Work In Progress - #431 Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to this fun challenge over at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge. For January our theme has been - This or That - and we have been working on using up some of our neglected supplies. Our last challenge  this month is:

LM #431 - AlphasUse at least 2 different types/fonts of alphas on your layout - this can be 2 different fonts, a large alpha combined with a smaller alpha, etc.

This was a fun layout about some of the organizing I have done in my craftroom and it seems that it's always a work in progress.  This is one shelf in my craftroom  that I received a few years ago. Since then I have already rearranged it by moving it in another location. Will also be rearranging what I have on the shelves too and adding my stamping supplies & mixed media supplies to it. It seems like my craftroom is always at a work in progress as I'm always rearranging things in it trying to make it better.
I used my October Counterfeit Kit: Tainted Love for this layout.
This layout came about from LOAD 1018 Day 13 prompt Show of the Day: Hello, Dolly! (1964)
Are you a person that arranges things? Are you around others that like to arrange things for you? or Use a scrapbook sketch for your inspiration (I used a Sketch in Thyme from October)

Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun challenge :) and wish you well on winning this month.

Into The Spin layout for Lasting Memories challenge

Good Morning and welcome to this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories. Deanna is our hostess this month for challenges over at Lasting Memories and our theme for November is - Techniques - and today she has challenged us to:

Now, we're gonna start getting a little messy with this week's challenge. I want to see 'Watercolors, Paint, and/or Misting'. Use as much or as little as you want, but hope you'll get a bit messy and have FUN! Since my birthday is this week, I would love to see Birthday themed layouts.

I got the 1st part but not the birthday part of the challenge:
A double page for me today :) I have included the misting on the layout of photos that I took while we were watching a show at Knoebels, taking a slight break from all the fun we were having.
This was created during LOAD1018 Day4: South Pacific was the featured Broadway play and the prompt was either: Pull out a vacation story you've been meaning to tell OR Use misting or a bold splatter technique to set off those vacay photos, or any photos you choose. I chose the latter prompt :) for my layout. I had used a sketch for the layout but did not note the sketch to refer to it. I also used my counterfeit kits:) August Kit: Summer Life, September kit: Falling For You and October Kit: Tainted Love, using the flower background paper from the Summer Life kit the navy paper from my September kit: Falling For You and that fun bicycle paper from my October kit. Cool that I get 3 papers to work together like that from 3 different kits :) all the embellishments from my October kit :)
Close up of the layout:

and the Right Side:
It was a fun show and gave a nice break from walking around the park.
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creation over at Lasting Memories

Homegrown layout for a Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning and welcome to today's challenge over at Sketch N Scrap blog. Today with have this fun sketch:
No automatic alt text available.
Lots of space on here to play with :) and this is what I created with it:
For that big circle on the sketch I used a large doily! A yard sale find a few years ago that I'm still trying to get through them.
Created using this LOAD1018 Day 10 prompt: Show of the Day: The Music Man (1957)
Whether you grew up in a small town like River City, Iowa (the town from the musical) or a large city, your environment helped shape the person you are today. Write about the place you grew up & the special memories you have from that place.
The self-guided tour through Downtown Williamsport was such a joy to do because it brought back so many memories of my childhood downtown. A town that you walk to and not worry about anything happening to you along the way. Times have changed and so has Downtown. But I love the addition of the information of the building that I can add to the layouts besides my own memories.
Using speech bubbles too for telling of these memories just like I was talking and telling the story.
I had fun telling of memories through the pictures and journaling.
With and additional photo of Capital Records another favorite place I went growing up, especially on Saturdays after American Bandstand was on and I would go down to see if they had the latest 45 in :) Also using my current counterfeit kit: Tainted Love. Really did love growing up in a small town, miss that old town too as growing up so has the town and it isn't quite the way it was, but here and there you ca see bits and pieces of the past with in the present.

Don't forget to check out this month's crop over at the facebook group event:

Make Time To Smile layout for CKC challenge #1

Good Morning and welcome, our hostess this month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge is Leslie and she has challenge us with:

What is Your Scrappy Superpower? Time to use a selfie! Are you the Fussy-Cutting Queen, the Layering Lady, the Digi Diva? Time to show off & strut your stuff.

Challenge accepted! My scrappy superpowers has to be a Layering Lady!

Layers of Pattern Papers is not the only thing I love to layer on my layouts, not this scrappy super hero I like to layer clusters of embellishments too :)
I had fun gathering my supplies for this layout from my kit: Tainted Love! I thought this would be a good time and a good layout to use that blocky stripe paper for my background layer. Then added 5 more pattern papers plus 1 scrap piece for the pennant on the layout. Layering for me gives me the variety I love to see on a layout.
I also add variety by layering various embellishments on my layouts in clusters of usually 3 spots on the layout to draw your eye to the photos. Enjoying the day out at the Little League complex, for some me time. I wanted to see the Beach Boys and it was free! So decide to go up and see the 2pm game too so I would have a good seat. It was fun just to go up and enjoy the day.
Adding more layering with the use of doilies, die cuts and puffy stickers around the layout.
Well atleast a few good things came out of a wet summer :) usually I'm home during this particuliar time of the year canning tomatoes, but this year due to the rain, the yield was awful, but that left extra time to enjoy the simpler things in life.

So What is Your Scrappy Superpower? We would love to see your take on this fun challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Up----Up-----and away! Have a great day!

Getting Lost in a Good Series - Stick It Down Double Page Layout

Hello :) I'm here today with the current challenge over at Stick It Down challenge blog. Our sponsor for October is Tanya Leigh Designz based out of Auckland, New Zealand, with her digital kits and embellishments! You can view more on her Facebook and Instagram page.
This month we teamed up with their challenge blog: White... With One. Their color this month is elephant grey. They're using our sketches and we're using 75% white on our pages with a touch of grey. How fun!

Here's the double page sketch for this month:

This is what I created for this challenge (updated version than from the team page, I added more journaling to the layout) :
I loved this sketch and loved the spatter spots behind the pictures too. The rules of the challenge over at White....with 1 is: your layout does need to be at least  70% white  PLUS the specified challenge colour. You can use black (or dark brown) as an accent colour on your layout but it must not be the dominant colour on your layout. The gray that I had in my counterfeit kit this month was planned for this challenge in mind. So the only addition was the chocolate color mist I used to bring in some brown.
The Left side of the layout holds the TV series pictures I got off the internet and part of the movie pictures I got off the internet too. It also holds 2 of the embellishing clusters and my journaling.
 The journling
a little bit of extra journaling
One of my favorite pictures that came of the series with all the characters from the book too

The Right hand side of the layout has the rest of the pictures from the movie and the pictures of the books that I purchased and that I got through the 1st one. Now starting the 2nd book in the series.

close up of the title work and the 3rd cluster.
This was also created from the prompt from LOAD 1018 Day 3 Show of the Day: Brigadoon (1947)
Brigadoon is a whole world that's been hidden away. Tell about a book, a play or film that created a whole world you got lost in. Why did it make you feel that way?
So it was easy for me to use this series for this prompt as I love the whole world being hidden away like the Shawdowhunters were hidden from the human world, so cool and just love a series that is about demons, werewolves and vamps too :)  #saveshadowhunters

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun challenge over at Stick It Down challenge blog and if you really want to challenge yourself you might want to give White... With One challenge a try too.

CKC - October Kit Reveal - Tainted Love

Good Morning and welcome to a new month of Counterfeit Kit Challenge :) You should have reached me from the creative Lori's blog so excited to see what she pulled together for this inspiration. This month Leslie has challenged us with something a bit different a specific kit made for a specific person. This month we are counterfeiting a kit from The Wild Hare Kits. You can read all about them over on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog today. They are a very unique company - creating hand curated paper crafting kits just for you!

AND - The Wild Hare Kits owner, Alison Girling, has generously offered 10% off of a Deluxe Kit for our group with the coupon code CKC1018 at checkout!

The KIT to be counterfeited - Wild Hare Kit September curated kit for Guest Designer Mandi Holmes, unboxing video HERE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTzq7OciDVk
No automatic alt text available.
Not something that is my own style I guess as I struggled with this kit a bit getting it together, but I got it together thinking of things I have that are similar in some way. I pulled both the A and B sides of the paper for my kit. The Hawthrone paper was my starting point for my kit and I seen that in the kit and knew I had some.

My October counterfeit kit is Tainted Love:

I must be on a song kick right now for titling my kits :) The Love comes from the soft colors of the papers and the Tainted comes from the bold multicolor papers just seem to to break the feel of the kit like it should be 2 kits instead of one. My Papers:
Soft colors, stripes, blocks, cut-aparts, large florals, words and I did find some bicycle paper too. A mix of colors with some black and white too. Should create some interesting layouts.
Now the bibs and bobs of the kit: The inspiration:
No automatic alt text available.
This is what I gathered for my kit:
The alphas in black, brown, blue and kraft small and large
I pulled some ephemera from the Hawthorne collection as well as the Twilight collection from oneCanoetwo which had some of the large words like the inspiration kit and it has matching color tones to my kit so a perfect addition :)
Also added the 6X6 paper pad too, lots of word stickers also.
Puffy stickers, doilies, bakers twine in yellow and
sequins in colors that will work for my kit, wood veneer and a stamp set that looks like a 2 step set so that will be fun to try. A small kit for me this month as I have lots left from last month that I want to use up too.
Thanks for stopping by and off you go to see what my Cindy has crafted up for her it this month.
