind of history, something we both take pleasure seeing. This layout is created for a day trip album to Ithaca, NY to see the Museum of the Earth, fascinating museum and all the dinosaur skeletons (layouts to do yet) We take trips to Antique Tractor Shows for history in live view and to museums to see what once was.
I used a layout from the Perfect Collection Class for my base for the layout :) This class is a class that I took from Shimelle and I had learned about the class from Tina Gale from My Scrappy Ideas. I'll post about the collection next week. Thinking to use the rest of the paper for the photos for this trip to have it all tie together :) This is one of my goals this year is to work on purchased classes.
I did use a paper from my counterfeit kit in February : A Few of My Favorite Things. this paper I used for my journaling
Used some fun washi tape as the exhibit was still under construction. The Right Whale is fascination to see at the museum and such a cool story on there site as to how they came about getting the skeleton.
Also found some fun chipboard stickers in my stash that worked out perfect for this layout. Who say's that it had to be used for a beach layout :)
I used a few fun stickers that was in my kit that month too. I'm looking forward to working with this collection a bit more for the day trip and get that finished up here real soon. I also found out that the Perfect Collection class is a fast fun way to have your base papers ready for your layouts and makes creating a layout ridiculously fast :) I look forward to seeing your creation over at Lasting Memories. Have a Great Day!

I Saw I Smell layout for Use Your Stuff challenge

Good morning and welcome, Today's challenge over at Use Your Stuff is Challenge # 249 When the Cat's Away the Mice Will Play. Today we have a fun challenge for you....let loose your inner animal!  For this week's challenge we would like your project to have an animal theme...it could be a layout of your pet, or a zoo trip, maybe a card with an animal stamp or if you like mixed media maybe you have a stencil or some paper that has animal print....any way you can incorporate animal into your project will work...
A fun day roadtrip my husband and I took to Ithaca, NY. We crammed as much as we could of the town in 5 hours. Definitely will be going back up in the spring to see more. We got to See and Smell alot of things at the Ithaca Farmers Market by the waterfront, it was really cool to see the birds at the waterfront. and thought that this layout was great for this challenge:
Our Day in Ithaca, we started out with checking out the Farmers Market, so cool too just see and the smells were amazing. Loved seeing the birds at the waterfront to just enjoying the beginning of the day.
This layout was created for LOAD1016 Day 25: The Main Course: Today’s “main course” is your title! with that in mind I created that fun title to my layout using 2 different fonts and the brochure art work for it too. It was just a cool day and a cool experience too.
Close up pics:
Fussy cutting some elements from the brochure we got for the layout
 Journaling
My title work, lots of layers, stickers and lots of cutaparts
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing what you create for this fun challenge.

Speaking of LOAD (Layout A Day) it begins in 2 days! Looking forward to having fun creating from a Greek Mythology theme. Will try to keep up with updating weekly this month on what I created....

Wander Out & About - Use Your Stuff #240

Hello and Good Morning :) I have a layout for the challenge over at Use Your Stuff :) Challenge #240 - Fall Y'All and Renee is our Hostess this week. Fall to me is the changing of the colors in the leaves, the cooler temperatures, hoodies and seeing pumpkins everywhere.
This was created for LOAD1016 Day 23 Not Your Momma's Recipe: Today’s “recipe” is the October ScrapHappy sketch!
 23-sketch
A fun sketch to create with indeed, the main thing was to find the photos that would work with those small squares :)
I really love how this all came together. I used my counterfeit kit: Flower Power for this layout and the Go Now Go collection from Shimelle which is featured in this month's inspirational kit over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. I also used a sheet of paper from my 100 pattern paper challenge.
the title came from cutting apart one of the 12 X 12 sheets

My journaling of the day
The hubby looking about :) This was the last place we visited at Ithaca, NY October 9, for my birthday. It certainly was a beautiful fall day and a beautiful spot to see the colors. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see your creation linked up over at Use Your Stuff blog

For this weeks challenge, we are focusing on fall.  What's your favorite thing about fall.  Do a layout, card or spread showcasing all things fall.Link up over at Use Your Stuff

Visit Ithaca Let's Go!

This layout is jammed packed just like our day trip to Ithaca, NY was. I put in a little bit from each place we had visited that day. This will be the beginning pages to the trip we took up to Ithaca. the layout comes from LOAD1016 Day 22 prompt: Try something fresh-use your newest products on your page. So this layout was created entirely from Shimelle's newest collection Go Now Go! I fell in love with this collection as soon as I seen it and knew I had to have it :) This is the 1st time I bought a collection on preorder :) I usually wait for the sales. I used the sketch over at Let's Scrap for the inspiration of this layout.
We went to 4 different places that day and then dinner at a local restaurant before heading back home :)
The left hand side of the layout
The right hand side of the layout :) Made sure to include a picture of me as this was my birthday gift from Dave, the trip :)
This Farmer's Market is next to this gorgeous waterfront :) I love seeing the birds out in the water.
A little blurp about the Museum of the Earth. The dinosaur skeletons were amazing to see :) and just a couple of hours away from us.
Ithaca is all about the gorges Wow and just the one we saw was amazing! There is so many more there to see that it would take more than one day to see them :) but I expect a trip up in the spring to see some more of these beautiful gorges and waterfalls. Our last stop of the day was at the Marina and Dog Park. Beautiful fall foliage there and fun to see the sailboats head out to the lake through the channel.
I used the sketch over at Let's Scrap to create this 2 page layout:
This was perfect for all those spots for the brochures write ups of the area we saw and my own personal journaling of it too.

A Day At The Museum

Another layout from LOAD1016 Day 26 prompt: Today we were to pay attention to the "sides" of our layout. I was also inspired by the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. Dave went to Ithaca for work and that night he was telling about the city and some of the things going on there. So he basically planned a day out for my Birthday to Ithaca, NY we went up on the Sunday after my Birthday and tried to cram all that could be crammed in that day it a short period of time :) But we had a blast for 6 full hours seeing some of the sights in Ithaca. This was one of the places we wanted to check out when we did an internet search of Ithaca to make some kind of plan for the day.
I took so many photos that day at the Museum of the Earth that I'll have a few layouts from there. This is the starting layout for that section of Ithaca, NY day-trip. I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power and I got to use that sticky note that was in the kit along with some wood veneers from The Hello World collection from My Mind's Eye. I used 3 papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge.
 My journaling
Part of the brochure for a sub-title cluster and we got a few pressed pennies from here that were included on the layout. I do look out for things that I can use for layouts when we visit places. Picture of me by way of the window, taking a picture of the one skeleton that will be a future exhibit that is under construction at this time. But we did get to see some of the early bits of this exhibit.
This was the 1st thing you seen when you went into the Museum of the Earth.
The hubby next to one of the statues outside of the Museum. The large title cluster.
The sketch I used #115
I turned it to work for me and my layout, this one is a good one to have around for other layouts :)
