Making it Up as I Go LO for Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning and welcome. Here we are in the middle of September, the weather is changing getting a bit cooler as I see the signs of Fall coming.

We got a fun challenge over at Sketch N Scrap for the day. This sketch was created by Lori

This is the layout I created with it:
Having fun using the cutfile for the side border of star, I backed the file and colored it with markers too. Just my new normal now. Making lunches for work in one batch for the week usually on Mondays. I love how the back strips give good stability to the layout. Bringing in the red for some similarity for the lids color. I used my current counterfeit kit Purple Passion for my papers for the layout.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Purple Asparagus LO for Sketch n Scrap challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) The middle of July already! We'll be off on vacation next week hopefully that doesn't go nearly as fast! lol. Now on to the Sketch N Scrap challenge for the day. A wonderful sketch from Lisa to play with today.

This is what I created with it:

Used papers from my May counterfeit kit: What's Cooking for this layout :) The background paper was a specific choice as it had asparagus bundles on it and who doesn't love an old Basic Grey paper :) I backed my photos with a purple cardstock and then used browns for the rest of the layout. It was great to feature this from the garden this year and to see it without the green asparagus too.
Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Cook with Fire LO for Funday Friday challenge

Good Morning and welcome to today's Funday Friday post :) It's Funday Friday around here and over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps. I used one of their Vintage recipe printable cards for my layout:
Loved using the printable card for my journaling and since it's about food and I was cooking the girl chef was the coolest one to use for my layout. I got my inspiration for the layout from Sketch N Scrap #104 for the layout and I used an old Heart song for my title. I used my current counterfeit kit:  Enjoy the Ride. I was glad to be able to use that llama paper :)
My journaling of the day :)

Favorite for Lasting Memories #405 challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) Wow have we gotten quite of bit a rain over the weekend with the storm hanging over us, starting Saturday morning and still going on today, this far we have had 3.7" of rain! There are puddles in the garden, large puddles. Guess I'll be hanging laundry downstairs in the basement this week as there is more rain coming in the forecast for this week. Hopefully it's a bit drier where you all live.
Now for the challenge over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge, we are on the monthly theme of All About Me and this week's challenge is YOU are my Favorite: Create a layout documenting one or many of your favorite things and journal your WHY. You can do a layout listing your favorites in multiple categories - book, movie, food, location, drink, tv show, etc; or, you can focus on one favorite that deserves it's own entire layout. Maybe the world needs to know why scrapbooking is your favorite hobby!? Tell us about you, friend.
I went with cooking for this favorite challenge:
This was one of my favorite layouts I created during LOAD1017 Day 28: I’ve got a secret…
…formula – a favorite product that you swear by, and it doesn’t have to be scrappy! Bisquick is a favorite staple in our house for cooking, used it with Mom as a kid to cook and I use it now for my own cooking. I bashed those huge buttons when I created this layout, so glad to have them out of my stash :) and used a fun cooking vellum quote too on this layout.

A great quote for the layout
a picture of me using one of my favorite products :)
Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creations for this fun challenge this week over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge

LM #387National Frozen Food Month &  National Nutrition Month

Create a Foodie layout - you can have food in the picture, in the paper, or in the embellishments
I just love to do foodie layouts, great to have the everyday happenings in my albums. This layout came about from LOAD1017 Day 16 prompt:
I’ve got a secret…
…to success – document something you are proud of accomplishing:
…to success – document something you are proud of accomplishing. Always proud each year what we get accomplished through the harvest season. Tomatoes this year (2017)- I had fun instagraming the process which helped with my journaling for this layout too.
Close ups of the layout. I went with a grid format cause of having so many pictures. I found that if I google the photo amount with the words scrapbook sketch I get lots of sketches to choose from.
My title block
My journaling.
Thank you once again for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun challenge linked up over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenges.

A Recipe for Happiness for a Lasting Memories scrapbook challenge

Hello :) With being gone for the holiday up in NY visiting Tammy n the grandkids I some how forgot to get this layout ready to be blogged here yesterday :) So we have a new set of challenges over at Lasting Memories   January our theme is "Word Play" and our first challenge is "Happy".

LM #376 - Happy - use some form of the word "Happy" on your layout.

This can be in your title, in your journaling, or even on an embellishment, just show us some form of the word happy (happy, happiness, happiest, etc.) on your layout.
I chose this fun layout I created during LOAD1017
LOAD1017: Day Five: I’ve got a secret……favorite foodinclude a recipe. It’s fun to apply the recipe concept to our pages, too, so although this is a food-centered prompt I have included an optional scrap recipe as well. I used the optional recipe too only had 1 photo though :) A now favorite recipe I received from a friend at work, an excellent cook he is :) Peanut Butter Pie

Close up of the layout :)
 and the recipe
and my journaling.  It's one of my now favorite recipes to take to get-togethers. It comes together so quickly and it's soooooooooooo good :) I look forward to seeing your creation for this week's fun challenge over at Lasting Memories.

What's Cookin'?

Hello :) Getting some layouts that I did during LOAD1017 posted for the challenges that I made them for. This layout was from LOAD1017 I've got a secret Day 25: …talent – find something to scrap that people would be surprise to know that you are good at.
On prompted with a twist, it's not much of a secret about our cooking skills I've scrapped many foodie layouts in various prompts :) So just a couple of dishes we made this summer. I needed a quick layout today:
I had fun creating this layout and I got some inspiration help from The Memory Nest's sketch #98
I just had so much fun playing with this sketch.
Some close ups of the layout.

I had fun using embellishments for my title. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :)

Good Eats for a Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good morning and welcome to the mid-month sketch layout challenge over at Sketch ~N~ Scrap :) Today we have a really interesting sketch that could go many different ways depending on how you scrap :)
No automatic alt text available.
This is the layout I created with this fun sketch:
A night out with the hubby going to Sam's Club and hitting the Mall for the JC Penney closing sale we thought we would go down on Third Street and eat at the Mexican Restaurant, but when I seen this restaurant I said lets try this tonight :) We haven't ate there before, why? I have no idea but we know we'll be going back sometime the food was great :) I used 3 pieces of paper from my 100 Pattern Paper Pile.
I used one of the circles for my journaling
I used lots of memorbilia from the resturant, grabbing a business card, the fortune cookie package I got and Dave and I's fortune. With being a scrapper I thought mine was very fitting and Dave had a fun one too.  I hope to see your creation linked up over at Sketch N Scrap, there is a really cool prize this month up for grabs :)
Another announcement is that we are going to have more crops and fun things happening over at the Sketch N Scrap Facebook Events page. Sketch N Scrap's Sizzlin' Summer Crop starts this Saturday, July 15th over on our Facebook Events page and you have until August 2nd to join in the fun! Another great prize giveaway here too for one lucky winner you got to play along to have a chance to win :)

CHEESY

Welcome back to another layout from LOAD517 Day 7
Prompt:
Gone With the Wind – 1939
“As God is my witness, I’ll never be hungry again!” Inspired by Scarlett’s vow, this is a food prompt! Because she didn’t have much food, you are on a “starvation diet” to tell your food story. Use only three colors, two embellishments, and a one-word title.
The 3 color I used was Brown, Blue and Red. I used Brads and Chipboard for my 2 embellishments and the 1 word title: CHEESY. I used a cooking papers and props for my foody layout. but I did use that maroon pattern paper from my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party for the layout as well as brads from my 100 Pattern Paper facebook group challenge a few months ago that has been sitting on my desk to get used up :)
I used the May 1-7 sketch over at Sketches in Thyme:
May 1-7 Sketch #275
This was a fun sketch to use
 close up of the journaling
The recipe and the scattering of the brads in the 3 choosen colors
Found a fun vellum quote in blue to use too for the layout. Thanks for stooping buy once again to see what I'm up too in my little corner of the world.

A Sketch for the September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following the very inspiring Julie and if you are coming from her blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. Your project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I chose to use one of Shimelle's sketches for my layout :) Love a good sketch challenge. Now this layout includes that card I made for a sneak peek back on the 15th when I couldn't show the rest of the layout :)
scrapbooking sketch by shimelle laine @ shimelle.com
Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Page: Putting One Photo Center Stage
This was such a cool sketch to use for this photo and for the card I made for Sketches in Thyme Project Life style. I used some of the Dazzles kit that was with in my kit of A Little Fall in the Air with some other papers from my stash in my kit. Glad to use up those chipboard pieces I got awhile back in a smashbook package of dodads :) A page that came together pretty quickly too just around a half an hour to create.
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Lisa has created she does so magnificent creations :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.

Please Don't Make Me...

Hi you all and welcome to this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff blog. Jana is our hostess with Challenge #229 - Fruit or/and vegetables:
This layout came about a different way than what I usually do a layout :) It was created for LOAD516 Day 30: It was a MONDAY THEME: ME, MYSELF & I prompt: Please don’t make me…

Harvesting Tomatoes is not my favorite thing to do :) But gotta love the outcome of the canned goods

We do tomatoes each summer for pasta sauce, pizza sauce, stewed tomatoes and crushed tomatoes for the winter. The prompt was a perfect title to the layout :) I have fun digging out some farm/garden related scrappy stash for the layout and actually went through the process from beginning to end of canning tomatoes with the pictures. I'm certainly happy I created the layout is shows some of what we do during the summer and part of our everyday life :) As the garden is a big part of our life in the summer and usually from late spring to early fall were are storing something up for the winter by way of the garden with either canning or freezing it. We look forward to seeing your creation for this challenge over at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog

Love to Bake! a Lasting Memories Scrapbook Layout Challege

This weeks challenge at Lasting Memories is to tell us what you love about yourself.
Go ahead and brag a bit, I know I am. These are the kind of stories you want to leave for future generations:)
I certainly enjoy doing many things, but what I love most about myself is my baking abilities :) Something that I started to learn at home with Mom, enhance my skills through Jr. High and Sr. High School with Home Economics and Cooking classes and now with the internet there are loads of great recipes to try out there :) I have a few favorites that are a go to if I want to have a dessert made quickly, but I also like to challenge myself and find new recipes that then become more favorites :)
A few of my favorite baking goodies :) Apple and Pumpkin pies, Coconut cake, and new favorite Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese icing, and a variety of cookies at Christmas time with Sand Tarts being the yearly classic.
I found a sketch to use for my layout:

I found this PageMaps sketch on google search for a 4 photo scrapbook sketch :) Really like the layout of the photos so went with it.
I had fun creating the layout using my current counterfeit kit: Supper Daze and also using Whimsical Musings: WM#142 inspired by going round in circles, using many circle embellishments on the layout.
Also the challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group for the 3 Ring Circus challenge of using at least 3 circles on my layout. I count 9 altogether.
I found this fun recipe card in my Recipe/Kitchen stash box and though this was a good place to use that :)
A fun Home Economics diecut to add to this fun cluster. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to see your creation for this fun challenge.

A Summer Favorite Recipe for Use Your Stuff Challenge

Hi you all :) Hope you all had a fantastic weekend :) We have been Hot, Humid and Rainy this weekend but we made the best of it. For this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff blog, Heather's challenge is a color challenge. Can you guess the colors from my layout:
This is the color inspiration picture:

This is why the purple was added to my counterfeit kit this month, I knew about this in advance :) I tried to capture the colors the best I could from my current counterfeit kit: Summer Daze, just going outside of the kit for the background paper and some embellishments to fit the colors. I wanted something of a party atmosphere as the salad is usually made in the summer for family gatherings (but I have been known to make it in the winter time for gatherings too).
This layout was also created by a challenge that we are having over at Our Happy Scrappin' Place this was for challenge #1 Favorite Summer Recipe. This is my Mother In Law's recipe that both us daughter in laws received after just tasting it the 1st time, it's a great one to have in the recipe box.
I enjoyed making this layout and found some fun die-cuts in my recipe iris box of goodies and that fun acrylic die-cut to add to the picture
A couple of pictures of the salad from the beginning to the end. Thank you for stopping by today and looking forward to seeing you creation from this fun challenge this week :)
